You can actually use at least two effects for an External Source. 1.First of all configure "Input FX" (shift + EXT SOURCE button, then push value knob and search for the effect you need (tweaking the effect parameters is done by using top (ctrl) knobs 1-3 of course). You can pick the guitar amp emulator for instance or whatever. 2.After that you may use shift + 16 PAD to go to the "EFX SETTINGS", use the third control knob to switch to the "OTHER" settings page and under "Input BUS" pick either "BUS 1"or "BUS 2" (the settings of which are easily found by going back to the "FAVOURITE" page using ctrl 3 again). And matter of fact is that you still can add some other effects by configuring BUS 3 and BUS 4: press shift + 16 PAD as you did at the second step above, scroll to the BUS 3 and BUS 4 folders where you can tweak all the effects parameters you wish (dont forget to turn off these effects after recording, to prevent them overlapping again and again and baking in during each resampling iteration, to do so just use value knob at the first page of FX SETTINGS). I tried to make it uttterly begineer friendly so it may be too excessive, but probably someone will find it usefull enough. Great content though! Keep it up, it is honestly a pleasure to watch.

You can set up your effects in series including input efx so that you have five efx in series. The point of the vid is still cool, and I appreciate it.

Layered? Are you using that as an external effect running an instrument through it or sampling into the sp404?

@@Tiger.Arcade Pardon my ambiguity. By layered I mean I'll have Cloud Delay on bus 1 and cassete sim on bus 2. I will jam on the mpc's "synths" and record them into the looper. Or sample into the 404. mainly because I prefer the sonics of the 404 mk2 over the Mpc live 2.

Do you have a favorite go to effect on your SP404 MK2?
