What does SDM stand for?

My lathe (Clausing) reads direct (turn the crosscut 10k it takes off 10k) the new DRO reads the opposite (turn the DRO to take off 10k, the lathe takes off 5k) what setting in my cheap DRO do I chang to get in sinc with the lathe? GaryD

Did you get this figured out? It's radius/diameter mode .use the X then press the 1/2 key. you will swap bwtn modes ....

So the tool library doesn't work? Some of these DRO's require you to 'open' the tool library before you can add tools. This Old Tony has a video on DRO Basics & Lathe Tool Offsets. I have an LCD version (different brand) which doesn't appear to have tool offsets, going off the fact it doesn't have any buttons for it. So your video has been helpful, thanks.

Thanks Richard, yep, I got tool lib open, & tools entered. The problem is when you go to call them up to use. I even had contact with the co I bought them from, & none of their answers helped at all. I saw old tonys video too, but his keys are different than the ToAuto .. I have a few more that describe use of other functions as well. As I get functions figured out I add more ...

@@keithtrusso66 No worries Keith, good to know you are on to it. I believe these DRO's come with different software versions, so feature sets change one month to the next. I have no documented tool library on mine so your video is how I will use mine.
