Thank you so much for helping us folks who have gone for a Chinese DRO. Mine is dead nuts on now. I was doubting my scale installation straightness, my parallel used as a gauge block, heck I even doubted my cat when she went 'meow'. You have saved me a whole lot of fiddling and wasted time. Thanks very much! May the swarf be with you.

Thank you so much for this. My DRO Y axis read 2.772” for an actual 3”. The manual that came with my DRO was no help, for a different model and quite incomplete. I had been trying to follow the instructions for several days, getting no where. Thanks to you it’s 3.000 now

Note: Those who receive the ToAuto DRO Screen with two buttons that are labeled differently. The CA button is the same as the AC button and the INV button is the same as the ARC button. As of March 2024 the Operation Manual has not been updated to show this.

Revisited your video and found out I was entering too small a ratio, .001 instead of .25 or .5. When I entered larger compensation numbers than I started to move towards the figure I needed. Thanks again, as I mentioned mine is a Tpactools model but the similarities between the two are close just names. I would have never gotten this.

Keith, I watched your videos. I was especially excited when I watched the easy “no math” one. However, mine is a Tpactools model and while the face and button location looks similar. This method did not seem to work. Might have been error on my part. I’ve been going back and forth with the seller and he’s trying to help but….. I’m almost sorry I began the calibration process. My mill is a round ram M head with new screws, nuts and gibs. As I mentioned my error factor has only gotten higher. I’ve tried imputing negative numbers to bring it closer to value of three inches but now I’m up to 3.008. Tried putting 0.000 to reset. Didn’t work. As others have said the manual is useless. Any advice or help you can offer would be appreciated. Regards Bill

Great info! I assume it remembers that compensation over time?

Hello Keith, Great Video! I have the ToAuto unit as well and am attempting this procedure. However, your steps vs. what I see deviate from the initial point where you press X then the MM button. On my unit, instead of displaying the "S" value, the display indicates "0.000" and the mode display indicates "COMPEN_X". In other words, it doesn't follow your video at all. Any idea? My unit is brand new, just installed... different Firmware? (the user guide is a total Joke!) I'll look at your other video's on Lin-Comp and see what I can do. TIA

Follow the video, and when "COMPEN_X" appears instead of "S", that is the same, type your compensation value and hit Ent. Then repeat the whole process until it shows the desired value ...

How do you reduce the number of decimal places ? And is it possible to change it positive to negative in movement?

I can get the measurement perfectly calibrated but then when i move to a different place on the table its off by several thousands again. Any sources of this changing error?

Sounds like your scales aren't mounted square... Use an indicator along the face & top of scale to ensure within a few thousands ..
