As good as this tutorial is all of these types of modding video's share one issue and that is if you hit an error or something doesn't work the way it's shown or doesn't lead to the same results as the tutorial then your essentially on your own and you can see it in this very comment section, how many people have issues with something from a year or two ago, people that never got answers and may as well have given up or found the solution on there own days or weeks later when it's just something simple that most likely takes 10 minutes to fix.

I recently purchased a PS3 super slim to play The Last of US for $55 USD, and have now delved into the world of ps3hen. Thank you for all the great tutorials, it has been super easy to follow!

So am I correct in saying, if I have PS3 games in "folder" format, they go in the "GAMES" folder on a FAT32 usb, and for PS3 games in ISO, they go in the "PS3ISO" folder in an exFAT or NTFS usb? Any way to have all PS3 games (folder format and ISO format) together, or is it better to have all PS3 games in either folder format or ISO?

Even after using the PS3 ISO Tools software I am left with folders and I put them in the PS3ISO folder but my PS3 doesn't detect them at all, My PS3 also shows me 2 CD's of each PS2 game which I have no idea why and none of them would work as they all error a few seconds after trying to do something once I press X on them.

Ps3 iso tools is great. You can use it to split and join other iso's too. It worked perfect joining a ps2 game for me. I can't get ntfs to work on my ps3 though. I see the disc but I get error an 8001 error. I tried using both webman and multiman with no luck.

use irisman to download from an ntfs. just go to the tools find the usb plugged in then press square and start then click mount to xmb. no splitting or anything

I'm using a Seagate backup plus external 1TB hdd with no problems. Try using that.

No external drives for me, but thanks for the suggestion buddy. 👌👍👍 I actually like finding different ways to do things. You ever hear the expression there's more than one way to skin a cat? 🙀😆It's really fun for me screwing around with my PC anyway.

So I did this, and I got an "Error! /dev_bdvd/game.iso" situation during the copying process. Is there something I'm missing? PS1, PSP, and PS3 games work perfectly using this method.

@@youngjezuz4069 I hadn't. I used FTP to move the files to the internal hdd and could run them from there, but got so fed up with searching about this error that I passed out lol

Thank you. I'm updating my PS3 now and forgot to add the folders in my NTFS drive. I could run them but it was tedious going through menus to find them in a file explorer. Anyway this is a great guide. One question though I have WEBMAN installed if I run the WEBMAN mod as described here will it just install over the old WEBMAN? Thanks

As he said, as long as you follow what he did with your NTFS I do not see why. If you haven't solved this yet let me know I will try it for you.

i followed most if not all of MrMarios guides and they never failed me, however when I followed this guide my 2TB hard drive is not being seen by my PS3 even after redoing the guide 2 more times. If anyone can help It would be much appreciated.

I had this problem too, apparently the drive needs to be formatted to Master Boot Record, not GUID Partition Table. Hope this helps

Appreciate your tutorials. My webman must've not been installed correctly. The webman games folder isn't showing up but I have a folder just saying webman mod. How do I access the subfolders?

@@paaableras yeah I think I got the wrong version. Look for the latest update and or uninstall any other versions. I downloaded like 3 of them and after I uninstalled every one and just got the latest version everything worked fine

Sorry to ask this here but I've been trying all day to get multi-disc games to work with ps3hen, from what I read online webman is my best shot because it enables to unmount and mount disks through your phone or pc browser. And there are videos showing that process working but I believe that functionality may have been broken cause I get the notification of new disc mounted, but I never get to the "loaded" part, as if the disk never started running after being mounted. Could you try to make a multi disc PSX iso work with webman and either prove I'm not crazy or just very dumb?

I set the auto fan control to 85°C with max fan speed set to 50%. According to IBM, 85°C is the maximum temperature junction for the cell processor. With these settings, my CPU never gets above 80°C and my RSX GPU never goes above 70°C. More than reasonable temperatures in my opinion compared to most computers. I don't want a loud fan, and 68°C is ridiculous! I can't even keep my liquid cooled PC that cool, let alone an air-cooled console.

What I found out with a lot of trial and error was to not take the step for changing the folder to iso. What I did was move the game folder to my fat32 memory card and then transferred the folders to the game folder on the ps3 hard drive. The folders may have been well over 10gb (depending on the game) but the individual files are within limits. Not only is this extremely faster way to transfer, the ps3 recognized everything after running webman for a quick reset. I have several ps3 games on the main hard drive with this method without any issues. I hope this helps.

I had no idea you could play psp games on PS3, I guess it was a Japan thing

Wait, wait, wait... so now, are we not limited to MBR partitions? Are you saying we can now format larger external drives (≥3tb) GPT and it would be recognized?... or are the limts still MBR and ≤2tb? You forgot that information... again. Did you know, you don't have to re-run prepISO if you disable scanning on startup in Webman's menu. Just rescan when you update your games on the drive or switch USB ports. ALSO, I thought you could play PSP games directly from a FAT32 drive too (why not state that in this video?) ...Love your videos otherwise

I have a CECHA01 model and everything is working great, except for PS2 games. Whenever I try to run the ISO, it says "An error occurred during the start operation (80028F18)". Any idea of what might be causing this? Thank you in advance!

Seems like everything is working well now; the culprit appeared to be a badly ripped ISO. Made a new rip and everything is working 100%!

@@RwasitaPari i solved my problem, PS3 ntfs format is MBR, but windows default format hdd to GPT, after changing that, ps3 Games works, but ps2 isos must be copied into internal hdd.

Hi, hope you will see this. But on my sides the PS2 games doesn't load. After mounting the ps2.iso and launch it my ps3 go to a black screen and stop responding. I have FERROX 4.87 and COBRA 8.20 CFW too. PS3 iso work.

Hi again Mr. Mario. If you happen to know (& have a second or two)… Do you know if it is at all possible for webman to recognize 2 external HDDs at the same time? I know multiman can see all my content that spans the 2 drives, but webman only seems to see 1 of them at a time. There was something I did and I saw all the content. I booted up a game then returned to webman, only for it to return to recognizing only 1 of the drives again. The one that had that game on it. Both are in the NTSF format. Both I have used prepISO on. Any chance?

One of my plugins isn't playing nice with the others. I noticed multiman freezing on boot after installing and hen having a rough time enabling. I uninstalled the new plugins and it's all working just fine. I'm going to try uninstalling one at time to figure out which one isn't cooperating.

Is there anyway to install the prepISO mounted ps3 ISO into the internal hardrive (hdd0)? I just managed to play TLOU direct from my external HD, but since I have space in my ps3's internal HD I got myself wondering. I've tried to run multiman after mouting the ISO, but the Copy/Paste options aren't there.

I'm confused, is "copra" a separate thing to do after installing/enabling HEN (4.86)

I have this problem that if I play Red dead redemption or Singstar Abba from an external hdd, it works until I update the games. In singstar it gets stuck on a loading screen. In RDR black screen after intro video.

Hello there, first of all I'd like to say that your work is amazing and your videos are so well done. So good! Then, I have to raise a question: I have a PS3 in front of my treadmiller, and I just want to watch some anime/tv show while running. I was able to do that with a FAT32 pen drive, but it can only contain 8GB; so I have to delete and put new videos every day, basically. But, I do have a 2TB HDD, with lots of videos I'd like to watch, in exFAT, that PS3 doesn't read (nor does the TV). So this is not about the games. How can I do that? Thanks!

I have a major problem I have a ps3 slim rebug and webman installed already but whenever I load a Ps2 iso it works perfectttly fine except the fact that regardless of which controller i use wired/wireless/ps3 the triangle and square buttons are swapped and X and O buttons are also swapped I don’t know why the controller mapping is messed up.

I'm curious why my exfat 2tb external hard drive would not show games through prepISO, while my exfat formatted flash drive would?

I'm getting error codes when trying to boot my copied ps3 iso games, How come? I did the samething that you did.

I was hoping i can use my ntfs external drive to transfer my pkg files to the ps3 so i can install them directly from there. FAT32 is NOT an option in this case as a lot of the pkgs are >4GB which is why i was looking for an ntfs method. looks like I'll have to use FTP which is freaking slow.

If ntfs disks can be used with webman mod will a disk above 2TB work? For example a single 4TB portable disk formatted as NTFS with GPT partition or does the partition have to be MBR? In which case above 2TB will not work.

I'm having a weird issue. I had RE3 is its own folder and MGS1's disc files in separate folders inside the PSXISO dir and MGS1 disc 1 was recognized but not disc two. RE3 was also recognized. I played through MGS disc 1 without any issue but when i tried to change the folder structure of MGS by combining the files into one folder to see if i could see disc 2, I can't get the game to be recognized again after running prepISO and restarting my console. RE3 always is recognized. I tried to change the folder structure for MGS back to what it was when it was working but now it doesnt even show

I went from 4.86 to Rebug 4.86 Lite, installed new Webman, the toolbox, but TM: Black and several isos keep giving a 80028f17 error. Will downgrading to 4.84 Rebug with the full toolbox help? I have a CECHA model, it runs PS3 and PS1, PS2 is the only issue.

I had to format my flash drive to use for something else, but when I reformatted it back to Ntfs and dropped my games back on it they don’t show up in multiman, any idea what I did wrong?

Does preparing the drive delete anything other than the games that are stored in the drive? I have a 2tb external harddrive with some other content on it i.e movies and pictures. Will preparing the drive delete them or will they remain intact?

Not sure about what USB port the PS3 uses, but PS2 only has cutscene loading issues due to the fact it uses USB 1.1 or something

I tried this method and it worked perfectly, but when i tried to open a game my ps3 crashed, any idea how to fix?

For some reason the prepare nfts app isn't in games, also webman mod is showing up as parental controls for some reason.

Is there a certain amount of games it will recognize in each folder? I can't get it to recognize all my PS2 games and PSP games. Also for some reason my PSX games go from all being seen to 0 sometimes when I refresh the list. Finally I have tried a PS2 game and it just boots the PS2 logo and then goes to a black screen. Could this be my system? I am testing with Final Fantasy X US version. All others work for me: PS3, PSX, and PSP are all ok.

The last time I used a hack PS3 I was using multi-man. What's the difference between multi-man and webman? There was no need to run prep iso or anything.

Unfortunately I am not able to copy ps2 games in the internal storage. When I press X button the system mounts the iso without copying in the hdd and even If it appears to be loaded it freezes after the Playstation 2 screen...

Same here! I tried almost every solutions and still asking me to login to PSN to renew the license...

I have a jailbroken ps3 and all the packages are installed, however, after running prepISO and going into webman games, All I see is the webman setup option, which takes me to a browser, i've done it 5 times now and just cant get my PS3ISO folder to show up!
