I can totally see how having cards for nearly every task, can take decision fatigue out of the equation. I've started on my card deck this week.

Beautiful walk! The comment you made about Hospitality being your purpose/gift really spoke to me, about how to think about my spiritual gifting in my “Why” of goal setting.

I'm trying to do a better job of asking myself 'why' before jumping into anything. Thank you for taking a walk with me 😉

I was so excited you had another video today. I am pretty sure I have binged watched everything. I have read the Sidetracked Home executive now, made stacks for the rest of the year and the whole "get started pack" for next year. I love this system. Your videos inspired me to walk 15k steps each day this week and start the habit of morning pages. I've read the Artist's way but its been years. This year I am co-writing a book so I am getting back into a daily habit of writing. I am also a 12 week year planner- I have an accountability partner and we meet on zoom on Friday afternoon to check in and score our weeks. I love this because it gives us a deadline and its fun to talk with my friend that lives far away.

This is the best - Thank you so much for sharing!! I love that you have an accountability partner and a scheduled time to meet to go over your scorecard. Co-writing a book sounds interesting too!

After watching most of your videos yesterday, I got started with the cards I have at home. I add cards as I go. This will take some time, but I prefer it that way.

I love the ability to “delegate” the brain space for a task to a specific day. Unlike a to-do list, I don’t have the item in my face to constantly see and think about (or dread). I bought your card set on Etsy, used my paper trimmer to cut them all out today, and I’m excited to get started!!

Sounds like a very interesting video, however I had a hard time understanding you as your voice is very soft against the sound of the wind. However I like your idea of using index cards for some home management chores and tasks. I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Hi, great video. The bag that you use for your card looks really handy. Gonna order one for myself. I use a mini clipboard for my cards that I got on Amazon. I like to make lists so it works great. The bag would work great with overflow cards or as you've shown, taking them on the go. Thank you for inspiring me to get more use out of my cards❤.

The cards are a neat idea! I totally see how great these work at home, but I'm trying to figure out how these might be my "planner" at work where there are loads of tasks and appointments each day (and most home chores are concentrated on the weekend)? Maybe this is a question you can answer next time!

That's a great point - I'm not in an office environment, but I could see where that might get awkward and impractical! However, there are still principles you could apply to a planner or electronic planning tool. I'll happily explore that in the new year - thank you!

Question I've been meaning to ask: In some older video you had day cards sticking out the side. You aren't doing that now. Did you ever try day dividers instead of date? Why did you not like the days out the side? Did you you think you didn't need them because you're used to the dates? I was thinking of changing up the system before I started and decided to go with your way with the date dividers. But it seems too fiddly to my brain to have to look up the date to figure out where to move things to for 'next Friday' or whatever. I'm resisting remaking day dividers for a 2, 3, or 4 weeks instead of the dates. Or in addition to the dates. Curious re: your experience.

In the end I don't mind checking the monthly calendar card to shuffle and the days of the week tabs are then redundant. I also like the tabs only on the top. It might work for you though!

Do you carry the whole year with you, or just the 12 weeks, or just a month?

I have always carried the full year, storage, meals, etc.- the whole card deck. However, I'll only carry my 12 weeks for now, leaving the rest behind.
