u need to stop making videos referring to 'cheating' or even joking about it. It's specifically because of u as a top content creator highlighting it that cheating has become such a problem on chesscom at the lower brackets. Google copycat effect. Clowns watch u, get into the game, get frustrated, then do the thing they saw u joke about / refer to a million times; cheat. Hard to fully fix Pandora's box at this point but u can at least stemmy it. Say you get 250k views, that probably translates to 250 people who'll copycat at the least.

He has a gift for explaining things in an understandable and exhilarating way. He communicates how a strong/pro player feels about chess, without doing the usual gatekeeping language where one spews out a million different complex lines.
The thing about their game is, hikaru is actually more like coaching levy more than playing for him

I posted this under the raw vid of the event on Hikaru's channel, but will say this here too. While at time you seemed like you were feeling a little timid (I can't imagine the pressure of playing with Hikaru and trying to find ways to contribute) and while Hikaru was mostly driving the ship on ideas, there were a very large number of spots where you had first instincts that were dead on correct for the best move in a position, and some where your instinct on a move was the only move in a position to keep advantage (I am a terrible chess player, I was just following the games on an analysis board, stockfish approved of a lot of your ideas). You should trust those instincts more.

600 elo player: Hikaru, let's play Hikaru: yes, great idea! (goes on and win the game)
You smashed it yesterday Levy! You played really well, and at least in the Armageddon, you played most of the critical moments and won. Hikaru also came in at the right times to prevent blunders or anticipate how things will evolve. You guys had a really good dynamic!
I really like when you and Hikaru do collab stuff, He might be the better player, but you are the better teacher, and having you explain his ideas helps a ton.
The moment i heard that youre returning to otb i was soo excited. .. i hope you become gm one day levy.. you dont know how much you helped😊

Im happy you provided one of the critical ideas for the game. It’s fun seeing you light up everytime hikaru approved your ideas
Hikaru is insanely good. No wonder ordinary GMs, even some ex-world-champs 😋 think he's using an engine. That's because he is. A big one. Well concealed between his ears.

Yeah? Well my engine is concealed between my knees and it runs like a dream.
We need a series with Hikaru coaching Levy as Levy goes for GM status. Like Apollo and Rocky.
This was SO SWEET LIVE !! It’s been years to see a collab between you two and I haven’t been able to watch one since I fell in love with chess. Truly phenomenal
I like how levy just gets so excited he forgets to explain the idea of moves to us by the last of midgame and endgame, and i am sitting here clueless still enjoying thoroughly
25:02 Hansen and Jorden never fail to have 2 seconds on the clock
Bro think he is hikaru
Love this. I imagine that was an awesome learning experience for you! You can learn a lot by studying games after, but getting the live insight was probably something else. Congrats on the win
Can you upload the VOD in a playlist or something? I think would be interesting to watch the collaborative thinking. Congrats on the win
Levi Roseman never fails to show his extreme love to Hikara Nakimara
You had clutch assists, like that opening idea and then opening up an attack near the end that lead to a win. That was insane.
Hikaru is just like Stockfish but he actually can explain the thought process behind the move. You are very fortunate to have such a partner in that event.
Engaging recount and great strategy for the team chess battle! Watching you and Hikaru strategize was a fascinating insight. These chess techniques really got my gears turning.
Levy is milking both Cagnus Marlsen and now Nikaru Hakamura ☠
This was an awesome video, loved hearing how you and Hikaru worked together
the 3rd game would've been really funny if they showed the other team talking more because they were so confident with their bid and black with the 5 second increment while claiming they would make solid reactionary quick moves, then they started to realize all the moves were complicated and they didn't have enough time to think. but unfortunately only on the 3rd match they decided to broadcast hikaru and levy more so they were kinda saved.
Hey Levy, I’ve been watching your videos since about October and I love your content, my favorite playlist is Guess the Elo. I’ve noticed your views have dropped a little in the more recent videos and I wish that would change. I can’t really give much advice since I’m not a KZreadr but I will say one of my favorite things in your videos is seeing your Twitch chat’s reactions during your videos. I know streaming can be tough but I would love to see some more chat-levy collaborations, your videos are so awesome and there’s really no one who can explain this stuff like you, thanks!
I watched this live and I agree that Levy did a good job. There was some contribution and definitely kept his cool at the end when time was really ticking down.
This is one of the best videos you've put out IMO. Just an awesome concept and I feel like I learned a ton. I hope you turn this into a series somehow.
LEVY BROKE CHESS with that bishop f3 idea
Levy should totally switch accounts with Hilaru on titled Tuesday
Levy does one thing with Hikaru, and he just instinctively starts drawing arrows like him
Great! I've started watching when this collabs were ending and really hoped for a new one. Also the Armageddon game was impressive.
I really enjoy the discussion between players. Seeing things I would never see. This improves my game alot
Levy never fails to use the cow opening on Magnus and Hikaru.
Really makes you understand how good Hikaru is, seeing the crazy moves he calculates and finds that Levy never would have thought of.
Do more of this!! This game was super exciting.
This is def my favorite video in recent memory. Great job Levy & Hikaru!!
I’m glad hikaru chose levy though I do really want to see more of Danny rensch’s chess
I always love it when you and Hikaru collaborate on something. That armageddon game was totally awesome!
I want way, *way* more of this. That is all.
Some of these moves' ideas literally had me going "wow" out loud. These gms are nuts.
Would be cool to see you guys have the banter over the moves recorded
Such an insanee matchup, intense, exactly what I needed recovering from a brain injury
Imagine Hikaru and Magnus cope up together and play in a classical match. I'm pretty sure that they will win the game with 99 to 100 accuracy
Very cool chess concept i would love to see more of it in the future.
What a flawless cooperation👏🏽👏🏽🔥🔥
I love this format of chess, I hope you play many more with Naka on your side
Levy Nakamura: "nah i'd win"
Levy seeing character improvement not using stockfish and using Hikaru instead, thank you gotham.
This is one of absolute sickest concepts. Where is the goddamn live stream I need to see you guys strategizing in real time.
Levy has that enthusiastic friend energy, he could make a 30 minute ramble on cow etymology kino
Rare footage of levy not putting Magnus in the title
This has got to be an incredible practice/training experience
" Im not Gotham subscriber im Gotham himself " Levi did us good 😭
Hikaru and Magnus versus Alireza and Fabiano, it's going to be a battle.
I LOVED THIS! 2v2 is such a unique idea for chess!
Watched this live and honestly, you really did quite great. There were several times Hikaru was complimentary of your contributions. It's nice seeing someone there to constrain your wildest impulses, because you DO have some brilliant insights sometimes. You just also have the ability to panic, and Hikaru can capitalize on your brilliancies while being the player who knows when what you're thinking is pure panic. Levy Nakamura is a strong team.
Loved the format watching you talk it out
I enjoyed these two they played well and had good conversations
Love this video. Levy + hikaru + team battle - we need more of this!
I watched this live but enjoyed your impact on a seemingly top heavy team. Really great job!
Levy’s contribution was occasionally asking a question and then Hikaru would do all the calculation and tell Levy if it was good or not. And then 1 out of every 15 times that happened Hikaru would go “Oh wait, maybe that is something that we need to pay attention to.”
Watching GMs not flinch is going to teach anyone a lot.
Come on Levy you need to do a campaign to get Hans into more tournaments. The guys games are fantastic and exciting let’s go.
This whole tournament is just levy trying to trick hikaru into playing a 1v2, and he actually fell for it!
4:33 He casually roasted all 4.7 million people. 🤣
It's cool to hear the discussion between a top player and someone who is also very good.
Levy never fails to talk
Levy getting Hikaru to look over his homework
nice team-up ...love this format
It's really helpful as a spectator to get the thoughts in real time. watching two people stare at each other silently for 3+ hours isn't as exciting. hearing how and what you think is great. Maybe we could get like a 3v3 classical tournament?
Hikaru just made levy think he was contributing so he felt like a big boy
