Using AND OR Formulas in Airtable
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Logic Formulas are an important formula type to understand. The output of these formulas, while not very helpful in a vacuum, is often used in tandem with many other formulas. Therefore, building solid logic formulas is a vital skillset for all Airtable users.
This video showcases the two most popular logic formulas: AND and OR formulas. These formulas work in very similar ways, both of them containing two outputs: TRUE (1) and FALSE (0).
Taking these formulas and combining them with more advanced formulas can produce some truly robust calculations for any database!

Your video about Airtable are the best! I learned a lot by watching them and built super important custom solution for my business myself. It’s great feeling. Thank you so much for your work and your videos! ✌️😉

Great to hear! Thanks for the comment! 😊
Thanks for sharing this video! Helped me a lot when I was writing an "IF" formula because for some reason Airtable only lets you nest two "IF" statements. But, after nesting the "OR" inside an "IF" I could check 4 status criteria for a project to set a defined date for when the project can be considered as finished (won, lost, rejected by company, rejected by customer).

Glad this helped, although I've nested more than 2 IF statements before. Maybe check your syntax if you still can't add a third IF (or more) - the formula UI isn't that easy to use so syntax mistakes happen all the time
Is there a way to add the search bar and filter/sort options on the 'mobile' version view? On the desktop version I see it but when you open on a mobile phone it's not there.

Not every feature is available from the mobile app, unfortunately.
This is very good. So, can you create one column which contains your AND/OR formula, then another column with the IF statement which returns a value based on the output of the AND/OR column?

yes indeed - formulas can reference each other!

@@GarethPronovost Hi there! May i ask if it's possible to reference 3 values from my AND formula inside an if statement? I have a 3rd conditions and I'm not sure how to proceed.

@@cheska5528 Yes you can, just separate each condition with a comma inside your AND syntax!
Going back to basics ? Gues it makes sense for newcomers.

Trying to maintain a balance of basic and more advanced content. As Airtable is continuing to grow exponentially, there are so many new folks looking for answers, too!
