As always I learned something that wasn't obvious, which was how to force-sync the tables, which is why your videos are so extremely helpful! I noticed when I changed the title of the columns in the source, those did not sync so I manually changed them in the destination table as well with no apparent issues. Thanks again Gareth.

Excellent video, I hadn’t used the open source record button functionality before! Please make a video once the two-way sync functionality is available on Airtable

Hi Gareth, thank you for the great explanation. Is it possible to establish a sync between different sub plans? For example between pro and plus plans...

It seems to be possible, but I'm not sure which account the syncs count against. 🤔

I am not embarrassed about how excited I got for this video. I love how you explain things and I've had quite a few questions about synced tables. If I have several bases for different aspects of a business and want to link all the tasks into one base for all projects, is this the easiest way? And then from there use a junction table to get them all on a single grid and/or kanban view for my team to work from. Or is there a more efficient way to consolidate multiple bases into a single project view?

Thanks Holly! You can sync multiple tables into the same table. I didn't show this in this video, but you can add multiple sync sources. This might help for your specific case.

Unfortunately, yes. Those records that you sync DO count against your total base record total.

Hi, I've made an automation to create a record with conditions from a sync table, because it was creating one record per collum  So the first problem is solved, but now i need this record to be updated as long as someone change any info in the row of the other table./base... Could you help me ? Thanks.

Hey @GarethPronovost thank you for this helpful video! I created a sync from another table, but when I try to link to the record from another table in the same base, it doesn't pull the information (even when I specify the correct lookup field). I'm on a free plan. Does that make a difference? I've been trying for like an hour now!

I think you're describing a synced table with a lookup field, which isn't possible. The sync gives you access to one table. If you want to lookup other info, first bring that into your synced table and then include it in the sync

Thank you for this thorough video, although it didn't cover a mystery question for us. Is it possible to add records to a base that is pulling in synced information? For example, we are pulling in the LA Community Fridges updated list of active community fridges in the county but there are 2 fridges that aren't a part of the LACF network but are fridges that are running and we'd like these to be a part of a list of active fridges we provide for people. Thank you for your help in advance!

Can you let me in on how? Or some keywords to google to figure out how? I've got data being pulled from an outside table and synced to a new table within a database of my own. This database also contains a table of data that I'd like to merge with the incoming synced table but I've gotten a message from Airtable saying that I cannot sync tables within the same database.

@@mutualaidlanetworkinfo2592 I think for syncing tables within the same database could definitely be achieved with Automations. For automations to work, you will have to specify the Trigger and Action. A trigger could be when a [source table] gets updated/inserted or to check for a certain specified field having a type of Status or Specified schedule. An action could then be to Create Record into the [target table].

Did the "Sync Now" (@ 11:37) get removed as a feature from the free bases? (I don't see it anywhere on any of my free base synched tables' drop down menus). My whole workflow is set up to sync from my paid team account to free client bases... ;-/

hi, I would like to know if it's possible to link views, for example link the information from the grid view with the gallery view, doing one click on any field from grid view.

  • @GarethPronovost

Views don't link to one another, instead try linking tables. Views are simply how you look at the data in a table.
