    Trish I am so impressed! I hesitated to get one after you demonstrated with your dishcloths because I have serious wrist tendinitis and worried the bar was very heavy since it's 36 inches wide(plus all the yarn wound around it) Necessity is the mother of invention and you did such a great job, I'm really inspired. If you ever can be bothered I would be interested to know how much the bar weighs but no worries, I'm sure you have better things to so than weight it for me! Congratulations!

    I’m definitely interested in purchasing one from you. Can any kind of clamps be used with it? Also, will the warping bar work with thin, 8/2 cotton yarn? I have had a hard time getting even tension with my warping, this may be the answer to my prayers.

  • @FiberLoveDiary

    @FiberLoveDiary

    3 жыл бұрын

    I would say nearly any clamp could be used. I like 12" bar clamps from Harbor Freight. I use 8/2 cotton when I weave dishtowels, so you can definitely use it. I have not found anything I can't use yet. I've even warped with an assortment of different thicknesses and had no problems with anything slipping because the inside of the bar has a chamfer. It holds everything in place very well as long as the wingnuts are tightened down reasonably well.

If I was using a 7.5 DPI heddle would that mean I would start warping on the second peg from the end with 3 loops of yarn and then the 4th would loop over the same peg with half that loop on the first peg then?? Thank you!

  • @FiberLoveDiary

    @FiberLoveDiary

    2 жыл бұрын

    When I use a 7.5, I just do 3, 4, 4, 4. That way over each for inches, you still end up with 30 ends. It's not that critical that it be exactly an inch, just pretty close.

    I just stumbled upon your channel and have been binge-watching. I'm fascinated by this warping bar, but all of your videos stop short of explaining how you are getting the yarn through the eye in the reed. Do you have anything that you can direct me to that shows that? I would love to be able to keep all of my Loop intact at the end, but I don't see how you would be able to direct warp and move one of each of the two threads from the slot over without cutting loops. Thank you!

  • @FiberLoveDiary

    @FiberLoveDiary

    3 ай бұрын

    You put one inch of warp on each peg. The peg falls in the middle of each, so there is actually a half inch of each outer bundle that goes out last the pegs. I hope that makes sense, but the most important thing is just put one inch of warp on each leg and it'll work.

    If only it were larger, I’d use it for my loom! Warping has been a nightmare for me.

    I was ordering a warping bar, and shipping to Canada was 119 dollars! I know it’s not your fault mailing is so much, but I just can’t justify that amount. I backed out of the order page, and will try to figure something else out. Love your channel though, but the USPS not so much

    Hi Nancy! In the listing I had to state that the weird shaped boxes aren't calculating correctly, so I have to refund the over charge. You can contact me directly through email if you'd like me to calculate the shipping manually. We can go through PayPal or venmo without the word shipping calculation if you still want it

    Too bad there isnt one for table looms. It looks like it would be so much easier to load a warp.
