Using a Sodering Iron to cut out lace fabric for my wedding dress!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I'm using a sodering iron to cut out lace fabric for my wedding dress! I didn't want to sit around for hours using scissors. I figured a hot knife would be faster.

I've seen a few people do this before and I've wanted to try it myself. I didn't want to have a hard time creating my wedding dress like my Catwoman wedding dress. That took a long time but I didn't know about using a hot knife or sodering iron to cut fabric. I saw someone else do it ages ago and then recently I thought of trying it. Come join me in my experience with using a sodering iron for the first time! I hope this tutorial vlog style video is a bit informative! Let me know if you like this style or not.
I WILL BE USING THIS IN THE FUTURE FOR COSPLAYS!!

I’d use a dark toned paper and go more steady. Thanks for the video. 👍

Thats a great idea! Someone else said to use glass as a backing. I'd be even more scared to use that.

Omg, you touched the wand! 😖 Poor thing! I hope that didn't leave too big of a burn. Aren't you a lefty? I saw you using your right hand but you went back and forth. We just bough Juju a pair of lefty scissors and she was thrilled. Its amazing how hard it is for Leftys to use tools that are made for us Rightys. Great tutorial as always. Have a great night. 🤗🤗🤗

I didn't know if it was on or not; so I touched it. I didn't burn myself luckily... my god it's so scary. But I'm definitely a lefty. The tool is functional for both hands. It was sooo scary so I went really slow with my right hand. Luckily I was able to get the hang of using the sodering iron so I can use it in both hands.

Paper will start a fire. Use a floor tile or a piece of glass.

You're absolutely right, I didn't have glass or flooring to use at the time when making this video but I've learned better now

I do clean it with a wet sponge but I have seen others use steel wool as well.

Cardboard might help you see better and more protection for your table surface. 😊

Ive been meaning to go get a nice glass surface to work off of. Cardboard just burned sadly.

Glass sounds like a good idea. I just thought that since you had paper and you weren't in one area long enough to burn the paper, maybe the cardboard would work.😉
