@@HRHGuinevere it was the same for my mom (2nd marriage, i saw the numbers). Her dress was off the rack and fit her well, slightly snug. Luckily she lost a little weight before the wedding and it fit perfectly

What I've learned from watching these shows is never ever take your parents to the appointments.

I am blessed I didn’t have any drama when I took my mom my older sister and my best friend dress shopping. I tried on a mermaid dress that was 2 sizes 2 small and we all agreed no to that dress lol

I hated my daughter's prom dress. She absolutely adored it! I kept my mouth shut, and she still absolutely and happily adores it. That makes me happy. IDC about a dress.

If I say I have a budget of 10k don't show me dresses above that. It should be 10k, full stop. If they asked me "hey, do we have a little wiggle room on the price?" I may change my mind. But when there's no communication on the prices, and they show me things I feel I can't afford, would be upsetting to me.

First of all you’re not seeing the whole episode and they always say they usually don’t do that, but I’m sure they showed it to her and told her the price. What else are they supposed to do when the bride wants a very specific type of dress and the only dress that has everything she wants is $15,000. Some people are very demanding, but in the same token it’s a program and they are trying to make it more interesting for the viewer. I’ve looked up some of the brides after the program and some of them aren’t even wearing the dresses they say yes to on the show.

They will always tell the bride they are about to put her in a dress that if over her budget and they let the bride choose to put it on or not. I've never seen a consultant on this show if they put you in a dress that's more than a few hundred over your budget, not tell the bride the price of the dress because if it's not doable, there is no point to put it on. But alot of brides will put it on anyway.

Who spends that kind of money on a dress that’s only going to be worn once? I’m what is considered very well off financially and the price of these dresses are ridiculous. Now if it could be worn to more than one function then it might be a good investment but otherwise forget it. A wedding is just one day.

Maybe they are super rich and it is small change to them. It is their right to spend their money as they choose. It also provides employment for designers and craftspeople whose work should be appreciated and valued.

My whole wedding was 6k, my dress was $400. 😊 now it was planned in ‘87, I was married in spring of ‘88, glad I have a son.

Listen, I get that on your wedding day you want to look and feel like a bride. But you don't need to spend so much money to do so. They have plenty of beautiful dresses for reasonable prices. It will not make your marriage or wedding better if you get a more expensive dress, it's all in your head.

My dress was $300 and it was a white prom dress with purple flowers. I loved it. I rather use the money for honeymoon or buy a house

People spending this amount of money on a dress - are missing the point of getting married and of marriage.

that's why i love randy fenoli's dresses, absolutely stunning and affordable-ish (often under 3k, still a bit much in my opinion but tons (literally XD) than the 15k.

Is it more expensive to have a dressmaker/ couturier make a wedding gown in the US? Brides can just have gown copied or work with a couturier to design their gowns made within their budget. All gowns I saw in this video doesnt meet the price tags. Not really pretty.

15 years from now She say I can't believe I chose an ugly dress..

Important! The sales tax in NYC is close to 9%. The alterations are almost always expensive, even if you don’t ask for all the special touches they want. And the accessories tack on a lot, so a 3,000 dollar dress is easily 4500 once that’s all added in.

To be honest, I want to see the most expensive dresses on this show. Only because I just want to know what expensive dresses look like.

It is ridicouless and wasted money to pay that much money on a dress which is worn for one day... I ordered my custom made wedding dress in China at a big online shop. They requested many meassurements and I had a lot of changes like another material, more Bling Bling, a closer back etc. It needed three weeks to make it and including the shipping. It is/was my dream dress they made it perfect and it fits perfect. For all that I paid about 220 $ and they sent additional a fitting hoop 💝💝💝💝💝

They should do a show of how many of these brides are still married after spending a ridiculous amount of money for a dress.

Sales people always try to push higher because they get commission.

My daughter recently got.married i a stunning dress that cost £850..probably around $1000. She is paying £70 for it to be altered into a above the knee coctail dress.

So where's the 124k dress?

Got married at botanical gardens for free, flowers $0, great pics outdoors, dress was $29. Been married for 41yrs.

I paid 1200 in 1984 for my dress and veil, it was a cathedral length veil and dress. And I thought that was a lot of money. I found one in the magazine I wanted they want three grand. I said no way, but my father said if you want it, you can have it I’ll buy it for you. Oh no that’s a pay on a house.

Ummm It's her wedding, so the only person who gets to say what she wears is her. Also, the price of these dresses is ridiculous. I got married in Europe, the land of wedding dresses, and some were more glamorous than these were, and they weren't even this ridiculously priced. My parents would've bought me any wedding dress that I wanted, and were ready to go to France, Spain, and Italy, for my dress, after we checked out Germany and the UK, but I wanted to redo my white prom dress, but then I saw a dress on the rack, and a white hat, and I bought both, and redesigned the dress, and used the sash from the dress for the hat, and used my white shoes from my Senior Prom, and I still got married in a German Castle to a handsome American soldier, so it all worked out well, and my Daddy wanted to give me a huge Ukrainian wedding with all the works, and customs, and my Momma wanted to throw in all the German customs, horse drawn carriage, soldiers with swords over the head, etc... my parents wanted added, and I just wanted to get married, and not all the fuss, but I did want a perfect wedding for me and my groom, and a small simple wedding was just fine with us, because the next year we had our daughter, a child we were told that I would never be able to have, to spend money on, and we didn't mind doing that for her,and getting her things.

When my daughter in law was getting her dress there was a 15,500 dress in the store. I called it the MINI Cooper dress because that is what I paid for my MINI. My DIL paid 3,800 and 2,000 in alterations. My DIL looked gorgeous.

That’s insane for alterations!!! I had my pageant gowns made from scratch from photos for under $300

It's ridiculous to pay 15 thousand for a dress. Even paying 10 thousand is way too much. After the wedding you still got to live.

To want to spend that kind of money on a dress just shows what insanity looks like! That really should scare the h.. out of the Bridegroom. Stop the insanity!

The problem is these women spend more time caring about picking out all the "right" aspects of the wedding instead of the most important aspect of the marriage....picking the right spouse for the right reasons!! The wedding is about celebrating the union of a husband and wife to form a marriage, not about selecting the best caterer, flowers, dress etc or trying to out do all of your friend's and family's weddings!!!

The only dress i liked was the "great Gatsby" style one,but honestly, who spends so much money on a dress for one day??

Agree, So many choices. Especially even a 3k vs. 5K or 15k. THink Those who Are not part of an Intimate wedding said few will be be able to describe "the dress". They will be able to describe the setting, the yummy food or music, laughter. Sorry 15k on a dress just saddens me.

I saw a show a long time ago. Not sure if it was filmed in the US or the UK. Anyway, the show featured a shop where a bride to be was in the market to buy a used wedding gown. The original owners would go to the store with their used dresses and the bride to be would buy and reuse the dress. Not sure why they don’t have more shops like that around here.

There are baby pageants, toddler pageants, teen pageants, miss (young adult) pageants, Mrs. Pageants... then there's city pageants or town pageants, state pageants. Miss USA, Miss Universe and so on... so I don't think there really is an age when you have to stop competing. You just stop when you lose interest.

I think every venue should have a bidet, so no one had to wipe you. Plus maybe a toilet the is away from the wall with no back. Something to straddle, not available to men, in a private room that if the bride had to strip down, she could. Some of those form fitting dresses, there is no way to use the bathroom without taking off the dress.

If you wear a ball gown with a big skirt, it’s no problem unless you were stupid enough to wear stockings and a garter. I assure you that women peed back in the day, but they also didn’t wear underpants. If you are wearing a mermaid dress, you are SOL.
