Mom doesn't seem to have a problem with her being all grown up , but the best friend seemed shell shocked that the bride chose the dress without her input. The way she said that she would have to choose the dress was really irritating.

Agreed. The mom didn’t bother me, the friend REALLY did.

I loved the moment when everyone was gone and the bride quietly looked at the dress on the mannequin. That was so sweet and I'm so glad she chose for herself! She looked stunning!

The title made me think she was going to be a spoiled daughter but being in the military makes so much more sense

Yes! I thought the opposite though. I assumed that her family/ fiancée was overbearing (maybe mom was a little overbearing but there's been much worse, and she seemed to resign happily.) Knowing that she's been in the military made so much sense. I loved watching her

Lol I saw the salute in the thumbnail and I thought “she has to be military.”

She became STUNNING in her dress. Lit up and feminine, comfortable and confident.

She picked a beautiful dress for herself. She looks stunning.

“Everybody wants their daughter to be a princess.” This statement baffles me. Lots of moms seem to feel this way but LOTS DON’T!

Right? I think my mother would have rather seen me in anything BUT a cake-topper dress. She wore one for her wedding because that was the fashion at the time but she would have probably been shocked if I wanted something like that now. Never tried to dress me up as a princess, either.

My mom knew I'm anything but a princess. If she would've tried to get me to wear an excessive ball gown of a wedding dress I would have fought against her no doubt. I picked put my own dress and called her once I found the one I wanted. 21 years later I'm still not a girly princess but very much a lady🙂. I told our girls if they decide to marry and they want to wear tennis shoes and a regular clothing then I'd support them 100%🙂

Not me. Both my daughters wore non-princess simple dresses. It was their decision to make, not mine.

She looked absolutely stunning in all the dresses. Her smile in the one she chose was the real clincher.

That dress was classic - bride was gorgeous. Wishing her and the groom great joy. 😊

Poor Mom ??? The woman has an unhealthy attachment/ relationship to her adult daughter. She is supposed to bring her up to have a clear sense of her OWN identity. Love her daughter ?, yes absolutely..guide her ? yes but within limits of her own decision making capabilities, want the best for her ? without question, but decide what she wears ? Absolutely not. Not even on her wedding day is that normal. That was an unhealthy relationship and i pity her future husband. I hope he has a LOT of patience because that Mom clearly doesn't respect boundaries and she is going to be in their business constantly meddling and causing heartache for her daughter who will have to decide whom to side with. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I can relate to Sarah, I was in the military for 15 years before I met my husband. I had a friend who let me borrow a knit cream color knee length dress. We've been married 32 years. She chose the best dress, she looked beautiful.

Perfect choice that dress was made for her. She looked fabulous 😊

She chose well.

She did beautifully on her own. I really related with what she said about being able to be in the quiet and think to herself. It shows her personality. I found my wedding dress on my own and then took my family and friends to see it. I still got to enjoy the fun and feedback from those I love, and I got to make the decision of my dress on my own without the sounds of opinions from others.

I was so proud of the friends jumping on the bride train as soon as she showed some gusto.

Y'all need to remember what the bride does on a daily basis. What kind of work does she do and how does she dress for work. This one being a Military minded woman, so think Military and organized. She ended up choosing the very thing I would have chosen. Sheath or mermaid satin, no lace and minimal bling, but tailored organized fabric accents. She looked comfortable in it.

I'm very proud of this woman making her own decisions as a soon-to-be married woman. I also appreciate that although her mother may have not liked the choice she still only saw the smile and that is all that mattered to her. That's the mark of a good parent when you can put your own feelings aside and only concentrate on your child smile

I immediately wondered the same thing. As professionals I wondered why they didn't go for classic satin after the first dress

All we see here is her entourage giving the opinions and discouraging the bride. I like the way the bride takes things in her own hands and chooses and a dress for herself, taking back the reins of the appointment

Had not seen this segment before, so this was doubly a treat! Good for you, soldier!

These make me cry! My momma was so supportive of the dress that I wanted and got!! She didn’t really care what I got!

it's not the dress that makes the bride - it's the bride that makes the dress. It really doesn't matter which dress you pick, as long as you feel happy in it!

Definitly loving the dress she took, fits her perfect and suits her beauitifully.

In the end it was good she was left alone because it gave her room to breathe and think for herself. She clearly knows what she likes but she probably doubts herself because everyone around her is telling her "she doesn't know fashion"

I just ❤ this episode of "Say Yes To The Dress"!! In the beginning, my heart was very saddened for the bride to be especially watching her sit on the couch alone while her entrouge were shopping for her perfect dress. Then....Va-Voom, THE B.T.B. found her dress displaying right in front of her eyes!! 😊 And just knew in her heart that it was "THE ONE"!! ❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊 PERFECT!!!! She looked exquisite!! Best Wishes!

I actually liked the first one best on her, but I think that style-wise, her choice was much closer to her personality. And that is what matters. I also loved the fact that this time her mom, even if she did not like the dress, just went along with it as she saw how happy her daughter was, instead insisting on her choice. What's that about mothers having the last word in the brides' dress anyways? Will they have to wear it?

Well, even though I don't like those kinds of people, to be fair, the appointment started with the bride saying "I don't know what I want" So, I feel that the friends really wanted to help her. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@kerriethompson2073 Extroverts don’t always have lots of friends too.I am an ambivert and don’t have many friends. In life, I noticed many people don’t have that many close friends. But of course that is even more true introverts.

I saw that dress from behind the bride earlier on in the video and thought to myself that that was her dress, I was right

When she was sitting and they went to go pick dresses, I saw that dress behind her and was like “that would look good on her because the sleeves and neckline would suit her! Strapless dress with puffy bottom doesnt suit her body or her style” Then she started looking at it and was like “omg I hope she picks it!”

Mothers keep saying: "Every mother wants to see her daughter in a princess/Cinderella dress"... Me: "NO - I certainly don't." I want to see my daughter in a dress that suits her personality and it can be classic or boho or vintage if she's not a "girlie" type.

I've seen this one before. She looked lovely in the dress she chose - it was her. What gets me is, she said she wasn't girly, so why on earth would she want to be in a princess dress?!! Her mum had completely the wrong idea...and was just feeding her own needs, not her daughter's.

The bride was not very girly, but she had a fabulous shape. She looked great in everything she tried.
