I watched this first and then went to watch the first video because I hadn’t seen it and now I’m back to comment. Usher should definitely be A (minimum!). This man sang his songs live (which many halftime artists have not done) while dancing on stadium turf, roller skating and everything. It may seem like it had a lot going on but I chalk it up to the fact that this was long overdue for his career and he had a lot to work with. He was really trying to pull the best from his 30 year catalogue and pay homage to so many of the legends that came before him (I.e., glove off - Mj, guitar - Prince, swaying dance move - Marvin Gaye, etc). Also the beginning was a nod to Vegas where he just completed a successful residency and that’s where the show literally was. I think rewatching it can really help set in how hard this task was for him and make you appreciate it even more.
@houseonwillowbrook5 ай бұрын
the roller skates were a nod to a huge hobby of his. I've seen a lot of videos on tiktok of him roller skating. he apparently goes to roller skating rinks a lot in ATL. so I think that was cool. and it's also impressive he didn't fall under that much pressure tbh

I watched the whole super bowl twice, I live in germany so the game started at midnight and ended at 5am-ish. I fd my sleep schedule and went to bed at 4 pm the day before so i could watch it live by getting up at midnight and going to work directly after the game. It was pretty bad then, I was texting with some buddies living in the US and they agreed. I then watched it again that afternoon with my dad, alongside the whole super bowl. and then a few times over since then just in my free time and as background noise while doing chores or some such thing and it's continuously gotten better on each viewing. I loved alicia keys on the first viewing, the ending seemed really really weird to me with him just repeating the chorus without music but maybe I was high back then or my disappointment for the game at that stage got over me because it didnt feel like that at all on repeat viewings so yeah. its a pretty good baseline b tier performance in my mind.

I feel if this was either IN Atlanta, or The Falcons (Somehow) made it to the Superbowl. It would've set the Performance into the stratosphere with MUCH more Crowd engagement. What I feel was a major downside, was we just opened with EMOTION. Instead of starting with something to just slap your face with Hype, then bring it down with some emotion. But the Ending I feel was perfect placement just due to how hard it slapped (Or A-Town Stomped) the viewer in the face.

I believe you can set a public playlist with unlisted videos, it might be worth setting that up with the original first then all subsequent review vids in order, lets people view the whole set tidily enough!
Been waiting days for this!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I was soooo waiting for this, thank you
Given both the effort and quality Usher put in, I think this is A tier.
I consider this the "JT performance if it was actually good, or had effort" S Teir for me, one of the best!!

I have been waiting for this
It was a solid performance. I honestly find it ridiculous that people will meatride anything rihanna does and call this trash. Like what? His performance is so similar to what she did. Also its usher. He can sing and dance. What more do you want?
Glad your back
Wasn’t the worst but it was better then a few from recent years imo
Dude amazing vid
Great call on the ranking, Get The Edge.. still deserves respect on the B-Ranking for now. Man, I like your video ranking on the artists performaning Halftime shows throughout the years ever since that happens. Thank you
Would’ve been hype if PITBULL showed up and they did DJ Got Us Fallin In Love
Always come back for the Set the Edge e halftime review!
This came up once I finished your other one… on time 😂
so good of you if you keep updating your list :P
I think rewatching it can really help set in how hard this task was for him and make you appreciate it even more.
the roller skates were a nod to a huge hobby of his. I've seen a lot of videos on tiktok of him roller skating. he apparently goes to roller skating rinks a lot in ATL. so I think that was cool. and it's also impressive he didn't fall under that much pressure tbh
Usher was great!! Appreciate greatness while it’s still there!! He said, No pop songs in here 🗣️

Thank you I commented asking for this.
I found your channel because I rewatch a lot of halftime shows. Ever thought of expanding or ranking other stuff?
would you consider doing a tier list of super bowl commercials (you can stick to the national ones, i feel like local would be too overwhelming)
I look forward to this
this is one of the ONLY things I wait one every year after an halftime show
I loved the energy! It was great! ❤❤❤❤❤
This was my favorite halftime show in years. I havent cared since covid so this was a welcome change of pace
Instantly wanted to see where u would place it after it ended
Will you make a video on Justin Fields and why he didn't work out? Similar to the Trubisky one a few years ago?
Yes! I do wish he performed more and d j got us falling in love again, the latter is a personal favorite, I didn't recognize H.E.R and Will.iam But she was really good!!
Just put into a big playlist so it’ll still be publicly available Also exited for new videos
This was definitely A + it was a super fantastic show and also Michael Jackson is also A+ and in a league all by himself.
Don’t unlist it just update the title to be a reaction
Strong B or even a B+, bummed for those audio issues in the beginning. Alicia was on fire, and looked pretty good too :)
I enjoy the performance the more and more I watch it
It was EPIC!
this is like MY super bowl
You could make a playlist; first video is the full one, every update is placed next in said playlist.
I think uploading a yearly update is fine! Also if you're putting Gaga in S tier, you gotta put JLO and Shakira up there too.
Yep! I guessed your score yesterday correctly in the comments section under video on the official NFL channel.
Return of the king.
Okay, I agree with like, 90% of ur tier list. But Here is the reason why I think Usher's should be ranked higher, and for one reason. I was more entertained watching Usher then watching Emenim and everyone. (Me saying that I am a 16yo male who listens to mainly RnB, Rap, and Indie if that means anything rofl).
I Loved the show, made me go back in time
I would just leave this up and put all of them in a playlist
your placements of "???" without comment always make me cackle.
But the Ending I feel was perfect placement just due to how hard it slapped (Or A-Town Stomped) the viewer in the face.
yes was waiting for this. they were shooting for nostalgia but they let the guy who looks like he wasnt born in that era and didnt experience that culture and google what late 90s, early 2000s was like.
The Jermaine dupri part had me rollin
0:57 Can anyone tell me what is actually different between the two versions? I've rewinded it 10 times and still don't see or hear a difference? Am I blind?

Visually no different, but live her voice cracked and there was a decidedly off key note, which honestly wasn't THAT bad. I didn't notice until it was pointed out.
I enjoyed this one but that’s also cause usher was my favorite artist growing up
Why would you make this video unlisted?
Honestly I'm making your videos an annual tradition at this point.
Very good!
Usher is A tier , Respectfully
Yeah I'd give it a B+, like there was nothing really that truly stood out, like I still remember Katy Perry's giant robot lion or the rage at Sicko Mode, but at the same time, a very competent Half Time Show with very few flubs that harmed it.
Just keep it up! No reason not to! God bless you and your loved ones, may the Lord be with you and your loved ones, and let the Lord be with you and your loved ones.
honestly, I already forgot about Usher's performance, don't know if that says something about me or the performance. If anything the only thing I remember was the roller skating and the blue bedazzled get up near the end
I agree
The wardrobe for 2024 Super Bowl was bold and out there I like it but after hearing 1:52 looks like robo cop I couldn’t stop laughing epic final tho tern down for what has me excited
Damn I’ve agreed with pretty much all your rankings until here. Usher was incredible bro. High A to S tier
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
It was def A tier. The beginning of the set was wtf and the ending was wtf, but the mid section for like 8 mins was perfection (alicia keys to roller skating + beginning-mid of yeah). Could have had more crazy outfits as well but he really danced his ass off
Last year you changed a few rankings, none this year?
usher LVIII Super Bowl Halftime show was AMAZING! AND IF THET LET HIM, HE COULD HAVE DONE MUCH MUCH MORE BETTER, HE IS A GREAT ENTARTAINER! I dont know how much time ıt can take, but I WILL WAIT FOR ONE MORE AND MUCH MORE CREATIVE sUPER bOWL hLFTIME sHOW WITH uSHER, ı KNOW THE DAY WILL COME
i was a teen in the early 2000s and unironically think yeah is one of the most fun songs ever recorded so i had a blast w this performance, although i do think he tried to do a bit too much! there were too many 15 second clips of songs. i would have preferred longer sections of his biggest hits (and i know he has a lot of hits, that's part of the problem lol)
Yes, every song is a little bit too short. But it's the only NFL Half time show I keep going back and re-watch. i'm also surprised, as an Asian who don't live in the US, I know how to sing every song.
I made a video about my thoughts on the halftime show too. Kind of expands on what was said in parts
I ❤ it I guess bcuz I love him ❤️❤️❤️
honestly I probably would've liked it way more had he performed dj got us fallin in love. I was most excited for that as it was one of my top childhood songs just for him to skip it.
Thanks for the update, really like the series! For me (and the people I watched with) it was a low B to high C ... nothing especially memorable but nothing truely terrible either.
Okay but it is undeniable that everyone everywhere SCREAMED at their tv when ludacris popped up
