Used Toyota Venza V6 AWD: What YOU need to know before you buy!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Toyota Venza, first-generation, was a new breed of vehicle, mixing crossover SUV attributes with a wagon or a minivan. There is a lot of Toyota Venza still on road today, and they are legendary because of their good reliability! Many families will find it to be pleasantly useful transportation. In terms of size, the Venza falls in between two mechanically related Toyota products. It is the same length as the Camry sedan, shares the Highlander crossover's width and rides height. The Toyota Venza is available with four- or six-cylinder engines, as well as front- or all-wheel drive. A Toyota Venza AWD is perfect for winter! And all Toyota Venza features a six-speed automatic. The 2.7-liter four-cylinder produces 182 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque while the 3.5-liter V6 makes 268 hp and 246 lb-ft of torque. This is the same 3.5 found in other Toyota products like the Toyota Tacoma or the Toyota Highlander. The Venza V6 is more performant and fun to drive than the boring 4 cyl!
Most Toyota Venza was trouble-free, but be careful with those years if you decided to buy a Toyota Venza Used:
2009 Toyota Venza: Steering column rattle
2013 Toyota Venza: Moon roof/sunroof imploded
All Toyota Venza: Dashboard material warps
All Toyota Venza: Rotors went bad
So check out our car review and what you need to know before you buy a used Toyota Venza!

Bought a 2014 Limited with V6 three years ago. I've had multiple Toyota's in the past and this vehicle is my favourite. Reliable as the sunrise and powerful enough for the majority of owners and comfortable to boot. No major problems in three + years of ownership other than a passenger side LED puddle light malfunction. Fixed it myself for under a bill. These vehicles are a undiscovered gem often overlooked by used car buyers. Wished they hadn't discontinued this workhorse!!!!

Hi would you be able to share your experience with your 2012 V6 I’m looking at a 2012 LE today in 2024 One owner 75,000 miles very clean and I might just buy it but I’m concerned about the gas consumption oil burning and any other problems that you might report that some of the other channels reported which I’m not sure if I should believe but that’s why I’m reading the comments from the actual owners. Nice to reviews on left cars for support on the used car market. I bought a 2016 V6 XLE Limited used in 2016 right after Toyota announced last year in Canada. Main reason I went with the Limited model was because that was the only one that came with leather wrapped steering. You are correct that it isn’t really a sporty drive, but … it is very comfortable to drive in traffic. Lots of space when we go out full of family, and great to bring home lumbar from Home Depot. Been very reliable (I get service at the dealership), and totally dependable. I got smaller rims for the winter tires.

Thanks for answering that question. You can look it up online but to get an average mpg from a long time owner is much more reassuring…I bought a 2012 Highlander limited after I finished nursing school and I love it. I am a single guy with a tiny dog lol I don’t need the extra space most of the time. I kind if wish I considered the previous gen Venza. I was thinking maybe the smaller design would make it more fuel efficient V6 (hence why the corolla cross gets markedly worse gas mileage than the regular corolla which has the same engine. )My highlander is getting 21 mpg on average daily drive mixed conditions. Does AWD really scoop up a few miles? I know your cars must drive good…my mom always talks about how well my car rides…so maybe a 2015 one of these would do well. The V6 engine is so good, I don’t even think I would consider a 4 cylinder despite the gas savings.

She needs a smaller car for where she lives so she is taking my 2015 mazda3 hatchback with 109,000 kms and I am taking her 2011 Venda V6 with nearly 200,000 kms. We will see how long it lasts me as it has been a money pit for her. She dropped in $6000 in the last 3 years into it. If it lasts a year I’m ok with that as I am looking at a Subaru Outback as my insurance drops to under $90 Canadian a month. Of course I might go with a Toyota hybrid. I will see.

The only downside is the mileage, it really isn't good on gas. There is hardly any difference between town and hwy. On highway it doesn't get any better than 23 mpg at the speed limit. The 20" wheels look great but because the tires are so low profile they can be a bit rough over bumps. Overall I love it, and would recommend to anyone looking to buy a solid reliable used car.

They are all pretty much the same, but I would definitely recommend the V6 and AWD if you live in a Northern climate . I just bought a 2009 top of the line, low mileage with every option available ( JBL stereo ,Navigation, leather , double panoramic sunroof, smart key w/remote start) and got a great deal on it. You could probably get a slightly newer model with a few less options and a higher mileage and also get a good deal. Keep in mind, they have retained their value pretty decently.

I recommend the 2013 model year. Please check the steering wheel if it makes any creaks when you turn the wheel with the turn signal on. Mine makes this noise! Beware!

This is a EU-thing: We are „educated“ and somehow forced to take care about the environment. So, big cars (6, 8 etc. pistons) are loved, but damn expensive to drive for the early road-tax. As an example: I have an old Lexus RX 400h and I live in Switzerland. But only the road-tax (there is no assurance and nothing included), cost me 950 Swiss Francs a year. So this is about 1050 USD a year, just to have the allowance to drive it. This is a lot of cash for that. The governments do this - they say - to reduce the big private engines on the road. This is in one part true, on the other hand, the wisest thing to do if the environment is the issue, would be to just prohibit those cars. But.. this ist politic..

@@CarQuestion Yes. It‘s like everywhere: One party wants to prohibit big cars, the other doesn‘t. The compromise is, to leave it as it is but let them pay who want bo drive big cars. This goes to the tax cash and everybody is happy. Except nature. It‘s really stupid.

I actualy got a 2013 Touring V6 awd. I love the car, but nothing is cheap on this car when it’s time to issue or replacement part. And sadly, it’s not a bulletproof car. I got to change the motor gasket at 140 000km!😞💸💸💸
