Yeap!!! Love the Regroove. Gives you that human touch. I use it on almost all my lofi tracks. That or either record WITHOUT QUANTIZE. Thanks for the video

I learn so much from your videos. Stuff I'm not even ready for yet, but it's still good info to know! edit: btw part of that melody reminded me of Eric B & Rakim's "The R" (lol edit #2 ... which I now know came from a different song. but they re-recorded a lot of stuff to avoid samples)

Great topic! I still miss the musical theory on that though, like existing best practices of constructing grooves for various genres. It would be good to know which way to move snares and hihats, since it's easy to get messed up.

There really aren’t best practices. I think you should experiment with it and see which directions you like to move different drums. As I said in the video, you can rush the feel or drag the feel. You can use a combination of the two. I also believe that you’ll be able to sense when you’ve pushed it too far.

my problem isn't with regroove per se - but before its introduction you could get user groove from a clip and then apply it to another clip directly from the tool quantize panel which was fast and totally in line with how other DAWs handled it. Once they offered ReGroove they took that option out of the Quantize tool panel ! It's s**t like that which vexes my soul. I mean when Pro Tools introduced Elastic Audio they didn't remove Beat Detective. I realize that ReGroover has strengths and flexibility and that the concept is intutive but sometimes you just want to do a quick quantize without first routing channels.

Great tutorial as always. I have a question: how to convert SLIDE units to ms (milliseconds)?

Slides are measures in ticks, the same as used for note positions and lengths in the 4th place of the notation: Bar.4th.16th.Ticks. A tick is 1/240 of a 16th note. So a tick length in ms is 62.5ms/(current BPM).

I’m actually considering getting the reasons 11 rack. With that said, do you have or know of a video that would show me how to sample drums into reason and then save them in a kit or as a kit?

There is a way to record into every sampler. I can show you personally whenever you’re ready. 🙂

i wonder will the idiots in Germany who own reason indorse you? If they were smart, they would. In the real musician world, A real bass player plays off the bass drum. this also makes it so both are not hitting the speaker at the same time, and causing muddiness. Normally I say that beat makers are no talent idiots. But Not this girl. She has not only computer knowledge, but a musical aptitude.
