Reason user for years and never knew I could change the percentage on quantizing. Always just went off of the note measurement or made position adjustments by hand in the piano roll. Thank you for sharing that.
Thank you so much, your videos are so helpful. You are a great teacher and explainer which is not easy to do. You don't just explain how, you also explain why which sets you apart! Keep up the good work!
Oh my goodness this was driving me crazy, tryna remember how to dial in the groove. It's a button. Called groove. Ugh. Thank you sooo much!!
I love how i'm trying to make a different music to you (dark techno), but your tips are just as valid to me

I've got Reason Lite (and the INFAMOUS 5) but do you recommend Reason+ or buying outright for someone who is NOT a professional but with dreams of one day making music PURELY for the Buzz? I have several other daws but I do like Reason. Greetings from New Zealand

I saw your comment, and i thought my experience might help (i hope you don't think i'm rude or butting in or anything). I also have multiple DAWs across multiple computers (Mac and Linux), but Reason 12 is my favorite. So for a long time i subscribed to Reason Plus as well. Then one day it struck me just how much it cost, and how quickly that £20 a month added up to the cost of an entire other DAW! So having less money now, i went without R+ for a while, and i found that i could do most things with the stock plug-ins. The Reason Plus extras seem to me to just be alternative interfaces that do the same thing, albeit in a more fun way sometimes. So now i just sub for one month a year, download a bunch of the new combinator patches, and then unsubscribe again to save money. When i later drag and drop a combinator into a project, and there's a R+ device missing, i just replace that with a VST that i do have, and i've instantly personalized their preset! So while i would say to buy a more full and up to date version of Reason when you can, i personally would say to think twice about Reason Plus. I hope this is of some help to you.

@@BaddBadger thanks for your feedback really appreciated and I've just worked it out that reason plus is 35nz dollars a month and because I have the lite version it will take 19 months of reason plus subscriptions to actually pay for it in full so I just don't know. I think the best thing for me to know will be to do something I should have done a long time ago by creating some simple stuff in all of the DAWS I've got to see which one feels the best. I must say I bought acoustica mixcraft pro 9 couple years back and it was just so easy to use but I've also bought bitwig and PreSonus 4 pro and FL studio but I've always liked reason I don't know it's just always worked I've always found it easy to navigate but I've never applied my time in trying to create music long enough because I'm a fashion designer and that's how I get my money but because I now have renal deterioration on my last kidney I think I should apply my time better to music and trying to create some of my own stuff with something that has given me a buzz since I was 6 years old from an inspirational point of view. I don't care about making money or anything else but I just wanted to create some songs and music of my own and have lots of ideas but have been absolutely abysmal at time management and wish I could have gone back and done my life again the right way for music but never too late I guess. Maybe shouldn't say here but I do have the R2R reason 12 acquired from a friend but I just haven't got the heart to put it in for fear of what might happen or what might not happen so I shall stick with my reason lite that I actually got by purchasing a brand new and audio midi keyboard. Thanks for the heads up Have a fantastic weekend when it arrives.

@@StephSancia Yep, life is short and we should only spend it doing what we love. Unfortunately, the truth is that making music can be just as frustrating as it can be rewarding. And being bad at time management ( i bet i'm WAY worse than you) doesn't help. But it sounds like you already have some great tools. FL Studio is incredible in almost every way, and the free updates for life is no small thing. Bitwig is new to me, but already i'm seeing huge potential. And if you make sounds and patterns in those, then you can certainly arrange them in PreSonus Studio One. Maybe check out Reaper as well if you ever can. It's a little bit more in depth. But many people (including some pros) swear by it, and it's pretty cheap by any standards too! Plus you can use Reason as a VST inside it and have the best of both worlds. Take care yourself.

I don’t think Reason+ is worth it. It started off with a lot of feature promises and now it’s just presets and devices you may never use. You can definitely subscribe every once and a while to get the packs you want and then cancel when you feel you’re done with it. You’d pay more in the long run for the subscription than buying an upgrade perpetual license at each upgrade (whenever those come). I have to check my math, but that’s usually the case.
