Marcy, I love the stencils you have created, and I am going to try making some with heavy mixed media paper. I wish you had given the ghost prints more time on the plate before pulling the print. I have seen others leave the paper down for 5 to 10 minutes and pulling up most of the layers of interesting bits, getting more complexity and reducing the need for baby wipes.

Yup, I've seen that myself, but I've also had the paper get completely stuck to the Gelli, and then I've had to wash it all back off in the sink. I'm more about instant gratification so a few failed prints are ok rather then cleaning a big mess. . It's all experimental really, as long as you have fun with the process. I have been Geletin Printing since we made the plates with actual Geletin and Glycerin so since childhood, Gelli is a game changer and has opened up mono printing for so many people. I love any sort of print making I can do without a press because it's just so much fun. Have fun playing with your Gelli!

Marcy is it necessary to gesso the wood panel before glueing the print? And do you put a coat for finishing if the print is with acrylic paint?

Hi Arianna! If it’s a regular cradled panel, or art board, I just use the PVA glue as its going to act as a barrier between the paper and the panel. I like to varnish my acrylics with Matte Varnish to protect them.
