USC Offense was impressive as usual, but several surprising defensive lapses! Shouldn't have been that close!

With this Helton guy, how is one suppose to blame the team? It just sounds odd "USC sucks because they hired some southeast dude?" It sounds indecisive.

The blame always goes both ways. The coaches make the play decisions and the players have to execute. Most times it is the players who are not executing, or making mistakes that leads to losses and or victories. "If we only had Saban", I’m tired of hearing that. Execute what is put in in front of you, or make room for the position guy behind you that hopefully will...

Happy for the kids, they played hard and never gave up. Helton still needs to go. He has way to much talent for them to be playing so poorly. Imagine how great this team could be with a solid coaching staff.

USC vs UCLA was a great game. I’m of the strong opinion that USC should finish in the top 6 of the polls every season. The tradition and I refuse to believe the 25 best California high school prospects wouldn’t live to play for USC. The coeds alone are incentive enough. A vibrant PAC 12 is good for ncaa 🏈 longevity.

I’m an ASU alum and same thing happened to us first game against USC. Glad the Trojans won. I still want our conference in the playoffs.

Won’t happen this season. Pac12 is trash. USC is back though. Their defense is legit. They gave up some points against a UCLA team that puts up points against everyone in the conference, but USC’s defensive improvement has really brought them back into relevance. They always recruit some of the best skill position offensive players, but when they get a defense to go with it.... that’s when they do special things. Their D still needs to improve though and Slovis needs to cut down on the turnovers, but USC could have a chance at a playoff run next season. Not a chance this season, and I don’t even think USC will have a legit gripe about it either. To need a last minute comeback against UCLA isn’t good. Yes, the Bruins put up points against Pac12 defenses, but they would get dominated by a real SEC/B1G defense. It’s going to take an undefeated, plus uber dominant looking Pac12 champ to make it in the final 4 next season regardless because the Pac12 has really gotten bad over the last 5 seasons or so.

Even with a regular schedule with no COVID the good ol boys from the East find excuses to keep teams from the west out with manipulated rankings and so forth and I’m sure they don’t want to expand the playoff to 8 teams to include every conference champion plus 3 to make it fairer .

@@reubenblanco3021 the east coast bias is actually from national sports media like ESPN, etc. unless the west coast team is a team like USC. The NCAA is a business. If they figured they stood to make significantly more money by making the playoff expansion, they would do it. But why go through all the hassle if you’re only going to net the same amount of money? I agree with the fairness sentiment and the competitive nature of an equal playing field. I think the NCAA was seriously considering the expansion, but with COVID, it complicates things too much at the moment.

Love my Trojans, but this Covid ravaged season does not add legitimacy to USC’s 5-0 record. Nor does it quantify its poll ranking. And because this has been a totally unorthodox season, Clay Helton gets yet another pass. USC’s performance this year has absolutely nothing to do with Helton, but rather Graham’s offensive scheme. He should be the Trojan head coach.

Well considering last year UCLA was OCed by Chip Kelly and this year, they had to makeshift an OC, their offense is going to suck. They do not exactly have connections with a good OC.

I'm glad we won! But clay helton have to go usc should be able to compete against any team in the country. I don't even want to see them play against these teams in the south. We have to much talent and a ton of resources to struggle against teams like we do.

This is way different than SEC football

usc is not quite in the elite conversation yet but they need to work on winning these games more comfortability and they will be.

I chose to watch Repo Man instead of this game. I now regret that decision.

Any good PAC-12 team has gotten blown out by SEC teams. USC went down to play Alabama and they were handed the loss; Washington went down there (at one of their peak's), and they were handed a loss; Oregon went down there, actually, they played Auburn twice, and they were handed losses TWICE.

The only thing is that usc likes to win in the final minutes...but we should have smashed these fools! Pause....

I think Chip Kelly may actually get fired soon. Considering his last season, his team was able to at least beat USC; this year, UCLA not only lost, but they ended up losing half the games played.

I agree, he made around 4 atrocious calls in this game I'd be happy to go over. USC, being ranked 15, struggled against an unranked UCLA. That's because UCLA has talent, but horrible coaching.

We have to get back to that very aggressive, smart, smothering D. There was a time in the recent past that teams hated seeing SC on their schedule because of the defense. An aggressive, smothering, dominating defense will keep the other team off the field, wear down the other teams offense and give their offense opportunities to score.

Ohio State has the same record yet USC is not in the top 4.

I was yelling at the tv for them to kick it in the end zone. USC would have had to do a hurry-up offense with 50 seconds left and gain 40 yards plus to get in field goal range.

@@joeygarcia8295 UCLA played a serious game. You can't play soft of the WRs of today. Jamming and harassing then for the first 5 yards throws off the timing. If I see CBs giving my WRs 5-7 yard cushions I'll march down the field throwing stop routes. Plus UCLA tackled very poor. I made the statement it wouldn't have mattered based on the things you and I both said.

Bro, I'm a USC fan but I'd much rather not see them in the playoffs than have to watch them get throttled by Alabama like we did 4 years ago! We didn't play a single ranked team and we looked shaky against most of them, we had a miraculous comeback against an Arizona team who finished the season 0-5 and just got smoked by ASU 70-7!

It was a good game but I got the feeling throughout that UCLA was playing way above there heads sorta like very good High school team (UCLA) going up against a college team full of scholarship players.

UCLA won that game yesterday by a Landslide. They (UCLA) were winning in the 4th quarter then all of sudden USC had the lead. There were tremendous amount of bad calls against UCLA (Not GOOD). It was a fraudulent outcome last night. UCLA won that game by a lot I had many many friends calling me in the 2 quarter congratulating me on the win, then all of a sudden they say UCLA lost
