In less than 100 meters!🤯 I attended a five year high school and was a 100 and 200 meter guy, 400 meters was considered long distance to me. As luck would have it our senior men’s team didn’t have four guys and I was asked [read told], that I needed to run the 4 x 400. I blanched, I ran the second leg and I completely understand how that woman from Purdue felt running the anchor leg. My mind wanted my legs to move faster, but my body wouldn’t cooperate, I felt like I was running with a piano on my back and completely collapsed, after I passed the baton to the third leg. Sprinting 400 meters isn’t for cowards!

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve come back to watch this race. It’s one of my favorites. This is definitely one of those moments in Kendall’s life, where she can reflect back fondly. I envision her old and grey - with her grandkids - saying: “back in my day, grandma came out of nowhere and made up those last 30 meters and won the race”. They’ll chuckle and think she’s embellishing, but we all saw it happen. It was pure magic! ✨

It meant so many different things which gave me so many different emotions. The undying will to fight for something you believe in. The mindset to stay locked in until you get exactly what you want which can physically and mentally change your life. When you want a blessing from God. You fight and claw your hardest to receive it. @@virgo15goddess... it wasn't that they counted Kendall Ellis out, it was nothing against her. It's just that you don't ever see someone kick it into another gear at the end of the race in Track & Field. That was a rare occurrence. I'm glad I got to see that,it was amazing!! ✌

I’ve watched this clip dozens of times over the years. I love hearing the female commentator saying “Here comes SC “ and the cheers of the fans watching Kendall trying to catch up with the Purdue runner. Kendall Ellis has to be a USC LEGEND because of this race. USC(removing her pain at losing that same race the previous year)
