Rabbgod ...imagine a world elite marathoner, or Ironman distance triathlete, or top pro road cyclist. These people are fueled by desire and adrenaline to exert energy expenditures well beyond their ability to do in training. Their recovery time needed from a championship race is much longer than is needed from a training session because, in the competition, they exert far more than they are capable of doing in training. Contrast those efforts with Usain Bolt running for nine seconds in a track meet, or Michael Phelps swimming 50 m freestyle in about 20 seconds. These brief efforts require massive, and very very difficult training. The effort and intensity of the performance in competition, although much higher than in training due to desire and adrenaline, is not nearly as difficult as their training sessions due to “volume” or brevity.

Generally speaking, you train further distances then you actually have to run in competition. I’d imagine this applies to most sports. You train harder than you actually will be required when competing so when you actually compete, you are more than prepared.
This is the only guy who can run fast in his dreams.

Usain never speaks too favourably about his training. He comes across as being this laid back dude who is just naturally fast. “Work is behind the scenes. Competition is the easy part.” There are a lot of quotes Bolt says in here that can be applied to anything. The one where he says you wake up the next day and you know you have a training and it’s going to be hard, same thing can be said about studying or anything. Day and day out.

I was in high school when I first saw Usain Bolt race the 100m, and it was the way he pulled away from the rest of the pack and won by such a margin that impacted me. The fact he was performing at a different level, than the rest of the sprinters. That caught my attention and made me reconsider what is possible and the boundaries I placed on my own abilities.

The man who standardized excellence. Love and salute from India ❤
This contrasts starkly with his easy-going persona. When it comes to his chosen profession, Bolt is a maniacally dedicated and competitive. I tip my hat.
Some of the realest words I’ve ever heard: competition is the easy part...wow man

When you see an athlete sick to his stomach and continue to train that’s the discipline! God bless Usain, nobody gave him jack! He paid his dues and more than made his mark in track and field history!
anyone who has done sprint workouts knows what pain really is. it builds character.

@@michaelkariuki5350 I was just at track practice yesterday, we had to do 400/300/200/100/50 meter sprints(in that order). Each one of them killed me. Had to skip the 200m because my heart felt like it was gonna burst out of my chest. Running really takes a lot out of you, but finishing those races gives you the greatest satisfaction in the world.
"I dont wanna go but i gotta go. " Thanks for that man
used to love this growing up still love running
Practice like you’ve never won perform like you’ve never lost!
No words for his commitment hats off Mr legend, just single line he explains how much pain and sacrifices done behind every legend's success. U r real role model for every human being sir.
I found peace for my body running and I always see Usain to inspire me. Amazing guy.
Competition is easy part behind the scenes is where work is done, Respect 100-100
This one is gold!
Usain, you're the champ. so glad u gave us the chance to see the work behind the seen. You are a legend and you got there by hard work, perseverance, persistence and lots of faith... I've learned a lot by your example. I salute you!!
He is gifted! I think this is a great video for encouraging young people toward athletic endeavors. Great attitude and sense of humor carries him to such successful altitude; I would think it is hard to breath at that height. May he live a long life full of many providing sponsorships.
The only athlete I have a deep respect for his excellence in career and character.
I love the fact that he trains at lane 4, not any other lanes, cuz he knows that he is the best of all time
Golden words::: Work is behind the scene... competition is easy part..🙏🙏🙏

Usian is got some humour, yeah??? Undisputed Goat 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Nothing but talent and legends come out of Jamaica🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲most of the legends that has been crowned in Olympic its always us Jamaicans...Jamaica is talented in every way 👏🏽👏🏽

Amazing work ethic, very inspiring
Wow, what a physique! The "mechanics" of his build are incredible, he appears to simply glide by.

I know what I´m talking about, you are just too sensitive, you should probably do some running competitions, a marathon or sprint and if you are too lazy, turn the tv on and watch some olympic sports, then tell me who wins running competitions, right, black people.
