Yes but the USA offense is uninspiring. No difficult questions asked in the first half at all.

Hopefully the US Women Team will play with more cohesion before the world cup.They're slowly picking up though.

Was hoping for a bit better showing. This wasn't against a power team and lordy we need better cohesion. First half was all over the place and how many whiffs did Crystal Dunn have? Crystal sending souvenirs into the stands. Need a little more focus ladies, but you can do it!!

USA team is not lucky enough to get full Super Soccer Stars for this FiFa 2023. Marcario, Christen Press, Tobi Heat, Sam Mewis, Becky, Swanson... they are injuries! the most Strikers are Swanson and Marcario, if two of these players can attend in USA team for this tournament, i strongly believe we (USA) will get FiFa Champion Cup 2023 ! hihiih

This USA team is well rejuvenated and lacks experience. There is no doubt that it will be strong in the years to come but for this World Cup, the English team will be the favorite

Nobody, including me, is shocked that the world has caught up with the USA on female soccer talent. But, perennial domination the likes of Brazil, and Germany, and France in the mens game should not be lost on the womens game. Yes, there are now other really good womens national teams out there but, the USA should not be looking or playing as sloppy as this. 75% of the reason we beat other national teams wasn't because we were faster or more athletic, it was because we did the little things better more often than they did. Our passes were crisp and on target, our scoring chances challenged the goalkeeper and weren't wildly sailing over the crossbar, and set plays meant real chances to go ahead in a match. It's no secret that domination is no longer realistic in the womens game for the US, but, we can't play like we did against Wales and hope that we're gonna win The Women's World Cup.

I mean Germany Norway even Brazil was kicking our arse in the early 2000s. I think the field is narrowing overall but the top teams it’s always been tight

Would have expected the US to win by a considerable scoreline here, but Wales made it very difficult for them and put on a spirited defensive performance. The Welsh keeper was brilliant. The US dominated possession, but seemed to struggle to do very much with it in the first half. The second half was somewhat better, but the team is still looking a bit rusty. When they finally click into place, they are going to be exceptional and very difficult to beat.

Nicht mal 3 Pässe können die machen, immer nur mit langen Bällen nach vorne. Die Flanken sind eine Katastrophe. Die Abwehr wirkt unsicher. Ich denke die goldene Generation ist vorbei bei der USA. Ich denke sie schaffen es nicht bis ins Viertelfinale. Das einzige was man loben kann: die Ecken waren nicht schlecht und Frau Rodman ist ein großes Talent.

Their performance only got better when they put Rodman, Williams and deMelo in and removed Morgan ,Thompson and Hatch

If I was Vlatko, I would make a drastic change to the roster by utilizing his alternative list to reconstruct the roster so that the team can sort out its disjointed and sluggish offense. I'm taking off Rapione, Thompson, Lavelle, Sullivan, Ohara, and Huerta. Hatch for Rapione, Weaver for Thompson, Coffey for Lavelle, Powell for Sullivan, Krueger for O'hara, and Gordon for Huerta. Rapione and Lavelle our not in form or game fit which would be wasteful for a healthy and functional body. Thompson has potential but her game isn't refined enough to contribute a lot to the team. She only has one gear and needs to scan the field before trying to take on everyone. Sullivan is a great leader and ambassador for the game but offensively she's very limited. I don't think her teammates trust her to handle or ignite the offense. If you rewatch the game they refuse to give her the ball. We need Powell because she's defensively solid but she can also make the tight passes and dribble around defenders. We need someone who can connect the middle and right side of the pitch The offense was imbalanced; it ran mostly up the left pitch. O'hara is great but we need a speedster to help out Girma, which is why I would take Krueger over her and Huerta is not quick enough to keep up with our opponent's fastest player. Gordon is physical and very athletic and can probably keep up with anyone.

Very very true my friend.hatch for Alex,Morgan weaver for senior citizen rapinoe.Kruger for Huerta.sonnet is a liability for our team.she will create a p.k. For the openent team for sure?.

This right here. So many of these cuts are pointless to watch. There where 2 or 3 cuts of people just mishandling the ball out of line. Why even add that? It feels like the editor may not have a lot of knowledge about the sport.

Considering the fact that Wales are not even in the top 20 FIFA world ranking, while the USA sits at number 1, I think Wales did great. They offered very little goal threat and I hope the US isn't going to assume their defence is OK for now. Teams like France, Sweden, England, Germany and Spain aren't going to give their defence this respite. Just as the US attacked wave after wave, those teams do the same. All the best to the defending champions.

Some of the NWSL teams play better together then this US World Cup team. I don't have high hopes for New Zealand and Australia. Here's hoping they prove me wrong.

USA offense is uninspiring. No difficult questions asked in the first half at all. Not like the uswnt of the past. We will be hard pressed to beat Spain, Sweden or England in the world cup.

U.S. looked vulnerable at times. Against a stronger side they would have given up a goal or two on the counter. There was a little bit of home cooking in the officiating, which was to be expected. Wales was supposed to lose big, but they held their shape well for most of the match. The goals they gave away were unfortunate, but considering the level of each team, it is to be expected. All in all, they did remarkably well. As for the Americans, it is obvious that they lack a creative midfield. They have fine players, but I don't see them overwhelming their opponents as they did in the past.

If this is the USA team in the worldcup, they are in for a rude awakening.

Was really only 1-0 as well given that the second goal would have been disallowed for the clear foul in the build up…if the Red actually had a clue about the rules of the sport.

They played well just terrible shot taking and crossing. Dunn dominated the left side but without Swanson moving into position they look clueless. It wasn't until Rodman got on the pitch that the whole team played dominate. Would not call this a terrible game. But it does show the US can dominate as they had way more passes, higher possession and a ton of shots.

Nah, the opposition just got way better. You can't expect them to win by 5-0 or more scores anymore. They controlled the match and did just fine. Nothing to worry about.
