Not enough credit for the Welsh defense from the very US commentators. Brilliant second goal! Wales did well to keep them out for so long. The selfless first assist from Smith was a delight. Great vision.

Correct on the defensive effort of Wales, but the 2nd goal was a foul. Can't put a shoulder through the back of the player with possession. Not a great game by the U.S.

First goal was way better,

I don't think you are looking at the whole picture with Sanchez and Demelo! With Andi lack of passing skills and the majority of the offense ran thru Horan on the left side of the pitch, it's difficult for the attacking mid to establish a flow! If you had Coffey or Ertz at the six, you would see a better balance which would free up Sanchez and Demelo to create. In addition, the wingers in the first half were going three on one and not making the right play. Either Vlatko or his staff need to have a long talk about having a balance attack on else, teams will figure us out.

Who in the world is Demelo? Is she a player on the US women's team or some made up crazy contraction or abbreviation for someone's name? I've never heard of Demelo.

Both insane goals...cant say she is a nepo baby with those skills

not very convincing against a team that didn't even qualify for the WWC. Seemed like a lovely day there - I hope someone has let them know that it'll be about 50 F and raining when they get to NZ...

Before the 2nd goal a blatant push in the back, not called.

Obviously ALOT to clean up, but liked the pressure. A little too aggressive at times, but showed determination and toughness.

don’t worry, USA will 100% win WC lol no other team better than them.

I hate to say it but just not feeling it with the U.S. team this time around. Too much turnover and new faces. Just don't feel the cohesiveness as before. Hope they prove me wrong and play well though! Go USA!

I share your ambivalence. I believe it is a very bad sign when the US women need over 75 minutes to shoot the first goal against a team that ranks in 31st place in by FIFA. Everybody will look great against a much weaker opponent. The praises on this page for USWNT are sorely misplaced.

The gift of deciding matches is in Trinity's DNA!Her daddy must be proud! And her second one was just spectacular!

Rodman's entrance changed the game. Brought more speed and opportunities in the offense and forced the Wales defense to stay more on their half.

Should be a very competitive World Cup…..

Trinity is a force. Can't wait to see her in the World Cup.

If you don't agree then think of it this way, imagine the effects on the team, going into a defense of the World Cup, with a loss to Wales. Still an important game...

Also please give us a legible reason why you hope that the USA does not win the final. Do you hate the USA? Or do you hate the USA women's football team? Or the way they play? The shoulder to shoulder contact was outside the penalty area and shoulder to shoulder challenges are not infringements. Basic soccer. In a vacuum, I'd call the foul on the second goal. But in a game where getting tripped when through on goal isn't even called, let alone a red card, it isn't a foul.

@@frenchchicken2799 I watched it , in slow motion , from 10:10 to 11:10 . She was hit from the back , not the side, she went face down on the grass and didnt move. I would be tempted to say she got concussion. If you dont know someone is running up behind you , as you are concentrating on the ball , and they slam into you , you are going to go flying , easily or not . Any player tackling that dangerously from behind in the WWC, will get booked , minimum. But then , we both have our opinions. Right or wrong.

I wouldn't normally watch women's football, and after viewing this game I can see why. The football was of a very poor standard, with all the sloppy passing and finishing. Frankly, I've seen under 15 boys teams who play better football then I've seen here. Needless to say I'll be giving the upcoming Women's World Cup a miss.
