The US was not even remotely as committed during the Korean war as they were in WW2. The peak US force in Korea was no larger than 300,000 troops. In comparison the Chinese peak strength was over 1.4 million people. In Europe the US send several million troops. Even with that huge disparity in numbers the Chinese were defeated multiple times despite their superior numbers and the war ended in a stalemate not a loss as you said. In Vietnam there were no Chinese troops in any meaningful number. The US was undefeated on the battlefield.
