Ойын-сауық

Benjamin Cremaschi has shined for the Miami club and Jimmy and Heath take a look at if he deserves a call up for the USA but with Messi joining in on the recruitment of the young star for Argentina, the Stars and Stripes may have a tough time.

He'll have to make huge strides in his development to become viable for Argentina. It's not impossible considering who he gets to train with, but pretty unlikely, and definitely won't happen by '26. He might be able to help the US in '26, but he may still not want to commit by then if he's holding out hope that he can play for Argentina.

I will continue to argue Crem isn't good enough for Argentina yet. People forget Argentina has lost 1 game in the last 4 years, that was vs Saudi in the WC qualifiers, this is the BEST national team on the planet. (45 games ) There are 5 Argentine Under 20s on each continent that are better than him in his position, that'd be a very bad call to bring him in now . If Messi wants him i get it but i think it's a bad call.

Not only is he not good enough now, he probably never will be. I don't want to put the kid down but it's freakin Argentina we're talking about here. They churn out generational players every other year. That's the caliber he'll be competing with. There's probably a dozen players just like him if not better in their league. The spotlight is on him right now because he plays alongside Messi. The way smarter choice for him would be the US. But if Messi is in his ear, I hope he's not selling him dreams.

Born in the US, had opportunity here, playing in the MLS. I would hope he chooses us. However, unlike the folks who go play for Mexico, at the same level of the US, he's getting looked at by Argentina. That is clearly such as better team than any Concacaf team that I have no problems with him going there if he truly has a chance to start. Yet the talking heads are right, he's not ready to do so there as Messi wasn't, by far, the only top notch player on the WC winning team. He's still young. If I was offering him advice, it would be to stay at the youth level, avoiding that final commitment to either team, until he grows more into his skills.

We should remember that before the starting of Scaloni' tenure we didn't know half of the guys he appointed, and Argentina ended up winning three (!) International Titles (Copa América, Finalissima, and World Cup ...) ... On this grounds, putting down Cremaschi's capabilities and/or prospective evolution as a player is borderline with temerity... There's simply no way to visualize how far Benjamin's (and Allen's, by the way ..) career and development as players will end up ... Both are learning from Busquets and Alba (regarding their relative positions in the field) ... Do we seriously think they're not taking their chances at every practice and game ...? ...

With all due respect to Cremaschi, but he doesn't have what's required to play for the Argentina National Team, or at least he hasn't showed it yet. At his age, most of our players already had passed though all the different stages of development, from getting into the children's divisions form our league's clubs, to playing in the Under 15, 17 and most importantly, the Under 20 National Team. At 18 most of our players are well established within their teams and some of them are already playing abroad. He has missed all of that, and on top of that, he grew up in a non-competitive environment and league. If he can show he can be consistent with his performances (not what we saw the other day against Sporting) and can stand out from most of his teammates and be the best in his position in that league, maaaaaaaybe he might have a chance to get a call for our Under 20 NT, but he'll have serious competition. Cheers from Argentina!

london based liverpool fan since 1987 here.. alot of people dont realise.. alot of the top 10 nations in the world core players are ageing.. the next time the world cup comes around their players will be on the way down.. argentina yes they won the world cup but by no means are they the best team out there....they stumbled into the final and were terrible in the games leading up to the final.. they barely scraped through the group stage.. if they played france 8 times they'd lose 5.. it was pure riding their luck and messi.. messi's done for the world cup and wont be around for the next and they've got next to no stand outs afterwards.. the majority of top teams are now stuck having to go through transition to be ready for 2026 which in itself takes 2 - 3 years.. usa started early - the last world cup. the footballing world took notice of the usa because while the top teams were stumbling around relying on the same players from the last 5 years the USA team had the youngest team there yet produced probably the most exciting football in the tournament ..literally... they just lacked experience, squad depth, a pacey centre back and a striker for starting 11.. build up play was on point but no No 9 to finish.. Footballs changed now.. the gap between the top teams and the rest has closed alot as the top teams have got worse, brazil, germany, spain,Italy etc while the lesser teams have got better.. the only stand out in the world is france who are pretty stacked.. England will always flop because they're England its just what they do...talent but cant handle pressure.. Last world cup was fascinating because you could see USA FINALLY seemed to understand the intricacies of the game, you could visually see them switching systems, tactics in game, lulling the opposition in, setting traps etc.. They basically played the jurgen klopp liverpool system - high press "geggenpressing" - emphasis on energetic midfield to press the oppo into submission - USA the young legs to do it..they pressed teams to death when they were employing the press..they clearly had the best pressing midfield in the tournament.. just no solid attackers outside of left wing pusilic This is were it gets interesting and I can understand the major league soccer push.. 3 years from now if they continue on their current trajectory and get more european based stars in the MLS it will push the american players level up ..3 years from now the next world cup is played in the states..the core of the team will be mid 20s where the other top sides will have new players with next to no experience... USA i can see being a dark horse for the world cup with the home crowd support..any team thats gets there will be looking to avoid meeting USA til semi or final ideally. This whole Messi to MLS thing aint by accident... theyre up to something over there... america seems to be getting football now.. europe will be starting to sweat - the cats out the bag now..
