Could you explain what you’re shooting at exactly ? Someone has located you and has launched missles on your vessel right? I see usually they launch 2 or 3 missles but I’m confused do they not shoot a lot of them ? Shouldn’t the system be launching everything ? Sorry just not in military and it looks cool lol

@Paul Tam I am talking about a specific battle not some war. Where did you read war? Don't you know the difference between a battle and a war? What are you trying to pull here? So you were not there and it seems you remember nothing about that engagement. If you had been there you would have seen one single 1960s Made in China easily defeating an entire US fleets defense ... Oh wait no. The US defeated itself. ;-) Yes we all know for a fact US CIWS activated tracking the target and opened fire. On the USS Missouri where US sailors ran for their lives. A fast reset while a actual missile did not wait around but was getting past the defense perimeters? Yup a US pilot had to eject cos his aircraft was turned into swiss cheese. So US Phalanx has always failed in real combat. Remember who did a one shot one kill preventing the USS Missouri ending up on the bottom of the ocean with how many crew onboard? You say you are sure. But if you do not name or provide evidence I am calling BS and total fake news. My 7yo would have called Avengers assemble. You can ask Captain Kirk about that and how he was beaten easily.

Well, the main purpose of a CIWS is to take down incoming threats. So the CIWS is actually the one saying "That's adorable" to the incoming missile or aircraft.

レーダーも備えて21連装のままにしてしまうと、土台の駆動装置は共通させてるわけだから重量が増した分だけ旋回性能が落ちるなり、過負荷により故障が増えたりやらするやろね。重量バランスを考えればレーダーを備える分、トレードオフで弾数は減らさざるを得ないんだろう。 まぁ、そもそもこれまでの戦訓とこれからの脅威予想からCIWSが撃ち尽くされてしまうような状況って発生するのか？って思う事もある。 要するに、求めれば際限は無いって話。 結局はどこかでトレードオフが発生する。

@@tiktik7804 そもそも近接防御システムが使われるってことは、電子妨害や防空システムによる迎撃が失敗して後が無い、本当にヤバイ状態。 米軍の場合、物量と金に物を言わせてイージス艦でガッツリ艦隊を組んでカバーし合うんだろうから、装弾数は問題にならないんじゃないかな
