Polyester, a chemical building block of polyurethane that provides high resistance to solvents and good mechanical properties, will provide the following properties:

-Strength against sliding abrasion
Polyether, also a chemical building block of polyurethane, is sometimes used in place of polyester, providing high resilience and hydrolytic stability and provides the following properties.
-Higher compression rebound
-Resistance to colder environments
-Better dispersal of heat build-up
-Strength against impingement(collision) abrasion
