Exploring Abandoned Restaurant and Inn - Haunted
I am back and with a new video of this abandoned Restaurant and Inn. Built in the mid 1700s as a house, this historical colonial provided years of life for families. In the 1800s, the house was redesigned and added on to. In the mid 1900s, the house was converted to a retirement home. IN the late 60s, it became a restaurant known as Deveraux's Fox Crest Inn. Then in the 80s, ownership was passed on and it was called Crier in the Country. Operating as a Banquet Hall, Restaurant, and Inn, Crier in the Country was a famous stop for local residents. One thing that made this place interesting was that it was very haunted. Workers reported many sightings, noises, and spirits in the building, especially on the third floor. It is said that these spirits are from two people who lived in the house in the late 1800s. During my visit, I just had that wierd vibe exploring this house. The feeling someone was watching me. Although I did not see anything or hear anything odd, it was still odd to walk through. The Restaurant closed its doors in 2007. From that time, the place sat vacant and decay set in. The building was badly vandalized. IN 2014, the township approved plans to put a Life care facility on the property. In 2017, demolition began and the entire place was torn down. Today, it is currently a plot of land waiting for development to start on the new Senior living home...

    I am back. Sorry for the extremely long delay. Lot has been going on with my life which put my KZread videos on hold. No i didn't die, get hurt, or anything like that, just been super busy with my personal life.. I have been keeping up with the exploring community though. I have seen some fantastic videos of other explorers being put out. Some of them, the editing is amazing. For me though, I plan to keep my style. I have been active on my facebook and Instagram though so if you are not following them, please do so. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this new video

    This was my grandfather's favorite restaurant. We ate with him here on it's last day in business. I came back to explore it a while after it was abandoned. It was pretty sad, but a lot like I remembered it. Sad to hear they finally pulled it down.

    This is Joey and Lisa's dads old restaurant on Route 1 in Concordville, PA. Joe Deveraux Sr. He took some pics of me and Lisa back in 1967 or 68 right at the front of the Inn there after kindergarden at Westtown-Thornbury School. Years later, Joey Jr. was killed in an auto accident as a backseat kpassenger just before his junior prom up on Boot and Burke Rds in Exton. I lost touch with Lisa after her marriage to Rich Culbertson back in the early 1980's. Its a real cry seeing how far gone the Fox Crest has gotten, I really cant watch it all Steve.

    Diane Jones: It was a really well kept property back then. I remember facing the front entrance and looking thru the windows to the immediate right and seeing all the diff. tables set up w/ standing white napkins and cut glass water glasses. ALSO To end my memories on a positive note-- Less than 2 yrs. after Joey Jrs. passing, Mrs. Jackie D. ( Joe Srs. wife )had a baby daughter.

    Holy Shit. I remember seeing the other video of that before it was removed! From that time on, I built a really crappy version of that house on Minecraft (this was a couple years ago, so my building skills weren't exactly great) It was basically a concept for everything except for the front since I thought the shots weren't that great. Now that I'm seeing this and that my skills have improved much more, this is inspiring me to recreate it in Minecraft again. Sad to see it long gone now ;-;

    Just imagine being 14 yrs old in 1993 and you are a Bus Boy carrying a 50 Lb tray on your shoulder full of dirty plates and silverware down those stairs at least 20 times a night. Memories. Some nights bus boys would clear $70, if not more, in 1993. No one ever went upstairs, the staff claimed that there was an empty Rocking Chair; that’s all I remember; the Basement was just as creeping, as in Blair Witch Project creepy. The place made the Best Food. I can't remember the family that owned it. I remember the Mother of the owner, she was an absolute force and was super awesome to work under. Looking back I have nothing back respect for the owners and staff that made that place work. Someone unfortunately ate a part of my finger. I cut-off a significant part of my left ring finger when I was assisting the sous chef with cutting up fresh calamari. 😂 I bleed everywhere. The chef the following night taught me know to hold a knife 🔪 for preparing food. No one was going to 86 fresh calamari for a piece of human skin 😆.

    That was my grandparent's restaurant, so I'm sure our paths crossed at some point (I would've been 7 back in 93). Jerry and Cissie Iannucci were the owners, and 30 years later you still remember how much of a force she was-- she still is, at 91, and my mom is the same way, it's hard to keep up! Jerry passed away about 8 years ago, but I think KZread still has the episode of History Channel's "Haunted History" he was on (s01e12). The ghost's name was Lydia, and I ended up naming my daughter after her. Funny you mentioned Blair Witch Project, as the actress from that was a server at they're other restaurant, The Town Crier in Upper Darby. My mom showed your comment to Cissie and it made her day. Thanks!

    So glad you got to explore/film this place that no longer exists. Shame that it was let to decay after so many useful years to so many people. I can barely discern it's "Colonial" roots as it has been altered way too many times. The staircase looks original and possible a few fireplaces and the basement walls, but that's about it.

    Well at 9:40-41 Steves favorite part the basement we see a ball of energy shoot by him and follows him all the way till the end . If you catch it freeze frame its like a lot of these possible spirits the image or face is always last part you see in other words its in the back so they are flying backwards or I believe these are transportation energy devices that carry spirit energy like a piggy back ride- just a thought. :D that entity followed Steve like He owed it $20 lol seriously from 10:30-50 approx. might be the best looks you will ever get up close at an anomaly of this kind, if you pause at 10:45 you might see it while 2 faces pop out on each side of the light that's a spirit car pool !
