One of the most creepy explores I have done with loud bangs while inside. Built in 1757, this massive property consisting of a house, barn, and stable is slated for demolition. This property dates back to the late 1600s as part of Williams Penn's land grant. The original part of the house was constructed in 1757 and an additional was put on in 1910. The last known family lived in the house until the 1970s. It was passed around before being sold to a local archdiocese. They used the house until 2008 stating it would cost millions to repair. It sat empty for many years after. Today, the house was sold to a developer and the developer already has demolition permits for the house. Residents are trying to stop this from happening as well as the planned 55+ community. The fate of this house is unknown.

Pennsylvania along with most other states are losing too much of their past; their historic structures that show where we came from. Once they're gone, they're gone. I live on the small farm that I was born on and my Dad and mom farmed and that I now own. When I was growing up our farm was surrounded by large dairy farms on all sides. They're all gone now and I'm surrounded by housing developments on three sides and an industrial park on the other side. The spring fed farm pond in the woods that we used to camp at, fish in and ice skate on is gone now, filled in to make way for cookie cutter plastic houses. The large spring in the farm that used to be behind me that had good ice cold water flowing out of it and forming a stream that ran down through the meadow where we used to catch minnows and crayfish is gone, filled in to make more space for the clone homes of today. In warm evenings of summer we would sit out on the porch and listen to the whippoorwills, bobwhites and the calls of great horned owls and barn owls. They've been gone for decades! There are no more box turtles, toads, frogs, salamanders, barn swallows, bats, snakes or pheasants.......ALL GONE! The smells of freshly worked soil, the sweet smell of cut hay.........GONE. The quality of life........Gone! I've been told "that's progress," I think not, at least no to me!

I'm with you 1000%!!! we are loosing Mother Nature and all I will say is,,,,,,, you don't what you've got until it's GONE. People had better wake the hell up and start demanding Marshlands around their neighborhoods, and woods, and streams, the bees are having trouble, places in Europe are culling birds and squirells like they were a disease!!! spraying PESTICIDES ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE and KILLING the very Earth that provides us life. One more time in case you missed it,,,,,,, You don't know what you've got until it's gone. Better wake up folks.

@@megenberg8 Thank you for your kind remarks. I was truly fortunate to be raised in, what at least to me, was a bit of paradise. It is sad though, still living here and knowing what it used to be like and what it is like now. Many people would call this "progress" I'm certainly NOT one of them! I long for things to be the way they used to be though I know that can never be. I feel sorry for those who will never get to "live in paradise" even though they will never know what they missed and most won't even care!

At the same time I have to admit the place would be money pit and I wouldn't want to make the payments and do the work needed for its upkeep.---Somebody, please at least save the woodwork and other fittings that can be used and appreciated elsewhere.---Those noises: sure didn't sound like the sounds older buildings make; so sharp and loud. There was some energy or effort behind the making of those noises.

Sounds like the metal door to the coal chute slamming into its iron frame on my childhood home in Wyandotte,Michigan.when the autumn wind would howl and push it open, then when the gust subsided, the impact of the door closing would shake the stone and mortar sub basement with a level of Wahaboomm!!! That made the entire house buzz from the raw force of it,I suppose. Discovering what it was really didnt help all that much. Just plain wet yer pampers violently loud and never predictable.Kept us all pretty stressed as I recall.

Anyways Man I dig your work Steve you were one of like four channels that I could always count on for stellar film technique & quality video and never shy away from the well 'unexplained' element of a local, lol, and you have some nerve my friend, that first bang seemed like heavy footsteps to get your attention followed by a SLAM maybe they were shocked because you didn't run. Really nice location ! Thanks David

Great bathtubs, love claw foot tubs! Also the windows and panel walls are in great shape. The bedroom with the sun coming in with the fireplace on the left was so pretty. Hope they take the good items out before they tear it down. Seems to be in good solid shape for its age. As for the door slam sound, I think someone was up above trying to get you out. It's a good idea to have a buddy or a group, but I understand the being alone reason too. Thank you for braving this!

Wow! You are a brave soul, I wouldn't have stopped, probaby gone to the source of the bang. Closed every room door, including cabinets explored. If the sound continued, and if a door was reopened. Then I would have left. Something definitely didn't want you there. Glad you are out safely sir. Thank you for the scary video.😫

Cool old house!! Looks a lot smaller from the outside. Is that the first time in all your years of exploring that you have encountered unexplained noises? Have you ever seen things you couldn't explain? Great seeing videos from you again!

Just swung by the house this afternoon, sad to see it got fenced up and vandalized in the last week. I've shot a few movies on that property over the last three years (was hoping to do another), it's a really cool place and I've had a lot of respect for it. Never went inside the house, haven't heard anything about it being haunted either. Those noises were freaky though! Hopefully the property will get saved somehow, we'll see. Awesome stuff Steve, thanks so much for posting this.

I think the houses is going to be demolished this week. They brought in the fence last week and started removing all the boards and certain valuable stuff in the house.

I think it’s stuck in appeals at the moment. Basically it looks like they’re prepped for the demo but nothing’s fully approved. Hopefully there’s still a chance to save it, but the salvagers tearing the interior apart hasn’t helped at all.

This could be saved, it would be a great gem and a write off for the developer as its history and is beautiful! At the least take the pieces that are salvageable so it’s not totally lost. I would love to live in it!

Thanks Steve btw. Great history and dialogue. I love abandoned videos. Without history they are always lacking no matter how good the photography. Love the spookiness too! I was just thinking about the beautiful places I've seen abandoned and I wondered why. However, as of late I think "what kind of evil must have happened for it to be so uncared for" I guess I watch too many ghost shows. Or is there more evil in the world than any of us ever knew?
