@The River Ninja Let's be honest here... If it rained THAT much and THAT hard for it to raise a small 10-15 foot creek/river by 8 inches - AND to also be so in a short time span... You would have way more thing to worry about than just rising water levels and you would be woken up long before water levels even started to rise - by myriad of things other than rising water levels.

Have you ever thought of taking up fishing, with this weather and the end of close season it's so perfect. I know its not for everyone but whilst camping you can't beat having your rods out and some of the best camping spots are along our rivers. Along the Thames there's so many golden spots where people don't pass and you can spend a night or 2 in sheer bliss and peace. I've spent many times with my ledger rods out, set up a tent and used the Thames to swim, down Chertsey and Weybridge ways the river is a lot cleaner than most people think. It's thriving with so many species of fish that require clean, clear water to survive and there's nothing better than cooling off and knowing you can then just go back to your tent after, whack Netflix on and enjoy a few beers
