UPGRADING my Home CRYPTO MINING SHED!

Ғылым және технология

Back in August of 2023 I build a Home Crypto Mining Shed at my Electrican's House and it's run Fantastic! However throughout the Winter and Fall I noticed alot of heat was reaching back over onto the cold isle intake side. Well after doing some research and testing we found the Problem! With the communities help, we came up with some great ideas to keep my Bitcoin Mining Shed going, so it's time to make Micro Changes to get this working well. First up is addressing the heat in the Peak of the Shed.

    Great solution. I thought I addressed my high temp issues, but as soon as we had a few warmer days, its back to the drawing board. Trial and error is absolutely what this is.

    Loved this! As summer approaches, heat is an issue again. Especially if you've added to your farm since last summer. I've been trying to figure out how to cool the garage this summer, now that I have another 13 card rig there. The garage door has those windows at the top, and I've considered building custom inserts for them. Something that would allow me to "open" the window and put a fan in front of it. Those little 8" infinity fans would work perfectly.

    Anxious to see what you work out for to power costs. MetEd just applied for a rate increase so when they get that it's gonna make it harder to find cheaper supply side.

    Good video. You are absolutely right, its a lot of trial and error. What is the difference of your intake temps at the ASICs vs exhaust temps at the exhaust fans before and after the ridge fans? That is the metric that matters the most to gauge if the ridge exhaust is helping and if they will be enough. You could very well just be sucking out the heat in the ridge area but still mixing too much hot air with the intake air. I understand you need content and this shed journey make for great content but I still think your best best is putting in a ceiling and creating a hot/cold isle. There is a reason the large farms/hosting facilities use hot/cold isles. The solution scales down to our mining sheds as well.

    Thank you for the inspiration! I have a project that I am about to undertake. My plan to deal with heat (In TEXAS) is to Utilized a Leanto foot print along with a cold(Intake) and Hot (Out dlow) partition on the inside. Keep the videos coming

    Great Idea. You should have no issues with Texas Heat, As long as you have loads of airflow that is recycling the air in and out quickly.

    Hey gave this advice to my mining buddy also with asics. Home depot just released these pretty large high CFM EVape coolers from pretty small to large. No condensation and throw 1 or 2 of them in the corners and i think we should be good during these summer heats having them run. i am throwing my first s19k pro into my shed soon and going to throw one of these in my shed to start instead of the split unit i was previously going to add.

    I thought you may run two ducts from two of the exhaust fans up to the ceiling to draw that heat out. Where do you host. Or where would you host if you didn't get a discounted rate from a partner?

    No cameras on all 4 sides? I'd just unscrew the venting and crawl thru the side :) Add in a motion detector inside; maybe motion detector near shed as well.

    I do also have the options to FLIP these Inline Fans and that would bring in another 1600 CFM. Right now I am only using passive intake.

    Why don't you have any roof vents to allow hot air to escape? Maybe some vents in the roof allowing the heat to just escape up and out would have worked and you wouldn't have had to buy those $199 fans and the power everyday to run them. Just wondered why no roof vents.

  • @TheHobbyistMiner

    @TheHobbyistMiner

    I talked about the roof vents in the video. Because of the negative pressure, they would act as intakes, not exhaust. Good thought!
