What are the fees for having Terra Hash host miner and can you start with just one miner?

Can you give a complete breakdown of all costs involved for the unit shown. For setting up (out housing), electricity used, cables etc etc. And anything else you can advise. Looking at mining as a complete novice in Europe.

In the UK due to our crazy electricity prices to run 3.5kw for 24 hours would cost £20GBP (around $25USD) so if i owned one of these and mining an average of $16 a day then i would be in the red by $9/day

Spain is almost the same.. running this for 24 hours costs 11,03$ making profit 5$ a day.. not even worth looking at

3500 watts!!?? I'm screaming that like it's 1.21 jigawatts! My god. If this thing makes $16 a day and it's a super beast, regular home miners must be making virtually nothing.

I think there is a math error at 15:25 in the video. You initially said your profit "after power" was 12.66 (13:55). You cannot cut the 12.66 in half because it includes electric. Your electric doesn't cut in half at the halving. So you need to take the earnings before electric, cut that in half then subtract electric.

Maybe I came off incorrectly, that is my fault. You are correct. With the halving the intial Revenue is cut in half. Than you remove your same electric cost. So to be clear $16.90 Now in Revenue would be $8.45 than remove your electric per day $4.24 = $4.21 Profit after the Halving if Bitcoin stayed at $48,000.

In Niagara Falls Ontario, a place that has 2 large hydroelectric plants, electricity during the day is between 10 - 28 cents per kwh. Why is Canada so expensive!?

Correct thats why Bitmain will be creating new more powerful miners to sell to everyone for the next 4 years and again in another 4 years and so on.

Going over expenses, what about the internet cost? Gotta account for everything.

seeing as the btc price is hovering around 65-71k lately, you must be making good gains. But after the halving I suspect btc will need to be in the 90-100k range to retain the the $16 ish per day revenue. Would that be a correct assumption?

I am doing well right now. Halving you never know. As the price rises so does the daily profitability of the miner. If Price goes up and Hashrate falls off because of older machines turning off because of the halving. Thats more profits again.

wow, i'm shocked how little your hugely elaborate setup makes compared to staking other altcoins. Consider the cost of the shed / electrician and maintenence too and not just the raw electricity. Here I was thinking I could make $5 a day sticking a cheaper unit into my wall outlet. Nope.

It is a bit like back in the clondyke days - the only people that were making the monies were the retailers of pick axes, shovels, saws and on and on!

Im currently getting into ETH mining and I bought myself a VTRETU mining rig, and 4 RX 580s, Im currently running hiveos on it and mining etherium, but it seems to not be profitable or least Im not seeing a real return atm. Is there something that would be better, Im currently running 65 mh. But I have the ability to add 4 more gpus at a later date.

My electric cost in San Diego is around .55 $ so I guess it would not make sense to mine in my area

What I found out is he pays way less for power than I do. I pay .12 /kwh. My roi would be over 2 years and thats if it works the entire 2 years.

OK, my question is how often do you have to replace this unit with the fact that every year new units are coming out that are even faster. My guess is every 3 to 5 years. So I wonder just how profitable it is and how many you would have to have to make a profit. You’ve got a factor in all your other cost like the building everything that went into the building wiring it Getting electrical run to it and other cost. So to me it sounds like your first 3 to 5 or 6 to 8 years you will be using the money you make to break even with all the other cost you’ve had to incur. So by the time you broke even on your first initial cost now you’re having to buy new units and update them. Plus along the way you gonna have maintenance cost for upkeep and other things that will come up with power supplies going bad your units going bad from time to time so I can’t help but wonder just how profitable They can actually be

5 cents per kWh is amazing! Are you taking taxes and fees into account? My electric bill says 8 to 9 cents per kWh but then when I take the taxes and fees, it raises it to 12 cents.

I'm kind of sketched out buying one of these miners from china with crypto or a very specific wire transfer. Its sketchy you cant use a credit card in case you need to charge back/you got scammed. You just send $4k in btc and hope it comes one day lol

Usually they price their ASICs to just get your money back and maybe a bit extra.

How does he have .05 kw/h?? Using Latin American hydro power from a dam is .047... And seems kinda odd that he has miners at Terra hosting when the fee is .095 kw/h.

Hello, you used five cents per kilowatt hour as a cost for electricity. You did not calculate in the delivery cost of the electricity. Typically in our area that total delivered cost including delivery is $.10-$.12 per kilowatt hour.

Your energy is half of the price of the average cost for electric in any part of the country.

After looking into this for a bit im pretty sure picking cans and bottles out of peoples recycling is more profitable than this. Thats even considering having a solar setup getting free energy it would take 3 years of pretty much constant power just to pay off the miner. What if the miner breaks then your down big money. Good luck but I think im gonna pass

5 cents a kWh? Nope. I’m aware of what electric costs nationwide, there isn’t a single place in the USA that’s that cheap. 13 cents is about rock bottom and most looks more like 25-40 cents, unless you have some sort of independent energy production like solar or wind on you’re property

Those are some useless burly locks on the doors. The hinges and screws are on the outside. A cordless drill and the doors are off. Nice clean setup though.

my neighbor is 28 years old and an electrician/electronics tech and he made 260k last year working 51 hours per week. It seems like you're trying to cheat a system that he maintains and you make far less money. Perhaps you might consider working for your renumeration.

That is not entirely accurate. When I do my testing and metrics I never use Bitmain numbers, I alway do my own testing. My testing was done with Ambient Temps of 49F/9c and at the wall it produced 3535 Watts.

Assuming BTC is 40k. It can go down to 10k in a matter of 1 week and so does your "profits". Pretty average to say the most, there are much much better ways of making money out of $4.7k investment into a crypto miner. Also, how about the cost of setting up that rig, the shed, all the breakers, cables, fans etc.? That's in the thousands again. This will hardly ever return you any money.
