I love love love clean wiring! I guess if a “electrician” lives there thats what u get! 👍🏼 I tried to warn u 6months ago that you weren’t going to have enough air flow (comment probably got lost in the mix). Not even the T16’s are going to be enough (unless you add way more than 3). You’re also gonna need a lot more intake too. Those plastic gable louvers are restrictive and costly. Everyone way underestimates how much airflow they need. Put your hand behind a ASIC and feel how much Airflow it produces. You have 9 ASIC in there now so ur shed needs 9x that much airflow to keep it from heating up. I agree right now while its freezing outside, its beneficial to have warm air circulating inside for a constant temp. 90’F in winter is a big warning sign though. For the shed to work in the summer and stay cool inside, you should be able to stand inside and feel the air blowing through it. Its gotta be constantly flushed with fresh air. Otherwise you’ll have heat build up 👍🏼

I have run into a similar heat problem - yes install 2 exhaust vents along with what looks like a vented ridge cap - right now you are going backwards - you are trying to exhaust heat out the bottom - heat rises - reverse the fans at the bottom to pull air in and exhaust out the top - that way even with no fans running - it will naturally exhaust the heat somewhat out the top- in the bottom out the top - 😁👍

Hobbyist, I think roof vents would be a good idea so you can vent out excess heat in the summer. A design/shape roof vent that doesn't allow rain in obviously. 😀

Yeah thinking 2 or 3 active vents pulling air out. So the hot air doesn't pocket.

Thats a Gambrel gable/roofline just so you know. I would recommend an inline fan blowing out you attic vent over the door. Attached to a duct with multiple perforations that is secured in the peak of the roof. Remember you have a lot of electrical and a semi flat roof section you want to put a hole in, not a good combination. If your roof doesn't leak now don't mess with it. An 8in inline pulling the length of the roof should help you dump the heat and you can slow it or shut it as temp drops. AC Infinity 8in will mow about 800 cfm. Good video!!!!!!

@TheHobbyistMiner Look at the 12:00 min. mark and pause, There is already a small vent in the top. Modify it to hold one of the fans you are changing out. Now, do the same thing on the other end of the shed and have one push and one pull. Now put a 2.5' X 3' overhangs at a 4/12 pitch or similar downward angle. This will prevent blowing rains from reaching the vents. Use your own judgement on how to do the over hangs, but, This puts two of your 14" fans to use and those will easily run clean up duty on the heat. Just remember the little outcrop/over-hang can be mounted after you build it, use lightweight 2x2 instead of 2X4 if you'd like, and thin 'ish plywood. Then use the peal and stick roofing to cover it leaving about 1.5" of it hanging over the plywood on all 3 sides. It's easier than it may sound. Ill post pics of the way I did my shed soon, not mining out of it yet though.

Hobbyist, i sugest using a ceiling vent which connects to a tube and put it close one exhaust fan so the negative pressure of the exhaust fan pulls the hot air out from the ceiling and you also can keep the tube during cooler days.

  • @TechManTY.
    @TechManTY.6 ай бұрын

You need a ceiling and insulation. You are leeching summer heat on the shingles into the room(which you have enough heat) you can verify this with an ir gun.

That is a legit concern. In my GPU location it is so hot in the hot isle that the tar from the roof started leeching back into the underside of the roof.

So this Shed doesn't have heat wrap on the walls like my new shed I bought. Has that reflected silver look. That helps with sun heat soak from the roof and walls. I am thinking of active roof vents first like the AC Infinity inline fans mounted up high. Than if all else fails a "ceiling"

I'm also dealing with heat and exhaust issues. Will be adding more exhaust and intake to my garage this weekend. For your shed i would agree with others that a roof vent should be able to help with trapped hot air.

Lack of snow on the cable to your shed means it was too low in diameter and the impedance is too high. When in 100-150 AMPs range you should go with 35mm^2 at least.

I would add two tall roof vents on the intake sidebof the shed. Place them about 2/3 up the roof to left cold air in. Use a burning encent stick to map out the air flow coming in through the roof vents.

Roof vents would be good to allow the heat to naturally expel, but could result in it being an intake at times as well. Foam insulation board across the top and sides of the rack extending to the exhaust wall will help a lot, and you can cut out holes and create plugs, so that during winter times you can pull the plugs and allow some waste heat to recirculate, and during the summers, plug them so its only new air intake. I've managed and helped build a handful of enterprise mines, and almost every one of them has enclosed exhaust hot aisles.

  • @TheHobbyistMiner

I am thinking the same thing. Roof vents while good would pull air in, because of the negative sir pressure.

My concern there with just passive vents, is it would turn into an Intake. Because the shed operates with so much negative pressure. But I could add an Inline fan there and suck the air out

@@TheHobbyistMiner what about putting a small AC infinity vent there in place? Could use the dampers to control how much air is going out and how fast the fans going right?

Also... two of those 16in fans as exhaust at the top of each end of the shed would be able to suck out all that hot air... and you could have those 4 x 14in fans as intake, perhaps variable as per internal temp and then run positive air pressure... just a thought

My simple suggestion: instead of fighting natural convection, why not use it? 🤔 Have the bottom fans add cool air from the outside and add large fans in the attic to remove the rising hot air. Before you go ahead and buy fans for the attic, you could even run a test in which you just open vents up top and use positive pressure from the bottom to check how it would work. But since humanity has been using horns for as long as they have been living indoors, this just might be worth trying 👍
