Upgraded Veloster N DCT exhaust to Manual / Stick Shift - Cheapest upgrade you can get!
Been a long time since I posted vlog/video on my 2021 Veloster N DCT with Full N Performance Parts.
I love everything about this car from the factory except for a bit of drone/sound of the DCT exhaust.
Having single straight pipes on my Z and so on, I had a bit of thirst to make the car louder.
And found the easiest, cheapest way to do so, without having concerned about dropped performance, legal issues, etc. - got Veloster N Manual / Stick shift exhaust, the earliest model(the loudest) and installed on my VN. Everything else is stock and most likely I'd keep the car this way from now on.

Let me know how you like seeing some vlogs of my cars and stuff I do with cars, car events I go to and so on. I have a bunch of vlog videos that I'm saving up until I get enough of subs and traffic for KZread algorithm to know that I focus on Genesis, Hyundai and Kia cars, but have the feeling that the system is now aware of my channel being such, I want to throw some of my vlog stuff on the channel, too. Hack no! Cheapest mod I'd say, but seems like the price in NA seems quite expensive, so prob go with a used one :) I had it on for about a year, no problem road tested for 20k km

Sounds great on both , manual just a little louder and more aggressive. Wish they would stick to the louder setup , we don't buy these for them to be quiet 😈

Amen to that! SS is definitely louder, especially with pops and bangs, crackles. The pop sound went over the GoPro's mic limit, killed the high pitch sounds in the vid :'(
Really want a Veloster N, but been deciding on DCT or Manual, so I really enjoyed this video. Call me crazy, but I love the sound of the DCT more.

Can you confirm if the change was made after 2020? I will be buying an oem exhaust from a 2020 manual I just want to make sure I’m not buying the same that I have now on my 21 dct

Sounds amazing obvious upgrade I just bought a 2019 veloster n 6speed about a week ago I had no idea the dct exhaust was abit more tame! I have to admit I drive very aggressive because of that exhaust it almost encourages you to be hoonigan! Lol!

They both sound great but the manual exhaust is slightly louder with deeper bubbles. I assume they will be using the DCT exhaust is the upcoming Kona N? Have you gotten your hands on that car yet?

True, more pop & crackles, definitely. Kona N is not out yet, I'll be there asap when it becomes available. As for Kona N's exhaust, it'd be DCT's and from other sources, it is almost identical to that of VN DCT's
The Automatic version probably has a Particulate filter fitted and a catalytic converter (idk how many cells) to probably quiet down the exhaust I think. This happens to some European cars especially Audi wherein they incorporate a soft limiter. Good thing this didnʼt happen in this one :)

Quick question, did you change the full exhaust? I noticed it is a 3 piece exhaust. Or did you just change the muffler part to the manual version?

Just the end muffler, using manual's as you've said.
Hey what's happening I've a 2020 Hyundai veloster turbo r spec I've changed out the Mufflers and exhaust tips it's loud enough for me and it sets off cars alarm lol it's pops gurgling and burbling especially in cold start please continue showing more of your videos thanks a million 👋👍🙂🚘🤣😅

Pardon me for the late reply. I put my exhaust back to stock, the DCTs. What a nice upgrade it is, the manual exhaust.
Maaaaan if this doesn't affect the warranty then I'm 100% going to do it.

Check with your dealership, but honestly, it looks 100% identical on the outside, and they probably won't be able to tell. And after all, it's a Hyundai genuine part without a tweak

When I put the part number in hyundai direct it says it doesn't fit should I still buy it

Unfortunately, I can't guarantee you anything because I have no clue what the systems are like where you are. Although I'm pretty sure it'd fit. I'd look for junkyard or get a used one and see how it does - if it doesn't fit, then sell it back :P
Whenever I look up this part it says it doesn’t fit the 2021 model that doesn’t matter correct? I’m still new to cars and stuff

As long as it's the same part number it should fit the car. SS and DCT are just a direct replacement, nothing required, plug and play.

Given DCT being an automatic(like), the customer persona on DCT were counting in the factors of this car being driven to shopping, school, work, day-to-day lives = need to be quiet + fuel efficient.
I wish my q60 have that sound 🤨

Well, the sound note was too close to compare or approve a purchase unless this pipe flows more cfm and produces more hp I wouldn't approve a purchase for myself!

Everything inside is the same except for that sound absorbtion materials in the chamber, no drop/gain on the performance as it's just the end of the exhaust that gets swapped while everything else stays the same. There are many VN DCT's in Korea with the swap with hours and hours of mileages on, there has not been one single issue. This is Hyundai genuine part that goes on the essentially same car after all :)

I can order it straight from Hyundai in Korea, but if you can't where you are, probably getting a used one would be the best option

Shouldn't be a problem since it's fully stock and legal from the factory, isn't that the case in Canada? - it is in Korea! Miss Vancouver btw, I finished my high school there :)

@@CarSceneKorea You wouldn’t like it now I’m afraid. The VPD are targeting loud exhausts and handing out Vi’s for oe, unmodified cars as well now. All performance cars are being targeted. If you drive in Vancouver and are in N mode, or even sport mode, expect a ticket. I stay clear of downtown now and only drive in normal mode if I need to drive through downtown.

Could they still give you a ticket although it's fully stock from the manufacturer just for being loud? Not the Vancouver I remember...so sad :(

@@CarSceneKorea Agreed, it’s not the Vancouver of old. Even in stock form, the police can and do still issue you with a Vi (vehicle inspection) ticket which can not be contested and will cost the driver/owner $171. Even though the result is that your car is found to be stock, you would have still have paid the inspection price. Total madness I tell you.

WOW thought Korea was the worst country to drive around in mod cars. Here, so long as it's stock, cops, any govt entities can do nothing. I mean it is from the manufacturer who went through all those tests before being on the public streets! Hurts to hear that. True N starts with that annoying exhaust sound! (A pleasure to us) Hope things get better! Cheers!
