💬 Upgrade Time: Platinum Pro VS Elite PnP Adaptor | TECHNICALLY SPEAKING
#tuning #ecu #haltech #haltechTECH
The old faithful Platinum Pro Plugin ECU has been around for over a decade and the fact that it's still being made, sold and supported is a testimony to its original design.
Of course now, with the Elite Series, there is a newer, better alternative but does that make the Platinum Pro obsolete? In this episode of Technically Speaking we ask and answer this very question using a real life case study - Motive Video's Nissan R32 GT-R.

Thanks for your help guys. Can confirm the ECU upgrade was very much worth it for our car before continuing development. Flat shift is epic, drivability is improved with all the long term fuel gtrim and improved sensor reading at 9000+rpm helps too

Just from that opening shot, hey that is Jet.
All respect to the Aussies for Haltech...
Thanks Scotty and Haltech for some kick-arse content!
fantastic initiative for consumer orientation to the technology available, how it works and also why it will work.
Great informative video as usual with thanks to Motive and Haltech for taking the time to explain so much. I would love to see the Haltech technical opinions on the SR20, similar to the review they did on the Barra 6 about a year ago.
Well this video has come out just in time. I have been going back and forth on doing this upgrade now or next year. Guess I will ordering mine this week! Thank you very much!
Scotty you're the man! Ciao from Italia! 💙🇮🇹
I have a question why dont we see turbo timers much? 10 years ago every turbo car had one is this because most new turbo are ballberring and its no longer needed?

Newer turbos are watercooled aswell as oil cooled, so they don't need the same cool down time as the big old school oil cooled turbos

All depends on what you are doing with it... but most were fine after a min or two drive to switch off.

Yeah I was an apprentice at tuning company in the early 00’s and the lads there said there boys toys your not smashing the boost to your front door and if you are your neighbours must love you 😂
Would be nice if Haltech made an official PNP Elite for the genesis coupe.
Not all Elite series support DBW throttle. A previous video said they all did as this one implies. It was months ago I rang but I think it was only the elite 1500 (4cyl) & 2500 units.

The couple of videos I've seen mention that DBW function is only in the top end Elite ECU. 1500 or 2500 sounds about right
I love this. but please send me the old Platinum Pro for my R33 GTST
Awesome video! Any plug-in solutions for the 1JZ NON-VVTi in the pipe?

You guys said the elite was good for about 30 psi. But on the website it says it has a 3 bar map sensor. Wouldnt that make it good up to 43.5 psi?
question about the drive by wire i know in the chrysler vehicles that i work on day to day have drive by wire but the customer stepping on the throttle in those vehicle is more of a request for throttle, are these types of drive by wire controlling actual real time throttle input as the driver presses the pedal?

From what I have been reading about DBW is that from factory the response is made for the "everyday driver". If you can access the ecu then you can change the DBW response time to suit the driver.
Very Nice
Good shit THANX Scott 🙌like, share, subscribe. hit the bell 😃much love from the states
Is the Haltec plug n play? Does it learn the engine and upgrade it by itself? Do you have to get it tuned? Dyno tuned?
@haltech
Жыл бұрын
Yes it's a Plug'n'Play unit. We recommend you always get your new ECU dyno tuned to get the best results.
thats great and all, but when are you gonna make a harness for the NC Miata?!???!?!!!?!??!?!?
