(UPDATED FREEZER CHALLENGE--PART 2) GOOLOO GT4000 VS. LOKITHOR J401X

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today, we revisit the deep freeze test for the Gooloo GT4000 & Lokithor J401X. In the last freezer video, the Gooloo GT4000 was unable to jump start the Cadillac V8 with the preheat technology in the freezer test. We are giving the Gooloo GT4000 another chance to redeem itself in this updated video. We brought the Lokithor J401X into the test to have a comparison angle to the video to see how both units operate in frigid cold, and to see if there are any differences between the two jump starters.

Just to clarify, we did, in fact, have a defective Gooloo GT4000 with the preheat technology. Not activating in below freezing temps in a few different videos. We ordered a new Gooloo GT4000 to verify if we had a defective unit or not, and the new Gooloo GT4000 works perfectly with the preheat technology activating properly. We had a few other viewers mention that their GT4000 was acting the same as our defective unit with the preheat technology, not activating. So obviously, there are a few defective units on the market (like all products). Also, just to clarify, I am not one to bad mouth another company, I just post and review what I experience. Gooloo is an outstanding company that makes great portable jump starters. Unfortunately, a few defective units slip through the cracks every now and then and get shipped out.

I sure hope they got it corrected as I just ordered a gt4000 from Amazon. I was just hoping to get a new one instead if something they rewrapped! Thanks for passing that along. So I should chill the unit and that will test its heating element to charge - again, thanks.

@semlohde1 All the GT4000 units were not defective, I was just one of the lucky ones to have a defective unit. If you want to test the preheat technology, you will need to keep the unit in frigid temps for a few hours before use. Read the manual in reference to the preheat technology. Let me know how yours works.

According to the specs on their web page the Lokithor J401X has a WH of 74. I will double check when I get home and look on the actual J401X model and see what is says. But the J401X is a great unit as our videos show. I appreciate the comment. I will double check the WH, but it looks like it's 74WH. It was actually not easy finding the WH on their website, but after a few minutes I found it.

Just having ordererd the Gooloo GT4000S today, I might be off track. Isn't there a heating indicator right next to the snow flake icon, as if the snow flake would just be a low battery temperature indicator. Shouldn't that heating indicator come up while actual the pre-heating procedure is active? Also, shouldn't the display show the pre-heating temperature right next to the wattage display? Both didn't light up during your test. Checking out the Gooloo US Official Store, it seems that the GT4000S only is equipped with the cold battery warning indicator, while only the GT4000 (without the S) is equipped with the "Most Intelligent Pre-Heat -40°F Start Tech", for whatever reason.

The snowflake indicator means there is low temp technology. The Gooloo GT4000S does Not have low temp technology, the Gooloo GT4000 does have low temp technology. When the temps are too cold the Gooloo GT4000 will display a snowflake showing the unit is cold, then after about 100 seconds the low temp technology is supposed to activate and warm up the unit, then you are able to jump start in frigid weather. The snowflake indicator should not illuminate if the battery is low. If you need anymore info please let us know. But if you live in a cold climate the Gooloo GT4000 has low temp technology, the Gooloo GT4000S does not. Thanks for the comment

@@HM_RELOADED Sorry for the late reply. I live in Germany. Amazon only sells the GT4000S variant which I returned. Seemed, that the variant with battery preheating is not available in Germany at all. So I ordered a GT4000 at Aliexpress and got it shipped from Poland. To test pre-heating - I was all curious about it - the unit spent 24 hours in the freezer. Took it one minute to heat its energy cells from -15 °C to +5 °C, while its capacity dropped from 100 % to 96 %. No opportunity yet to jumpstart a car. Just took the opportunity to upload a short clip showing the procedure: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hn2ExY-yirK0lLQ.html

Your gt4000 isn't preheating. When it is heating a temperature in celsius is displayed and a little heating icon shows up beside the snowflake. Without the booster cables plugged into the unit you need to turn the unit on and hold the boost button, this should enable preheat mode if necessary.

We did that on and off camera, we believe we have a defective unit. We did everything, trust me. Lol. We are in the process of ordering a brand new GT4000 and we want to see what happens to that one. There was one KZread video that shows the GT4000 preheating without being hooked up, then i have had other people tell me it shouldnt matter if the unit is hooked up or not, it still should have preheated. But as i said, i usually test things on and off camera extensively before and after making videos, just to share some info. All the other units i have tested with the preheat technology preheated and worked great when they were hooked up to the battery. But we have testes all the units on our channel with preheat technology on and off camera. Watch our newer videos on deep freeze test and the Gooloo GT4000 does preheat when its hooked up, but it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to preheat for whatever reason. Our last 3 videos on the Gooloo GT4000 were the deep freeze videos, the Gooloo GT4000 was able to work in frigid temps, after about 15-20 minutes like i said. The first video the GT4000 was not able to jump start. Thanks for the comment

@@HM_RELOADED That's unfortunate if it's a dud. I watched all 3 of your freezer videos and didn't notice you turn the unit on without the cables plugged into the unit and then press the boost button, figured I'd mention it.

@freakerss in the videos I attached the cables to the battery, and the GT4000 still was able to preheat after about 15 to 20 minutes, that's hooked up. I said we have also tested the GT4000 off camera when the GT4000 was Not hooked up, and we had the exact same results. So we are assuming we have a defective unit, but when we get the new one we are going to extensively test that one as well, hooked up or Not hooked up. When you say the GT4000 can't be hooked up in order for the preheat technology to work, my other videos show the GT4000 hooked up and the preheat technology was able to work after around 15-20 minutes. And the kicker is, after I tried the GT4000 when it was hooked up and the preheat never worked, I put the GT4000 to the side of the hood as my video shows throughout the video, and the snowflake never disappeared (GT4000 was Not hooked up) and it still never activates the preheat, until around the end of the video. Also, in the manual it doesn't say the GT4000 has to be unhooked or hooked up for the pre heat technology to activate. It just says when you're using the GT4000 wait 100 seconds and use the unit in frigid weather, or after 100 seconds you could push Boost and try to jump start. So the videos online and the actual manual are a wee bit confusing at times

@@HM_RELOADED I understand, thanks for explaining. I've noticed a lot of Chinese to English manuals often have numerous errors throughout them and can be contradictory or misleading. I believe the 100s "auto-preheat" function is simply due to the current flowing through the unit into the battery, generating heat as electricity does when it flows like this. From my experience the manually enabled pre-heat, as I explained in the previous comments, turns on the pre-heat symbol and displays the temperature, uses wayyy less power, since you are not discharging the unit to a battery and works much faster. Again you may have a dud, but my unit does the same thing as yours, unless I manually enable the pre-heat mode.

I just re read the Gooloo GT4000 manual and it specifically says the Gooloo GT4000 should be hooked up to the battery for 100 seconds in order for the preheat technology to activate, or if the unit is Not hooked up to a battery just wait 100 seconds, then push the Boost button, then hook it up. So, the GT4000 preheat technology should work hooked up to a battery or not hooked up to a battery. But as another test I am going to throw the Gooloo GT4000 back in the freezer for a while, then after it comes out, I will Not hook it up to a battery, I will only wait the 100 seconds and push the Boost, just what the manual says. Let's see if the Gooloo GT4000 preheat technology activates faster than if it's hooked up to a battery, or if I have the same issue. I will let you know the outcome. You would think if the Gooloo GT4000 is hooked up to a battery or not, the pre heat technology should activate the same time, but we will find out.

I absolutely love both the Gooloo GT4000 & Lokithor J401X, but if I must choose one, I would def choose the Lokithor J401X. Both units have mega power, both have preheat technology, both have nice LCD screens, both have multi-functional torch lights, both have portable power banks, both have boost functions, both are pricey, but I think the Lokithor J401X is heavy duty with very nice clamps, made just a bit better. Keep in mind that the Gooloo GT4000 has 4000A peak with 100-watt fast charge. The Lokithor has 2500A peak and 100-watt two-way fast charging. So, it's all a matter of personal preference. Both units

Yes we did, over and over, on and off camera. We have numerous videos out about the preheat technology. If you read the manual it says to wait 100 seconds before the preheat technology activates, or push the Boost button and the preheat technology will activate. How many times do we have to push the Boost button to activate preheat technology. If you watched our other GT4000 preheat technology videos you will know that we push the Boost button a million times and we wait and wait like the manual says. The only other reason that it doesn't work is because its a defective unit. We have had a few other people say their Gooloo GT4000 does the exact same thing and the preheat technology never activates. • @HM_RELOADED

Yes, we read the instructions in the manual to a tee. And you are NOT supposed to hold down both buttons to force pre heat technology according to my manual and other Gooloo GT4000 owner manuals. My manual clearly says to either wait 100 seconds after the cables are hooked up to a battery, or if the unit is not hooked up to a battery to push the Boost button to put the unit in pre heat technology. If you kindly send us an email address, i will take a screenshot of the actual instructions for you so you can clearly understand what the manual really says. And if you have watched other videos, you would know that we always give Gooloo high marks. We have countless videos, so we are very aware how to use the Gooloo GT4000. So before making comments, you should really read the manual yourself before passing judgement, because no where in my manual and other Gooloo GT4000 manuals does it say to push both buttons to activate pre heat technology mode. I would love for you to send me a screen shot of your Gooloo GT4000 manual saying you must push the power button and the flashlight button (the only 2 buttons) at the same time to activate pre heat technology. I will be waiting for your screen shot. Also, we have been told by other people that their Gooloo GT4000 has the same issue as ours. So either we have defective units, or some units work, and some do not. Thanks for the comment

Let me ask you a question: Are you out of your mind with that dumb comment. First of all, the Gooloo GT4000 is supposed to activate the preheat technology with or Without the cables attached, as the Manual says. There was no resistance broken as you say. If you watch other videos on the Gooloo GT4000 and the preheat technology, there are a few videos demonstrating the preheat technology activating With NO cables attached, so obviously the cables arent the issue then. Also we have and a few Subs contact me and tell me they have the same exact problem with their Gooloo GT4000 not activating the preheat technolgy. And guess what, those other people didnt mess around with their cables. So obviously your theory doesnt hold water. So obviously us cutting the wire cables didnt have any affect what so ever. We are thinking we have a defective unit like the other 2 people that contacted me to share their experience. And if you paid attention to the other videos, we extended the cables for a reason, obviously you didnt see the point in doing that. Please take a minute and read the Manual with your crooked hands. If you would have commented nicely without negativity, i would have been much nicer, but since you commented something negative, you get a negative response back. Please refrain from negative comments in the future. Thanks for the ignorance.
