Gotta love a CUMPAN! Although I think you'll find in the pronunciation the emphasis is on the "Cump" with a short "an" - phonetically "Cump'n" - just that little bit less slutty than "Cum-Pan"....and as for "it's not too tight, you can get it in from a different angle" I nearly choked on my weekend HobNobs!! Lovely to hear Mavis in top form...good advice from her too...

Double thanks for the vid Chops, my cumpan unit arrived last week- but I’d put off fitting it until you’d posted in case you found any pitfalls that the Berotec video had glossed over. Your comment on the exhaust gasket and burning into the petrol tank made me check my wobbly Akrapovic dealer fitted unit- yep no gasket. Collected from local KTM dealer and fitted today- much better.

Niiiice. Loving the dash assistant. Think it'll have to go on my list for bits for the 690 👍 but I was hoping that ktm would use the same loom on the scmr as on the duke.(money saving and all that) Therefore allowing the tft to retrofit 🤔

being looking at CUMPAN - cockpit assistant my self chops looks easy to fit . next thing on my list . 2021 ktm 690 has Rev Counter fitted in same dash

OEM rubbers on old mx bikes never sealed the joints in exhaust at barrel or silencer, always apply some instant gasket for good seal and dampens any vibrations. Cracking vlogs as ever, but the anticipation for the unspeakable build completion is literally the elephant in you garage........🤣🤣🤣

@@LambChopRides I saw that, schoolboy error on my part commenting before watching the full episode😂 Little tip regarding oiling filter, small bucket with a lid, poor in bottle of oil, dunk filter and squeeze gently all excess oil, let dry if tacky oil type. Then a smear of grease around rim of filter for best seal. Worked for 40+ years racing motocross, albeit road conditions shouldn’t be as dusty!

She's having some money spent on her! I'm crying at the idea of buying a PCV for my 701 and with this series you're making my list of wants longer.... damn you chops, damn you!!

CUMPAN sounds a bit dirty 😀 good video again mate.👍Also I think I better double check if my fuel tank on my 690 is melting🤔

Cumpan now has a color unit with gear indicator for the newer 690/701's... given the very reasonable price this looks like a no-brainer upgrade to these bike's instrumentation. We found that they have a tendency to overheat at high altitudes/low speeds/steep terrain (heavy load), and having real temp indicators (instead of idiot lights) would be very handy for those riding conditions (more for the Enduro than SMCR obviously).

@Lamb Chop Rides hello! does the cable/sensor for the rev work as gear indicator as well? And could i just leave the oil temp sensor hanging without using it? or could it cause short circuit, electric problems and staff..? ty

Keep an eye out for oil leaking from the counter sprocket seal, they have a habit of leaking if disturbed (or even if they aren't).

@4:18 aaa, the famous sumitomo plugs (the white ones). Hard to find in the EU but not impossible.

Good video does it also connects up with the enduro model, also the adhesive mount attachment looks like it would easily work loose?

Dont use impact drivers on the drive shaft nut, once you damage the threads its a hell of a job to replace the shaft, costing you SO much money it isnt worth risking it. You have to split the case to change it.

The Old Instrument Cluster was way better had a nice analog tach on it.

I'm upgrading my 2020 690 enduro with a power commander programmed by Rottweiler and a Cumpan cockpit assistant. Wondering if you had any issues with the Cumpan and the PC5 both piggybacked at the crank sensor wiring?

Time for a bike upgrade again lol.

Hope they updated the ‘roller rocker material’ where it’s ‘hardened’ metal used to crumble, wear off & munch the engine.

do you need the gasket if its connecting to the stock pipe or just the Tekmo

i actually got a cumpan for my 690 aswell, but i dont have the steering bracket, quite dissapointing seeing you had one! haha

Hm, ridden my 701 50.000 km the last two years, never had an urge for a shifting light nor i did on one of my other supermotos before. For oil temp-sensor im running on the cheap with a simple analoge one as the oil fill in screw replacement, works just fine. Interesting stuff though whats possible with relatively little money. Cheers

Yes oil temp is very handy, rev and shift light handy IMO 👍

Is that airfilter worth it? Looks annoying having to oil, and concerns me if water splashes it. Never know when rain might pop up. anyone know if it's really a concerns or em I over thinking it?

I changed the calipers on a sv a few years back no abs system but it went from 2x 2 piston to 2x 4 piston and the master cylinder had to be changed as it couldn’t match put enough pressure to the extra pistons in the calipers incase you don’t see a difference in brake power from calipers alone it will be the master

Luckily after doing some research both the stock and M4 caliper have 34mm pistons so that hopefully wont be a problem 👍

I don’t know why people deal with all that installation. There are units that you can buy that plug right into the ODBII diagnostic plug. And, you can configure anything on the display that that the ODBII system monitors.

Lamb chop rides I installed this on my bike 2019 Husqvarna Supermoto 701, bike went all to hell after. Check engine light on and code that has to do with transmission range sensor A&B. KTM Husqvarna dealer has no idea what is going on. I live in the United States North Carolina to be exact anything you can tell me?

Nice video!! On the website for the Cumpan it shows it also has a gear indicator. Any particular reason why you didn’t use it? Everyone says the 2 things it needs are a tach and a gear indicator. The Cumpan would appear to solve both. Keep up the good shows!!

Just throwing this out there, but are you trying to use a right hand caliper on the left hand rotor? Seems like the inlet for the banjo bolt shouldn't be in-board to me.

Dear mr chop, does the 690/701 still have the second & third gear restriction? It is a well known hack to remove it and unlock the power. There are numerous videos of how to remove the pins, I have a 2007 supermoto, there is also an oversize injector available from gray area Racing Ktm, 500cc/min/max . Just a thought. Keep up the great work!

I rarely have a problem with them once you are used to the bike. Riding in motocross boots does make it worse though
