I’ve had one for 14 months, a GT version in a lovely deep red colour. Great looking small car and a brilliant car to drive generally, fast, smooth and quiet. It’s quite small in the back but other than that I can’t really fault it apart from needing more range. The new version adds about 10% on the range which is great but I’ve found in the real world efficiency doesn’t really get above 4 mile per kWh and drops to about 3.2 in the winter (UK metrics!). So even with the slightly bigger battery you won’t get more than 200 miles at best and likely 150 ish in winter. For me that’s still a little on the low side - if we had real world 250 in summer and 200 in winter it would make a lot of difference. The other issue is the price and depreciation means that leasing rates on these (in the UK) are now really high - around the same as a base Tesla Model 3 which is a shame. It only really makes sense as a used buy now as a good low mileage year old is under £20k compared to a list price of £35k new.

Thanks for the comment and great to hear from an existing owner. The real world efficiency is not great for sure. The price is also not helping it being so close to a bigger car with better tech and range

Tks for the update . A 10% increase in the battery makes a lot of difference just enough to not have to buy a bigger car just for extra km.

Just a couple of pointers; the 17" inch wheels are the biggest you can get. There are no 18" inch ones on any version. There is no 'GT Line' any more, it's simply 'GT'. Nice review of a beautiful looking car 👍

Great review Derek and I love the colour 👌 I really like Peugeot's new styling and design, the e208 should be high up on alot of peoples list along with the MG4. The DLR's you never fail 😂. We know what you mean.

Thanks for a good review. I had a test drive of the ICE version of this car which was OK, but lacking in punch and feeling very cramped inside. I think the Corsa makes better use of the space available and felt a little bit pokier on the road. Some very good deals on the Corsa at the moment.

Man i wish i had one of this. The 208 is my favorite car!

Hi Derek I'm very very curious about the servicing, wear and tear running costs and the cost of parts for electric cars. For example, do you always need to bring a tesla to a teslsa garage, I hear electric cars rip through tyres, are there any components that are giving trouble, how much does serviceing cost, what's entailed in that, etc. If I knew more about that side of things it could easily be the key to me finally making the leap to electric. Would you be able to shed any light on the topic? Better than that, a dedicated video would be brilliant. Thanks.

I’ve been following several EV channels for a few years, tyre wear is mostly dependent how you drive. EVs have more torque so more temptation possibly to put your foot down. Brakes should wear much slower, most of the problems seem to be ball joints and suspension components due to the extra weight - most garages could sort that out. The motor and the main battery however - that’s main dealer territory. General servicing should be low - not much to do on them - brake fluid check, pollen filter and various checks is about it.

I can get a second hand one 21 plate with 16k miles for £16500 is that a good deal it's a GT premium? Or wait for this car as this one is probably more efficient as the older ones lie

If you see value in the 2nd hand one, ho for it. The improvements are minor and the GT trim isn't that much of a step up in my opinion. If you don't need slightly more range, the 21 plate should be perfect

Very tempting car though still more expensive than 1.2 Puretech 130hp , insurance premiums higher and reported depreciation as being very dissuasive . EVs I think are still are hard sell whilst there is a choice .

The problem with this car is it looks great. The inside is better than the MG4 imo, but the range is less. Its getting very difficult to say one car is better than another but personal likings will sort that out fot the individual. It just keeps on getting better with the choices for the average motorist.
