a lot of those video ideas sound pretty neat, especially the ssb grand tour and the mega man series reviews, but really the only one that doesnt super interest me personally is the walkthroughs. that said, the 100% guides id probably find more personally interesting if there was some aspect to the 100%ing process that was particularly interesting, be it interpreting what exactly 100% means in that particular game, or something else. that said, given the cool stuff you've put out thus far, i have faith you'll continue to make good stuff regardless.

Every last one of these ideas sound banger! My favorite kind of content is passionate deep dives on niche things, and it's cool to see you pursuing that. @flight92585 ай бұрын
Great videos man! To provide some feedback, what drew me to your videos was you talking about niche topics or scenarios that I haven’t seen others discuss. What made me stay was your thorough effort to explain all of it with nice small but impactful edits that are a breath of fresh air from other channels that feel they need to be loud and heavily edited to keep the viewers attention. So I think that for your future its best to stick with video ideas that haven’t necessarily been done before and that YOU are passionate about. Or for something like a Mega Man series review, go into why these games are now part of your favorite franchise and what makes them so special to you. KZread has so many Mega Man game reviews so just keep in mind to find a way to set yourself apart from the rest either by an interesting format, providing details about the games others don’t cover, or go all in on the personal side. TL;DR You are doing a good job and you being yourself will help you stand out and succeed!

My only thought is if you make a continual series about something, please make a playlist for the videos. Like if you do a series of videos on getting 100% in Persona 3 remake, please put it in a playlist. It helps keep things organized in the immediate, and helps people discovering you later on find a good place to start watching. And retroactively making a playlist for a 200 part series is a pain in the ass.

I'm here for the video essays. Smash world tour sounds neat, provided you merge smash and the game you're playing together more closely - like, say, learn a character from smash and play with him, and compare that to the game experience and how one informs the other. Not that interested in the completionism guides in the abstract, I'm a recovering 100% addict myself lol. Whatever you do, I think you should just try to make it more meaningful to you - as a player, I want to deepen my enjoyment for works, and part of that comes from understanding it more, but also from recognizing how I could play differently (not necessarily more effectively) to make it more fun or more novel. Something that aims to say "here are the ways I've found to have fun" having played the whole thing while searching for alternate forms of play or engagement could be really interesting. Really, I just think that if you're going to put in the kind of time investment that takes, you need to make sure that effort creates something unique. You've got an uphill battle there since completionism in and of itself has been done, after all.

Damn dude this rapid growth is insane, I look forward to your future content on that one blue guy. Also I wasn't expecting the RoahmMythril shoutout. My only question I have for you after watching this vid is would you ever cover Megaman fangames at some point? I totally understand if it's not a priority considering the drastic differences in quality from game to game and also since you plan to cover obscure Megaman media (looking forward to a video on Rockman Strategy since I've NEVER seen anything reference that game). Regardless on whether or not you plan to cover fangames, I'll still be watching your videos since they fill a niche that has surprisingly not been capitalized on while also being concise.

About the second channel thing, from what I understand its usually a good idea to have them for algorithm reasons. Relatively recently a channel, Ceave Gaming, talked about it, though I couldnt find the video; he makes Mario related videos, and eventually wanted to talk a out other games, but a big part of his audience wasnt super interested, so less people watched, which made his regular Mario videos show up less for these people

Personally I subscribed for the video essay type videos. I saw the Zelda one about keys first, and it reminded me a lot of Pikasprey Yellow's SoftLockPicking series about softlocks in Pokemon; exploring a game's mechanics in a creative way to see if there are ways of using those mechanics to do things unintended by developers. I also enjoyed the video about the score system in MM1, both videos are topics that you don't see that often, and go a little more in-depth the usual review fare. I guess deep dives into technical and gameplay aspects of various games, retro or otherwise, are kind of my jam, and completion guides/reviews wouldn't be that interesting to me personally. I'm a big gamer myself and love exploring how games work and perform outside the norm, which is what drew me to those two videos and made me subscribe. It'll be interesting to see where the channel goes from here, but personally I'm most interested in those types of videos, about a variety of different games, and not just Mega Man.

I just like retro computer stuff, which includes retro games, for the reason that when I grew up with that stuff, there was no Internet. If you today get stuck in a game, you just search a walkthrough guide online. If you today don't understand a game mechanic, there is certainly a wiki kind page that will explain it to you. If you today have a question about a game, there is a forum you can ask for it. And every new game gets tons of online and video reviews. Nothing of that did exist or was possible when I was a kid. You had your game and if you were lucky, some game magazine would one cover it and if you happened to buy the issue, you had some hints and maybe a walkthrough and maybe some of your questions were answered ... but maybe not or you missed the issue or there was just too little information in the magazine. That's why I like to watch videos that cover old stuff the way I wish it had been covered back then and that might answer all the questions I had as a kid or tells me something new about games I played decades ago and never were aware of. I must admit, Mega Man was never a favorite of mine but that's only because I sucked at playing it and to me those games always seemed way too hard and I just didn't have the endurance to fight my way through. I was more the causal gamer and I wanted my games to be easy and fun and not grindy and requiring a lot of practice or more complex strategy. E.g. the original Zelda was fun to play or a Link to the Past, Zelda 2 was too hard for me. Didn't like the original Mario Brothers either but I liked Mario Brothers 2 (not the Japanese version!) or Mario Brothers 3, as both were way more doable. Donkey Country sure was fun to play or TMNT Turtles in Time and the fight game I ever liked and ever was good at was Street Fighter 2. But that doesn't mean I don't like seeing other people play Mega Man or talking about it, just because I sucked at playing it.

Completing the Smash games would be awesome, but you'd have to define the bounds of what is actually represented. I assume just the playable characters, but Snake is technically designed to be an in between of 2 different people from 2 different games, Terry is from Fatal Fury but has moves he got from a lot of games, Sephiroth is very much based on his Advent Children version which is in between 7 original and Remake, and then how do you "complete" Minecraft? Very excited regardless.
@the1stwing5 ай бұрын
In terms of deciding what games are represented in Smash, I'd so ONLY stick to ones which have a playable character Extending out to Trophies and Spirits, that would take an ETERNITY Also maybe only stick to ones that feature the character(s) (i.e. only FF7 for Cloud and Sephiroth)

5:11 I think Super Metroid would be a good first choice for this. Make sure to remember that if you reach the end of the game, it'll save at a certain point that won't let you go back to 100% it. I know other Metroid games do this too.

Gonna be totally honest since you asked, but honestly do whatever you want, but just to get it out there. More video essays like what you've done so far are obviously wanted, that's why I subbed after all. The 100% guides are kinda interesting, I'd lean more towards me personally not wanting them, but I can see the appeal, however I'd need to actually see one first, it could be cool, hard to say. Details walkthroughs are something I very much don't want to see on here, sounds like a terrible idea and very far removed from the more detailed and focused ideas that seem to have more of a point, it honestly feels like THAT in specific should be a second channel thing. ALL the mega man games is a cool project, honestly love the idea of it so much. Hyper fans just going thru everything in a series in detail is always cool and I always love seeing it and learning from it even if it's something I'm not into. So same for the Smash Bros. idea, it's cool.

I absolutely would be interested in the 100% Roadmap videos! I love 100% in stuff and I’ve found the stories of the process can be fascinating, speaking from experience! But I’d also be happy to see whatever you make. Happy to have been here since the Megaman score video, congrats!
Sparkle on, RetroDude.
literally every video idea you proposed would be right up my alley lol
Man, I for sure subbed at the right time. I am so excited for your next videos. I fucking love Megaman.
Thanks for the update! Good to know we’re gonna get more Megaman and hyper-specific passion. I think the 100% guides would probably come out infrequently enough that one channel can support them.
I love the idea of extremely detailed 100% walkthroughs. Would 100% watch those, especially on retro titles
I really like the video essays you've made, I personally would enjoy detailed walkthroughs but that's just me. However, just do whatever makes you happy in the end.
I’m personally a video essay/analysis fellow whether it is to an autistic hyper specific level on one topic or even more topical high level subjects. I personally only watch walkthroughs of video games I am personally playing but I’m sure lots of people would enjoy that content generally maybe For me the nicely edited video essays/analysis is what shines. Your first videos are absolutely Goated and I’m looking forward to your journey!
jeez, the Mega Man Smash Bros. announcement was already nearly _11 years ago?_ thank you for reminding me of the unstopapple and unending forward march of time
Super looking forward to whatever's coming next! You rock.
For Zelda 1, you should try Zelda Classic. It's pretty fun and allows you to make/play Zelda 1/3 styled quests.

@@Doktario_MystarioSort of, it's more like RPGM but Zelda.
"whatever the hell I feel like" sounds kinda sick not gonna lie. best future project idea
a lot of those video ideas sound pretty neat, especially the ssb grand tour and the mega man series reviews, but really the only one that doesnt super interest me personally is the walkthroughs. that said, the 100% guides id probably find more personally interesting if there was some aspect to the 100%ing process that was particularly interesting, be it interpreting what exactly 100% means in that particular game, or something else. that said, given the cool stuff you've put out thus far, i have faith you'll continue to make good stuff regardless.
Every last one of these ideas sound banger! My favorite kind of content is passionate deep dives on niche things, and it's cool to see you pursuing that. I think it would all work on one channel, too, way less clutter and shifting around that way, IMO. Good luck on the continued growth of the channel!
personally i think 100%walkthroughs being on a different channel makes sense. but everything else makes sense being on a different channel. ideally they'd indeed be on one channel, but youtube isn't formatted in a way that makes this the best choice from the consumer's standpoint.
I am ALL IN on the Mega Man stuff! Getting really excited for not only that, but all sorts of your ideas!
Dude I immediately fell in love with your channel with your Mega Man video. Your edits are so funny. Also Mega Man 7 as a favorite Mega Man game is so goated.
TL;DR You are doing a good job and you being yourself will help you stand out and succeed!
honestly all those ideas sound like that would be pretty great! i do lean toward the Game Analysis and Whatever the Hell I Feel Like sections the most though, since those have a lot of potential for covering stuff I've never thought much about
In-depth completion reviews/guides is a banger idea, and something I'd absolutely be here for! I look forward to it.
All the ideas you shared in this video sounded great! But whatever you decide to do with this channel I’ll stick around because I really enjoy your sense of humor and style. I’m excited for the future of this channel!
this is such a cool way to plan what you want to do imo. I really like the idea of you showing 200% guides, and honestly that whole time all i could think about was you covering ULTRAKILL. I also look forward to whatever you want to do with your chamnel! You're interesting enough to warrant making whatever you want and ud still watching it.
Do I even need to mention that I'd like to see that comprehensive series of reviews of all Mega Man media? Because of course I do, I've had this username since 2007. Bring it on man you are terrific so far
I wasn't expecting a Roahm shoutout of all things, but I guess I should have with how much Megaman he's uploaded over the years.
i'll be following any video you make, but the commitment to mega man and the cybershell and roahmmythril mentions are completely winning me over oh my god
Love what your videos have been like so far and I'd have to say I look forward to whatever you end up doing going forward. Personally I am a huge fan of the Smash Bros. idea, I think it's super unique and would be dope to see the project unfold over the years. Also for the 100% summary idea you and I think very similarly so seeing someone else tackle this concept is something I've always wanted. However, I think relegating the detailed walkthroughs to a second channel would be best since most viewers will have no need to watch it unless they plan on playing the game themselves.
i cant wait to see what you make next :3 congrats 🎉
For the second channel question: I'd say if you want everything to be on one channel, go for it! :D as long as you have organised playlists for your different series, then I'd say it's totally fine :] Your content is great so far! Love to see more from you
7 is an interesting choice for favourite mega man, probably not what most would pick i'd say. Looking forward to the next video! you got on that algorithm juice hard and honestly so far you deserve it.
I realy like your video ideas especially the megamen lore with extreme obcessive detail Realy loved all of the videos so far and im very exited for more content❤
This all sounds really exciting! I look forward to the journey of this channel :) Edit: I think everything on one channel (this one) would be nicer than a second channel. I prefer it when everything is easy to find in one place, and just organized by different playlists. Wouldn’t be opposed to a second channel though, I would definitely subscribe to it 👀
All your ideas sound great! The 100% completion stuff is ambitious, but as long as you're passionate about it, I'm sure you can handle it. Looking forward to whatever you make next! :)
Honestly, so long as you keep this passion and joy for what you do, I'm willing to watch anything and everything you put out. Just try not to burn yourself out trying to keep up with the new viewers. Hope the best for you! :D
You easily won me over (seriously, i’ve barely touched mega man, and a video about a score system is hard to sell, but i’ve watched that one a good 6 times now) Whatever topic/content you delve into, i’m here to watch it
video essays and smash grand tour would be most appealing to me!
Congrats on the fast success! Looking forward to future videos. And respect for the RoahmMythril s/o. That dude is is the OG for Mega Man challenge vids.
Looking forward to any and all future videos from you! Very much enjoyed your stuff so far. Also: LONG HAIR GANG YEEEAAAAAHHHH
Nice one, we have pretty similar interests from what you've uploaded and said, so I'd be happy to see anything you want to tackle, Dr Retro.
I'm grateful to have found your channel. Keep doing what you're doing!
Relatively recently a channel, Ceave Gaming, talked about it, though I couldnt find the video; he makes Mario related videos, and eventually wanted to talk a out other games, but a big part of his audience wasnt super interested, so less people watched, which made his regular Mario videos show up less for these people
Real excited for this channel! Started playing Battle Network recently, found your first video, and went from there. Totally down for a ton of Mega Man content, but please do whatever the hell you want as long as their's passion put into. You got a great style
The psychotic in depth videos are appreciated though. Very motivating to see while working on projects.
I'm honestly interested in all of the ideas you mentioned and can't wait for what the hell you do next. edit: The smash grand tour sounds insane. In ljke the best way btw.
Smash Bros. Grand Tour sounds crazy. I'm in!
just throwing in my two cents. i subbed cuz i got an impression that ur the kinda guy to focus on the logistics of a super specific, niche thing (buyable keys in zelda 1, points in megaman 1) and explore it to a very satisfying extent. so if you feel your future explorations will cover and dissect similar nuanced ground, then im on board for whatever. :)
After I watched the zelda video, I watched the rest of your videos, even though im not much of a megaman fan. My preference leans towards zelda (and pikmin 👀), but your content just clicks with me, so I'll watch whatever you put out.
it sounds like you have so many amazing plans. all of them sound amazing. please do whatever you want, and don't push yourself. congrats on 10k btw
For now, one channel. Second channels are a very specific thing designed around how KZread algorithm works. As your current setup is working for you, don't mess with it.
Hey man, I'm just happy to hear whatever you gotta say. Whatever you find interesting enough to talk about, I'm on board, because I just like hearing others talk about what they find, well, interesting. I can't really guarantee you'll be seeing many comments from me (as I am horrendously shy) but just know that I'm always happy to take the time out of my day to watch a video from you! Take a long as ya need and keep doing it because you wanna.
I definitely like the idea of completionist guides.
i love the ideas of the mega man series retrospective and the smash bros history thing
I'd absolutely love to see completion-focused videos!!! not many youtubers actually go to such lengths in their reviews/essays, and with your style and flare i think they'd really stand out.
Honestly, a video about the mega Man logo(s) could be interesting if you have enough to say about it. Graphic design analysis is a neat topic that I don't think I've seen that many video essays on.
I'm here for the video game essays, less for the 100% walkthroughs
SSB Grand Tour is a really cool idea!
Shout outs for the powered up love. Wish we got a powered up two. Can you imagine? I hope you talk about the MegaMan powered up level editor at some point too!
Yeah now that you mention Cybershell, your style of video is pretty similar. Even your intonation/the way you talk - which you should also take as a good thing. i'll probably upload whatever you upload, I recommend making what makes you happiest :)
Of the things you said, talking about really obscure Mega Man secondary media sounds like a really good time for me and maybe like 10 other people.
if you like completing games to showcase your mastery over them you might end up liking the website Retro Achievements haha anyways videos about hyperspecific topics or incredibly detailed analysis on a full game are exactly my jam i will drink from this fountain and feel prosperity (so im looking forward to your plans)
Excited for what's next for you. Consider upgrading your mic! But not matter what, do what you like as it'll always result in a better video
As long as you enjoy creating/working on the videos all of the mentioned projects are gonna be great! You probably still need to take a close look at the youtube analytics to see what type of videos are worth the huge amount of work you put into them.
Good Job on the video! Just as a suggestion, for the Super Smash Bros. Grand Tour, you could do every game represented in each game's soundtrack.
I really like your 3 videos great editing man keep it up
I vote for "whatever the hell you want". I just like listening people smarter than me talk
Sounds great man, looking forward to seeing more from you.
Last year I decided to play trough all the Mega Man games in order but I had to stop because 7 made me kind of miserable, especially the final boss. But I honestly respect you for picking that as your favourite. Some would say it's based even. Not me though, I don't talk like that. Also I'm down for whatever. All these ideas sound like videos I'd enjoy watching.
I'm a Mega Man fan too. Yay. And by the way, I'm interested in the future videos you have planned
Honestly just do what makes you happy! I'm here for it either way :3
I'm here for whatever you put out, go for it. (And preferably on one channel)
The smash grand tour sounds cool, that'll be quite a variety of games to tackle. I'm also interested in the Mega Man reviews, I like hewr people talk about things they are passionate about. And of course the video essays like the one's you've already put out. Compeltion gudies do kind of interest me, depends on how they're formatted and what games are chosen
That smash bros thing actually sounds really cool ngl
looking forward to whatever you put out next :)
I've always wanted to do that smash bros grand tour idea, I would love to see that
I just love your content so keep doing everything you feel like doing!
Wow, I haven't heard the name "RoahmMythril" in a long, long time. That just struck me like a bolt of lightning. I watched his Mega Man Battle Network videos religiously when I was, like, 10. Lord. Almost a decade and a half ago.
Reviewing every Mega Man media in chronological order?? I can't wait for the Mega Man Brazilian comic video in 30 years
from one Ethan to another hell yeah dude great content keep it up
i love the future laid out for this channel:D
I'm willing to be a loyal subscriber, as long as the editing don't become overly stupid/memetic/fucking shit. That's the only thing I always concern about, so if that happens, imma head out; if not, I'll stay and consume everythin'.
I love your video ideas can't wait to see what you put out next! Especially that megaman media one! I feel like if you put the guides on this channel they might perform worse than if they were on a second channel dedicated to that? I'm not entirely sure though
congrats on the milestone, that's huge! i don't know a single thing about mega man, but you seem like a great person to learn from :)
Congratulations, man! You've earned those 10k subscribers; here's to many more, and to your future success! With regards to the Mega Man content; are you planning to touch on any high-profile fan efforts, such as Unlimited, 8-Bit Deathmatch, Rock n' Roll, or Maker?

Maybe one day? They certainly deserve the love
