UPDATE on the Abandoned Koi Pond
An update on the restoration of the abandoned koi pond that we cleaned last month. Here you will get to see how the koi and goldfish that were abandoned are getting nibble that their pond has been cleaned. You will also see how to install a pond skimmer and some plants.

Who thinks the fish look better?
Kind of winced seeing that black splotchy coloration on the carp. Those are ammonia burns. Not necessarily deadly but a sign their water was so high in ammonia for so long it literally burned them like acid. Goldfish and carp are very high ammonia bearing fish and every time one died it made the pond a little more toxic. Poor babies. Glad someone is taking care of them now. I do believe a bit of slime coat repair or melafix will help. It takes months for those burns to heal and get their color back.
Please go back again and show us how it's looking after the the additional filtering. It is so satisfying to see the positive results your hard work has brought about! You have made the lives of those fish so much better and have brought beauty back to what had become an eyesore. I really want to see it with the flowers blooming and the algae gone. Thank you for sharing!
Everybody in these comments (i know they mean well) keeps telling you a thousand things you should do as if you don’t already know it and aren’t the professional in this situation… but you still answer very kindly back anyway! Just wanted to point it out… you seem like a very compassionate and patient person.
Those koi are definitely getting their color back! Give them enough time and they'll be stunning
If you stay consistent with these types of videos I’m sure you will get to 100k subscribers by the end of the year. Mark my words
Yay for the plants! I would do much more plants or add water hyacinth and lettuce until the lilies are large enough to balance the pond. I would repot the lilies to larger baskets right away and add large rocks on the surface of the baskets to keep the fish from digging them out. I hope to see more updates on this beautiful pond. 😍
The fish and pond are looking great, especially the gorgeous orange goldfish and the kois' fins. It's nice to know they're healing so nicely from their prior neglect. 🧡
Oh man, I hope the owners let you come back. It looks so much better already, I'd love to see the difference everything you did this time will make
I was actually surprised to see how much more vibrant the fish already look!
Even though your work can be tough and exciting, I like your zen pace when sharing your experiences.
Proper job. This kind of content and the patient approach to making it into tutorial style is just the therapeutic tonic. Pond rescue complete. It would be great to see miniature submarines with cameras being tested each time you do pond. Just for a laugh for all of the big kids like me. Thankyou❤
Fish look so much better and so happy, owners will have fun naming them all!
Love the skimmer!
Oh, the fish are gorgeous......thank you so much for the update, I hope the owners are pleased with all your hard work x
They sure look happier now! ❤
After years of battling green water and algae, I found installing plants and a lot of them solved the problem. Watercress! Keep it contained as the root system gets large and cull it periodically. Koi and goldfish are especially messy. Koi also eat everything thus keeping plants in pots or floating planters helps.
Felt bad for those poor fella’s. You did a great job and made those fish very happy!
From the USA and accidentally found your channel when you started this massive pond. The fish look so much better they are getting some color too. With all you’ve done this trip their life will be even better! I would suggest some night blooming aquatic plants to the new owner for some nighttime enjoyment
I love how the fish and the pound are looking.
