Update on our life in Italy and the progress of our house in Loreto Aprutino
We have our first completed room in the house (living room) and the kitchen will be completed once we have our oven. We really need progress on our bathrooms since we have guests coming soon! #retiringabroad #abruzzo #loretoaprutino #lifeinitaly #retireinitaly

The chandelier looks absolutely stunning up near the beautifully restored ceiling. The floor in the Living room has come up a real treat. The end is in sight!!

Thank you! We're pretty sure we'll never have a finished house! The outside facade and the windows will take forever, and then we don't even think about the cantina below the house!
I only just saw your sites. What a lovely, beautiful couple you are, both of you. And what a wonderful, interesting home. Albeit, your home yet to be finished, your tour of it was fascinating with all the historic features. Love the chandelier, the dining table, the chairs.

It's been SLOW! See you soon!
The room with the chandelier is remarkably different from the first time we saw it. The ceiling is gorgeous. I also like how that guest bathroom ensuite is looking. You are all doing a great job.

Thank you so much! Our patience is running a bit thin, so it's good to be reminded how far we've come!
It is fantastic to see you make progress. Glad that they opened your street up again. :). Man, that floor is absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you! We weren't sure how the floor would look, but it's beautiful. The street opened is so nice because it's brought some life back to our street.
I love your beautiful authentic videos!

Love seeing the progress, but, more than that, it’s so great to see you both and hear your voices. Diane and I hope to visit someday!

Thank you David! We're happy about every little step but we are tired!
Wonderful to see the progress!!! I know August is the "slow" month(s).... But looks great, we are planning to be there in November to see our house and see (if) any progress was made...

We haven't walked by your house in awhile. We have guests coming and we were pushinng to have another bathroom but that's looking doubtful.
The property is looking wonderful! 80 degrees sounds a nice temperature compared to Austin TX where it has been over 100 with high humidity!

Ugh, I don't miss Texas summers! The summer here has been hot enough, but at night it usually cools down to the upper 60's or low 70's which helps!
Wow - everything looks just beautiful. I can't wait to see it all in person when you are ready. xxoo

Awesome guys. We had thought about Loreto Aprutino. Wasn't sure the location, without a car, would be good. Would you agree?: TY, please keep us posted.

Thanks Jim! I think a lot of Abruzzo would be difficult without a car. We do have bus service to Penne and Pescara, but I'm not sure it's that often each day. That said, there are usually people waiting at the stops.

That's what it seems. I appreciate your input. Definitely will be visiting Penne and Loreto Aprutino this spring. TY for the vids.@@ericgray6625
You're getting there! It's looking splendid. I'm glad the weather has moderated. How will you use the room with the beautiful salvaged tiles and the chandelier? It looks as though it would make a beautiful library or study.

Thank you! This room has turned out so much better than we expected and it's small and cozy. We may put a television in the room but it will mainly be a sitting/reading room.
I'd move into your pantry, where the fireplace is!

It is the biggest laundry/storage pantry we've ever had! It's useful since there are no closets in these old houses!
I wish you mention what you pay for things, table, chandelier, remodel, etc. Thank you.

Thanks Carlos. We mainly do the videos for family and friends, not expecting other people to watch. We definitely can do a video talking about that. We've mainly avoided mentioning price because the house is inexpensive by US standards but expensive by the standards of the area we live, and we don't want our Italian friends to think we're bragging or to feel embarrassed.

That’s understandable. We are considering a purchase but have a lot of concerns about remodeling costs.
Hi! ;-)
