I always believe in having CCTV cameras everywhere public (including Malls and Restaurants etc.) in my country Canada (and USA) because it can help reduce crime! Privacy is important, yes, but in public area, I value Safety more than anything else! Honest people don’t need to worry about CCTV cameraS in public area! I don’t! ❤️CCTV 🎥📸📷📹🤳📽️🎞️All public area! ❤️from🇨🇦 BTW, UK major cities have lots of CCTV, but in my opinion, it can still use more cameras.

My friend helped me to contact Taxi control center and managed to get the driver contact number. The driver told us his next passenger had seen my handphone and he will come back to us to return my handphone 2 hours later as he currently had a passenger. True to his words, my phone was returned to me. I gave him 50 rmb for returning me the phone. At first he do not want it, after some persuading, he finally accepted it. 😅

Their government is lead by WWII class A criminals illegally exonerated by USA after WWII. Nobusuke Kishi was one of them. Shinzo Abe was his grandson but I guess karma is finally hitting them. They are intent to whitewash their WWII crimes with historical revisionism and funds massive anti China and pro Japan propaganda, misbranding everything Chinese invented as “Japanese”, demonizing China all over the world. Japan is entirely behind all this anti China propaganda buying out western media. USA is more like their puppet after WWII, using communism as an excuse to cause the Cold War to divert attention from Japanese war crimes and make brothers to continue fighting over some meaningless ideologies. I often tell people who fall for the Japanese deflection trap of “anti communism” to start a Cold War proxy war in Japan to eradicate the Japanese Communist Party, or just declare Okinawa independent like they try to do with Taiwan. WWII isn’t done yet. USA has been keeping Japanese imperialism and German Nazism alive by importing their scientists onto US territory. The origin of COVID was from Fort Derrick which is an extension of Japanese Unit 731 in Harbin, China lead by the demon doctor Shiro Ishii. He bribed USA with medical data from Unit 731 in exchange for immunity for most class A criminals. Japan has been funding massive western propaganda to do image makeover and to continuously attack and demonize China using communism as an excuse. USA, Japan and Germany aren’t anti Russia and anti China because of communism, but because they want to revive WWII into WWIII, helping Japan to take China and Germany to take Russia. Ideologies are pure pretexts. They demonize Islam because Islamic countries have oil. It’s all about land and resources. Ideologies are there to do the divide and conquer game. Germany invented communism, socialism, Marxism, Nazism and Zionism. Japan has a Japanese Communist Party. Why isn’t USA doing anything against Germany and Japan for their communism association? Germany and Japan, the two axis of evil countries that started WWII, host the most American military bases directly aimed at Russia and China. Japan cannot have an army but a self defense one, so they hide behind USA, behind all the anti China media and trolls, and behind the excuse of “anti communism” to continuously promote China hate and promote “Japanese superiority”. This Sinospheric country Japan that copied the whole Chinese Tang Dynasty as their “Japanese culture”, and copying their writing system such as hiragana (cursive Chinese), katakana (partial Chinese) and Kanji (Hanzi named after the Chinese Han Dynasty), reminds me of Satan with its satanic pride wanting to replace the Creator as “god” while blaspheming God as the devil, flipping the truth upside down. These anti China propaganda in the west originated from Japan because they want to culturally, historically and geographically genocide and wipe China off people’s mind. The moment people mention China, Japanese paid trolls immediately jump in to call you “wumao”, “CCP shill” and “communist”. It’s like you either have to accept China demonized and slandered with lies and all Chinese inventions (noodles, dumplings, rice, rice wine, rice noodles, bean curd, miso, hotpot, chopsticks, soup sauce, tea, tea ceremony, cherry blossom, paper folding art, penzai, weiqi, katana, lamian, efc) all misbranded as “Japanese”, or you are a “communist”. Japan is the one funding massive trolls shouting “free Tibet and free Taiwan” to try to divide up China from within. They are also the ones bribing USA and South Korea and Philippines in their side, telling Koreans to spread historical lies that Confucius was “Korean” and Koreans invented Oracle Bones Scripts. Japan copies its culture from China. Google search for “Japanese missions to imperial China” and “Japanese missions to Tang Dynasty”. It copies its technology from the west. What I don’t like about Japan is their satanic pride, trying to play god and wanting praise for everything they copied from others and trying to replace China as the “most superior Asian nation”. If they want to prove how much “superior” they are to China, at least learn to invent their own culture and own writing system first instead of copying the whole Chinese Tang Dynasty culture as theirs. 😂 Seriously, Japan is the real culprit trying to destroy China. USA is truly the Japanese hitman doing their job for them with their massive media and military weapons because USA has been bonding with Japan since day one when they opened the door of Japan. Japan pretends it’s “superior” to China all the time. Among the three Sinospheric nations Japan, Korea and Vietnam who got their cultures from China, Japan is like Satan being the proudest and most arrogant, like Satan trying to usurp the place of God while blaspheming the Creator (all the anti China and pro Japan propaganda Japan funds).

I suspect most people in the west don't care enough about China one way or the other to seek alternative narratives. And keep in mind that most news media in the west is negative for everything, not only China. Negative sells - I'm not sure that concept is well understood in China.

My briefcase was stolen from me in Brussels while I was in a Thomas Cooke store exchanging money, there were cameras in the store. The Thomas Cooke people just shooed me away and told me to go to the police. I went to the police station where it took forever to finally speak to an officer and they refused to help me, basically said tough luck, you'll never get it back. When I mentioned the fact that there were cameras which might have recorded the theft the idiot's eyes lit up briefly but then he asked me if the cameras were actually working! Jerry, I got a similiar experience. Lost my bag where I had my videos and camera accessories worth more than US5000. It was a late evening and the hotel people were so helpful to ask one of the staff to accomodating me to the train station to trace my routes. Connecting to the CCTV camera. They checked thoroughly for more than one hour and confirmed that I had placed the camera bag on the shelf in one small eating shop on the way back to the hotel. I was so relieved and in the moment of happiness and offer to give the hotel boy a tip of 1000 yuan. He simply refused to accept it. I never forget this episode visiting China. The street and station cameras help. They really are useful. People are so helpful. This is the reall China.

And why are we paying income tax and all those other myriads of taxes to the government for if they are not using them for the good of the people and the country? The best you'd get is to leave your number and wait for a call in case the item ends up in some lost & found. Unsurprisingly I never got any call, let alone watching camera footage together with anyone.

When i left a hotel in China, I left a few dollars as tip for the cleaner. They CHASED me down thinking i forgot the money. I have to explain it was for cleaner. Same thing happen when i leave a tip at a few restaurants because of American tipping culture habits and they provided superior service. One thing i noticed is even thou some workers are poor (in US standard wage condition) they are honest and have integrity. Can't said the same about Americans. Lots of video people just smash and grabbed, (recent one is a guy stole 40+ iPhone), breaking car windows to get stuff from car in board daylights.

When in London my bag was stolen from a restaurant. There were CCTV cameras. It just so happened there were two policemen on the street outside so we went to speak to them together with the restaurant manager. The coppers were not interested whatsoever. Just told us to call the non-emergency line to get a reference number and claim on our insurance. The restaurant manager was literally there saying they got the culprits on CCTV and invited the cops to view the footage. Nope, no interest whatsoever, refused to go in and walked off. Oh and in Jerry's case he was allowed to watch the CCTV together - but in our case, we were told it was illegal for us to watch the CCTV without a court order because of privacy laws, and only a police officer was allowed to - but they still didn't even bother. That's the UK for you.

I wish we could follow China and have more and better cameras around

A few years ago, I lost my wallet with my money, credit cards, and ID card (which you cannot do anything without) in Hong Kong. I reported my cards lost that evening, and in less than 8 hours, I got a call from the local police - my wallet had been handed in by a taxi driver. When I went to pick it up, all of my cards and all of my cash were there; I cannot say how grateful I was. Hong Kong, and China in general, is extremely safe. The sense of civic duty and looking out for one another, family, friends, and colleagues in the PRC is something that really is lacking in most places in the West.
