    Man, I’ve never put a comment in my life about a Railroad, I always notice things I think look fake or out of place in a lot of them.. Shouldn’t judge like that but can’t help it I’m in to extreme realism.. That is the nicest looking layout I think Ive ever seen. Just beautiful,I lived in the Mojavedesert area my whole life and you nailed it. Just Absolutely Gorgeous work.

    Yes! I commented on a previous video how well Kory captured the Mojave. We live in Las Vegas and frequently drive the I-15 to Los Angeles. I especially enjoy driving through the San Gabriel - San Bernardino Mountain pass and watching the intermodal trains snake their way around Cajon Summit. The military train reminds me of the Marine Corps vehicle depot in Yermo.

    Another great update as usual Kory. Always nice to see this layout progress. I went to the website for your backdrop and saved them in my favs so I can check them out in detail later. The one they offered for your area looks great. I like the idea of cutting away the sky so you can blend the future into what you have going now as far as color and detail in the blue area. Keep up the good work.. you've captured the area in color, texture and details. As far as the rebuild on the corner..one thing that I've seen with your layout over time..you don't settle.. It has to be right or it just doesn't work. No doubt you'll make a transition that will be spot on. Till then.. enjoy. You'll work it out.

    Nice track addition proposal there Kory. I honestly think your layout makes best use of the adage "less is more" and the expanses of land with a bit of scrub growing on it really gives a feeling of a spacious western American place.

    Dont tear up all that work It looks beautiful. The cajon pass doesnt have double tracked trusses anyways so keep the single track bridge and at the switch right after that. That way your work doesn't need to get affected.

    Hi Kory, good to see you again. The backdrop looks great. With you so busy at work, ( which is a good thing ) I wouldn't bite off too much at one time. I would blend the seams around the wash area first. And then rework the curves. I agree with Chris' comment about referring to the defaults on the troublesome decoder. Check online. TCS has a great customer service department. They were helpful to me when I had an issue. Anyways, looking forward to your progress. See ya next time.

    dude your back drops look great. if you can keep with that company it really dose look good. as for your expansion spot where you want to create a bigger yard lead. yea your bridge looks really good there but you are right to do that since it is going to be a reworked area i would do it it will make it a lot easier to operate the yard and make the trains look much better on a long and wide curve. yes do love the military train. i want to start building one too but with winter coming and heating bills. well it might have to wait till the spring. if you know what i mean. those micro trains cars and tanks and stuff is very expensive man. holy cow we modelers have hundreds of dollars invested in just one train. but yours looks good man keep up the good work. i also follow your layout progress on youtube so keep going i know its tough with work and family but you are doing a great job !!!!!! thanks for sharing jim

    Kory, Nice update. Layout lookin good. As far as your yard lead, could you put the new switch in after the bridge? That way you save the work you've done on the bridge & you can access the yard from either track coming off the curve. I don't think that would tighten up your curve too badly on the main. Keep up the videos & the good work. . . . Ray

  • @Vman7757
    @Vman77574 жыл бұрын

    I like what you want to do so you have a longer switch lead. You might want to move the new switch to the yard in front of the switch that's there now. then you can enter from ether track. And exit from the yard to ether track. Good work. The back drop look awesome.

    Hey Kory. Nice work with the backdrops. Saw you were having an issue with your Kato Genesis unit. Try setting CV 8 to a value of 2. That should reset the decoder to the factory defaults. When you set the address ‘47’, enter that value into CV 1. As for the patched SP unit, I have done quite a few ESU installs. Sadly, their speakers are a little subpar for my taste and the baffles are too much for the limited real estate under the n scale shells. Best bet is to forego the baffle and use ‘TCS’ kapton tape on the frame where you will set the speaker and to secure the speaker to the frame. If you do find the speaker is not to your liking, I use a TCS WOW sound speaker (#1699). Good luck with the install. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

    I would go with the siding, It would make more room to have a train leave the yard, and and wait for another train in enter the yard, as free up more yard space

    I know this video was posted along time ago but if anyone has issues with the Kato P42 not responding, you need to solder the pickup lugs to the DCC PCB as the plastic clip holding them down is not very reliable.

    I would what u said... but I would take that yellow bumper dead end....make that come up to another switch....so u have pass through rail lines....better than backing up I always say...ask the women....the rather not back up....lol .."SOME"...not all....I have one of those "some" lol.....I'm teaching her....but yes I would DEFINITELY DO WHAT YOUR DOING...just split that bridge brace down the middle or at the edge where the bridge is toward the edge if the layout ...put a piece of wood or plastic in there for ur double bridge...then cap it off with the cement abutment and touch up....lay ur track.....it looks more complicated.....I've changed my layout so many times...and had to move ....i have all my track on letgo..never had electric through it...bummer ....but that's why I'm trying to help...if I cant build one..maybe even a sliver of advise would be cool to help....great videos my friend!!!

    I have 1 question and 1 comment. Question: how come you are using the large snap switches? With your attention to detail, I figured you go more prototypical with the switches. Comment: if I recall, tank platoons ran with 4 tanks. Maybe consider adding 1 more Abrams to the military train.
