Just discovered your channel. You did the right thing in tearing out the old yard and replacing it. Nothing is more frustrating than bad track work, You did an excellent job too! You mentioned the improvement of Peco products over Atlas. When Atlas first introduced their n-scale track a lot of us tried it and I for one was disappointed, having the same problems you mentioned. The turnouts were also a disappointment. I then switched to Micro Engineering. The flex track is great, but I had the same problem with the turnouts, the locos would stall because there wasn't consistent power through the turnout. I made improvements to both products, but they still had problems. I was about ready to forget n-scale when I discovered Fast Tracks. I gradually replaced most of the turnouts. My locos run flawlessly through the Fast Track turnouts. I know most modelers are afraid to make their own, but if you have basic modeling skills they're relatively easy to make after some practice. They are another option. I mentioned this because people that are new to the hobby should do some research into what track to purchase. Get the best track you can afford, and if your don't like it or you want to improve it, follow Kory's example and replace it. You won't regret it.

Another great update Kory.. I'm always amazed how you will completely dive in an tear something out and re do what ever it is that is not quite working out to your level of expectation. Most people including myself sometimes will limp along and make do.. not you.. if its not right..rip it out and fix it. That determination is a real boost to --don't settle... fix it !

I like the improvements Kory,it looks really good.I hope sometime down the line, you setup the rest of those switches on tortoise slo-mo switch machines also. I love the Rail-Logic block/rail crossing signals too, very prototypical. That's going to be a top-notch layout when it's finally done.

Glad you are good now, working upside down is fun aint it, was an auto tech for long time and had to do wiring under the dash's of cars, and overhead when car was on the rack. I'm starting new layout in modular form so I can stand it up and do wiring. But I'm old and portly and need a fork lift to get back up lol. Your layout looks good , great changes. Luv that Mc d's. God Bless Ya Dave

Hi ya Kory, very nice to a KRP video drop. Wow! The yard looks great. Lots of time spent on that. Off topic a little. A young man such as yourself shouldn’t be sick for 3 weeks. My philosophy is If I come down with something and it hangs around more than a few days, it’s time for a visit to the doctor. I’m not a big advocate for antibiotics, due to their overuse, but sometimes that’s what it takes. You got to take care of yourself dude! Sorry, I went on a parent/grandparent rant. Anyways the layout is coming along nicely. And I look forward to future updates. See ya.

Welcome back , I was looking to see how the yard came out. Everything looks good and working well I see. I have a bunch of tortoise motors myself I am wiring up. I used 8 different colors of wire which gives me 64 color codes if I need them. This way each motor has its own color for ease wiring to the control panel on barrier strips . Anyway nice update and a lot of those atlas turnouts are junk...I know!

Very nice update. Love the signal bridge, that is something that holds me back, wiring!, The back and neck have been operated on, so to bend under a layout isn't fun. Glad you are feeling better, I had it and it lasts 3 weeks or more. Be safe and look forward to more videos when you get to em. Thanks.

Depending on your scale and size of the layout segment involved hinge the segment to lift up like an auto's hood and sit/stand working on the wiring. To make sure all track stays in alinement use "The Gap Master" from www.americantieandtimber.com/index.html

Nice revision to the layout. Yard looks really good and flows nicely. Overall look and feel is good. I think, if I had to start over, I would do code 80 with Peco Electrofrog switches. Code 80 just seems much less fussy than Code 55.

You may want to make your wiring neater, so you can trace a problem in the future. Label too would be helpful. But you have done a GREAT job with the track work. RrL Jenkins
