Eh. To each is own. I absolutely loved the makeover! This inspires me to attempt something similar on a pair of dated side tables I have. The gold leg socks are brilliant! But I’m thinking an ivory color and possibly champagne metallic.

What have you used for gold making?

It's called "gold leaf sheets". You put an adhesive on the object you wish yo turn gold, then apply the thin metal sheets. It can also be purchased as flakes or as a paint.

"Upcycle" ... you updated it. It looks nice. But it wasn't trash to begin with, and you didn't transform it into something new. This isn't upcycling.
