Up Your Pool Game From a Skill Level 6 to 7
Спорт
In this pool lesson, Florian "Venom" Kohler talks about improving your skill level from a 6 to 7. We discuss kick and bank theory, pattern play, and decision-making. He walks through decision-making in an 8-Ball and 9-Ball rack and talks about the theory and thought process in each one.

Super big buckets
Thanks Florian, great video and good advice. APA needs to do more of this kind of promotion and education content.
This video is so good!! More of these please.. keep up the good work & Venom is awesome too..
Kohler, Great comments regarding skill levels and playing 8 or 9ball rules/procedures.
awesome video i just went up to a 5 but these videos are super helpful! Also i cant wait to see him live in a few weeks
Now, if I ever win a pool trophy, I'll. bring it to an APA league night and use it as a pocket marker.
Thank you for another very good video
Nice special effects on that 9 ball break, choice!
Well done, Appreciate all the help finding the next level. Keep up the good work. Any chance you wanna show some kicking drills or safeties soon.👊🎱👍

Check out Tor Lowry’s videos on kicking.
yup, 9ball format APA rules is even better, even if you play defensive when you don't have a shot, take the points that are available.
21:00 Gotta work on that one. Can't count how many times missed run-outs... Not nerves necessarily just lapse of concentration.
I just recently went up to a 7 in APA 8ball to drop back to a 6 am.super close to being back there again, the mental game is big part of going up to a 7, less innings per match and more safeties. as for decision making always good to have options in case you mess up a run and can use the backup plan †* note I'm also an 8 in 9ball***
Wow ! If you play good pool and want to do better - Watch this thought process !
Do you have a video on how to improve from a SL 7 to SL 8
I was telling a friend about Florian and he asked me "he can play truck shots but can be play pool?" Uh, well yea. The trick shots this guy plays look way harder than regular old pool.
What about the 10-ball for your first shot in the 8-ball rack?

If you wanna be a 7 you need to learn how to play run out pool. Safeties mean more innings no? Idk how they calculate the innings in apa but 7s should be able to break and run or run out when they get to the table with some regularity
True about compromise, don't get yourself mentally upset. Just stop and analyze!
Is there a list of generally agreed-upon skills to have at each APA level? If not, how is it decided when a 4 should be a 5, a 5 should move to 6, and a 6 to a 7?
Same as the other one
When was the last time you missed a shot that you were trying to make?
I believe you have the 15 to start the run
Why not go bottom of the two and shoot it with follow for easier position on the 8 ?
Why not cut the ten in lower corner
1st rack 8ball, I would have cut the 9 in the side, and had a few options after that... The 11, 12 and 14 are all sitting pretty good.
Don't know why you couldn't have cheated the pocket on the seven ball and just went forward with the cueball and come out for a better shot on the eight. I quit apa because too many sandbaggers. They will get a comfortable lead then run up the innings by just missing their shots all while hiding the ball ( by accident)🙄. I went to Napa, where you call your shots, and you move up when you win no matter how many times you come to the table.
Great videos but in APA the majority of people try as hard as they can to stay at least two numbers lower than their actual skill level.

I was thinking of joining an APA but why would someone stay lower than their actual skill level? I'm just curious.

That way the highly skilled player has a shorter race to the win than what they should have. For example... In my 8-Ball league I'm a SL6. If you were to join your skill level would be 4. That would make it a 5-3 race where I need 5 games before your 3. Some players will try and manipulate they're ranking so that they don't have to win even more games/ points. They get a shorter path to victory and likely will be matched up with someone as the same rank as them (at least on paper) making it even more likely they'll get the win. I've never agreed with that type of play, I say PLAY YOUR TRUE GAME!! 🎱 🎱 🎱

@@junior311631 Yeah. Play under their skill during league and turn it on in playoffs or tournaments.
Many, maybe even most, leagues play on 7’ tables. Because of the size and the large number of bad breaks, there are more clusters and congestion to deal with. The series could have benefited from doing the demonstrations on the smaller table. Maybe some pointers specific to the smaller table.

@@kentsears1429 that is definitely not a 8ft table.
They should have NEVER swapped the 4 and 5 ball colors. There was NO NEED to do that. Let's see those bastards try the same with snooker and see how they take it.
Nine ball runout was so bad!
As if any 6 wants to be a 7 in this league. The real secrets/lessons are how to sandbag better.

It's sad that people have to be such assholes and try and game the system. Just sad. People should be striving to be the best they can be at all times. I have always wondered how people feel when they win something by cheating. Guess I was just taught different.

Hmm, then I should still be a 6.
If you find this helpful you been watching the wrong pool channels - there's much better content out there guys
Omg that style of ball is hideous. Love your tips though!
Overhead shots are not very helpful.
Black stripes are too hard to see......made this entire video pretty useless in top view.....
