Up Close With The 2024 TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph
Ойын-сауық
As the Only Watch Auction unfolds today and we see TAG Heuer's Split-Second Monaco finally cross the block, we thought today was as good a time as ever to take our second - and far closer - look at the new Monaco Rattrapante released at Watches & Wonders 2024. While the Only Watch edition might have played spoiler to this release (or at least foreshadowed it), it took none of the surprise away from this newly revamped variation on the classic square chrono made famous by Steve McQueen.

Absolutely shows where the brand is and has been for many years, ridiculously inflated RRPs.
Really cool timepiece!
Beautiful movement
The price is crazy too 😂
Hello there @Hodinkee @Nicholas-I have said it a few times now but Heuer and Zenith now having similar perosnlaities with going the innovation route and sharing technologies is a great thing in my opinion despite the ideas I have read on platforms. I feel we have had a period of 1:1 re-editions and I feel burnt out and I am sure many enthusiasts feel the same way. So, innovation, especially well executed innovation is very refreshing, Heuer and Zenith are brands I am so fond of right now. I applaud the great work and look forward to being a long term consumer of both brands. I will also like to add that price points on a few releases have be steep and I am not sure why, especially on certain models that are housing a long term calibre. The Monaco Skeleton edition at 11000 CHF has locked me out of the category and I am sure many others too. Other models have been less conservatively priced as well.
I will be adding another Tag to my watch collection soon l have 3 over 30 years old never let me down.
00:48 and 2:34. A split-seconds chronograph with an impossible-to-read second seconds hand. I wonder who thought grey on grey was a good idea.
I love Nicholas but come on "the most exciting watch of the company's history?" What about the Monaco V4, or the Carrera Micrograph, or the Mikrogirder?
🔥
1133B or nothing
We couldn't fit a date on the dial? I love the concept and it's quite the novelty but legibility is so key for a decent timepiece which is a bit challenging on this new design. The '69 model is still more appealing than this new release.
"Most exciting watch in the history of the company". 🤦
DEI hire. Not for me. Will not be buying a TAG Heuer any time soon.
This watch is still too thick
