It would be nice if Schuberth would fix these issues since you have proven that there are fixes that aren’t hacks like using o-rings to add resistance to the visor

Your absolute right 👍🏻👊🏻😉
You are my champion👍👍👍 Very good job!!! Today all patents are expired, so pay 750 euros for a brand from the past? This is not an investment of quality, it is only for fashion and beauty. Today, everyone saves on quality control, both because the production processes have greatly improved, and also to compete with the Chinese (the Chinese constantly save on the quality control component). That's why you don't need to be disappointed, it happens today with all the "big" brands, these are new days. The marketing departments allow themselves to exaggerate a bit, because the majority customers will not feel the difference, and that's why we have to do the quality control ourselves. And this is your video all about, a great demo for a DIY QA.

Spot on mate ! 👊🏻👍🏻🍺😉
This is the first video, of yours, that I've watched. I like your humor, honesty and content! I just picked up my new Schubert C5 yesterday and installed the Cardo Packtalk Edge. Haven't road with it yet, (tropical storm). I'm curious as to why the colors that are offered in Europe, are not offered in the US. Not unhappy with my silver one though. Gotta check them holes now. Thanks!

Welcome aboard!
We do notice that the quality of many products is going down drastically since 2020. BMW motorcycles and Schubert helmets are included. Pay attention and do not take things and names for granted. Stay alert and use your eyes, do not let books and propaganda blind your experience.
Lovely informative videos. Hands up. Takes time to do a good video like this. Safe rides.👍

Nope
I just ordered the same helmet but new production (was backbordered). I have none of your issues, seems they addressed it. Sturdy visor Vent holes line up perfectly Vent holes slider is very smooth Silver emblem lines up perfectly Visor "clicks" shut in those 2 tabs without effort Nothing to "godverdomme" with mine ;)

Great to hear
Hi! My helmet had the opposite problem... On the closed position it rattle like crazy but in the open position it will stay put. No rattle... The problem was solved when a bug smashed on that air vent... Never rattle again! I really think that this helmet doesn't worth the money because of the quality problems they have. I bought mine in Grey Plain color. Had problems with the chin mechanism (it didn't closed right), my sun visor slider ended stuck ( went to service and they said that the internal string popped out of place), the top vent rattled (solved by the bug...) and the paint started to coming of on the parts of the chin I usually touch to get it up and down and on the front air vent (they replaced the front air vent tab also). Also... I had the visor going down at slow speed issue. Solved it for now with a O ring but I thing this isn't a proper solution (I'll try yours... someday). I really tried to like this helmet because it's very comfortable inside. but all this issue really let me down. Schuberth support was alway 5 stars. They attended my complaints... but the helmet really disappointed me with all this issues. I think that Schubert should have made a recall to at least fix the visor issue. Thank you for your videos!
I checked my C5, and the alignment on the holes was fine, but the slider was very difficult to use. I have taken it apart, cleaned it and applied some high-quality silicon spray, and it is better but to be honest still not great. It will be difficult to slide it with gloves on, unless one takes off the helmet and you can see what you are doing.

I am very disappointed owner o a Schuberth C3. My previous helmet was a Caberg Sintesi, it was not a good helmet but for the price it was ok. I choose to jump to a Schuberth for the quality. Since first day the helmet did not securely lock the right chin hook. I needed to push a bit to the right side the chin so to get it aligned with the pin to lock. Also the ventilation is almost not exist and yes i have checked the holes. I am from Greece and for me a well ventilated helmet is so important cause 9 of 12 months of the year is hot. Another big disappointment was the noise, i understand that C3 is a modular helmet and it can not be a noiseless but it is above the normal noise level after the 90-100 km. As i understand Schuberth has built in years a reputation of quality and the last years has just downgrade their quality for the extra profit. I am really disappointed and as i understand it's not just me. It was a very nice and handy video Old Mechanic, be well!
I have a Schuberth E1 helmet including the built-in Schuberth communication. Not the cheapest helmet including communication on the market. I didn't know anything about helmets or riding a motorcycle then. Now, 40K Km in 4 years. The biggest bad buy was the purchase of an E1 helmet. It's just a big disappointment. Lots of wind noise, the peak to soft, vibrate violently, batteries com. system defective after 2 years, etc. Never again a Schuberth.
In this video it was not clear how the cover over the top vent slide mechanism was removed. On the second helmet, the camera was zoomed in closer but that step was edited out and not shown at all. Prying the rear of the slide cover up was a good start, but by prying it up and off @theoldmechanic was fortunate he did not break any of the four mounting tabs. I pried mine off without breaking any tabs too. I then saw the best way to remove that top cover is to pry the back of the top cover up and then slide it towards the back of the helmet to release it. Once you have it off, you will see that it can be placed in a position to slide forward, it will settle flat and lock back into place.

It just slides backwards to remove. Don't lift it.
Thank you for documenting these issues. I’m looking for a modular helmet that fits me well, and will avoid the Shuberth C5.

i have the schuberth c5 and the e2 ... booth of them are so bad tons of issues. i will switch to shoei mutch mutch better helmet and fits perfect. never ever buying a schuberth again.
We all know where they are built or put together reguardless of what make
Ciao ma questi caschi ne hanno sempre una lo volevo acquistare ma mi sa che cambio con un shoei neotec 3
Godverdomme
Face shield not easily closing issue. Now this. Schuberth counting on name recognition to sell poor quality.
See I told you that you should have got an e2 😂😂😂😂 not the quality you expect from Scheuberth

E2 has also top vent issue, when opened it rattle like crazy
You are right. They should send you a helmet for testing. After watching you for a while I know you will have that helmet RIGHT. Randy

I've just snapped a tab off my top vent removing it for the first time to lube the thing, this is possibly the worst helmet I've bought in the 20 years of riding bikes. My pinlock has also failed in the 5 months of owning it. Just dont buy the C5, im so annoyed at myself for spending so much on this crap when my wife bought the neotec 2

Thats fully understandable, quality checks are terrible at Schubert. And its not a low budget helmet...
750 EUROS and it doesn't perform as claimed. Guess you have steered a few motorcyclists from wasting their hard earned. Have you considered alerting Schuberth's Customer Service Department to your channel?

I like seeing that the problems are fixable. Overall, I like the helmet. The pads to make the helmet fit a long oval helmet made a big difference for me. As a person with a long oval head, it would be nice to see more manufacturers adopt the padding that can change the fit.
