The first legal slave owner was a white man named Hugh Gwyn of Virginia who owned a black slave named John Punch. But yes, Anthony Johnson was the real deal who had blood on his hands!

This was normal in those times..some slaves lived better than people in this era. It's what some people did with their slaves..them behaviors was not normal during the slave trade. So don't use this to justify blks having blk slaves
