  I anit trying to be rude or anything but I can't think of many black women I would want to sleep with for free let alone pay for it .   I am glad I found your channel. I am a 61 yr old white woman and I like knowing all of history, not just what they taught us in school. I think its very sad that, for the most part, they didn't teach us much about black history. Thank you for putting it out there as we all can learn from the past.   A beautiful thing. African families want to stay together. One person would buy a family member until they had their family back together. Unfortunately, they could not free that person, it was against the law for a freed African to free a slave, only purchase. "Free Joe" Harris, one of my ancestors, purchased is wife and others of his family. He refused to have another of his children born a slave.

  Slavery Myth:The first slave owner was not only a black man, he demanded it. The curious case of Anthony Johnson The historical evidence seems to to say otherwise: · The ship Desire brought a cargo of Africans from Barbados to Boston in 1634; these people were sold as slaves. · The existing scholarship indicates that John Punch was the first man known to be perpetually enslaved on July 9, 1640, a punishment he received for attempting to flee his indenture. 1640 John Punch, a runaway servant of African descent, was sentenced to lifelong slavery in Virginia, while the two European-born companions who fled with him had their indentures extended by one year only. · In 1641, the passage of the Body of Liberties provided legal sanction for the slave trade in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. · (N.B.: The image in the meme above isn’t of Anthony Johnson. Because many historians claim were no photographers in 17th-century Virginia.) Facts About Anthony Johnsons: · In 1621, Johnson was delivered to Virginia’s shores on ship as an African captive, simply called “Antonio.” · Sold into bondage to toil in the tobacco fields, “Antonio, a Negro” is listed as a “servant” in the 1625 census. · By the mid-17th century, he became a landowner newly named “Anthony Johnson.” His ability to gain freedom resembles the functions of indentured servitude, in which an unfree laborer is bound to work for a landowner for a specific length of time. Once they satisfied the terms of their indenture, they could freely acquire land and capital. · By 1650, the Johnsons owned 250 acres of land stretched along the Pungoteague Creek on the eastern shore of Virginia, acquired through the headright system, which allowed planters to claim acreage for each servant brought to the colony. Anthony claimed five headrights (This was very rare though but laws were not so engrained in racism during this time) · By 1651, Johnson gained his freedom and acquired land and servants, eventually attaining legal ownership “for life” over a Black man named John Casor, a condition that separated servitude (labor for time) from slavery (labor for life) · In 1670 died Antiono died and in August of the same year August an all-white jury ruled that Anthony’s original land in Virginia could be seized [from his surviving family] by the state “because he was a ‘Negroe’ and by consequence an alien.” And fifty acres that Anthony had given to his son Richard wound up in the hands of wealthy white neighbour George Parker. It didn’t matter that Richard, a free man, had lived on the land with his wife and children for five years.
