I am a filipino Muslim therefore I am trilingual speaks Filipino, English and Arabic. As a Muslim growing up we have to study Arabic as we grow and it is included in our school subjects. To study Quran and the teaching of the Rasul(SAW). I also have Arabic name at 2009 I flew to Saudi Arabia to work and as of today I still live here I didn't have any hardship adjusting with culture in KSA because I am used to it it only strengthen my beliefs and improved my ability to read tbe tajweed and tafseer of the Quran. I have never regreted making a decision of working in here 10 years ago.

also during the time of the dark ages in Europe, Muslim scholars preserved all the ancient knowledge from the past. they studied, and safeguarded the ancient Egyptian scrolls, the ancient Greek philosophies, just to name a few. a true believing Muslim's whole life is devoted to gaining further wisdom and knowledge in life. This is absolutely profound, because the first thing a conquering nation does when they claim a new territory is burn the temples, burn the books, and erase the history of the people. We did the complete opposite. As Muslim's we recognized the sheer importance and significance of these monumental achievements by mankind , we preserved them. Democracy would not exist today, had it not been for the Muslim scholars who safeguarded the world's ancient knowledge. The idea of the United States might never have been achieved had it not been for Islam preserving mankind's ancient knowledge. This is profound, and also never taught to us in school. I never , Ever, Ever, remember a single lesson in U.S public education system that taught us anything about the tremendous contributions Islamic scholars have made to benefit all of mankind.

Actually, Badra is correct. Because Europe had launched itself into the anti-intellectualism of the Dark Ages, they never would have been able to access the classic ancient Greek texts that helped inform the Rennaissance if it weren't for the fact that Muslim scholars had translated the manuscripts in the first place.

You cannot be Andalusian from Southern Spain if you say those things. You are a liar. All Andalusians from Southern Spain are devoted Christians who love their culture, customs and religion. They love their Virgin Mary and the Holy Week. They do not know anything about Islam and I can assure you that they are not interested at all in that religion. They just like the Muslim monuments. Islamophobia is the new racism, apparently. FYI, I'm not affiliated with any religion, and I don't plan on becoming Muslim. I just want to honor the culture of my long forgotten ancestors. Al-Andalus was the first true country of Iberia, and it lasted almost twice as long as Spain and Portugal has so far, so my ethnic lineage is mostly Arabic/Berber. Also, the Roman church has caused far more crimes against humanity than any other religion; So let's put that into perspective. The Christian crusaders invaded Al-Andalus and did exactly what you claim the Moors did. The Roman church would soon after torment and kill many people through its unjust and evil Spanish Inquisitions; then go on to invade other countries and do the same to them. At least the Muslims in Iberia were tolerant of other beliefs. The Christians were like "Submit to us, get out or be killed".

Only for 60 years there was certain peace between the people of different religions, the rest was a hideous society with Muslim masters who did nothing and Christian slaves who did all the work later on muslims would claim as theirs. Jews were massacred in several occasions, native Christians were forced to convert or leave their own lands, many fled to keep their heads. Most of those designs were not from the muslims, not at all, and most poets, doctors, etc in Al Andalus were native people who were forced to convert to Islam for economical reasons or to save their heads. Sure there were some of them who were truly original in their ideas and who did good things, but most of that stuff, was not coming from muslims at all.

During the Middle Ages muslim nations were the most developed regions in the world, and everyone used to go to learn knowledge there.

ArabAM 93 everything that is not the result of our works and being proud it is completely wrong. It's pride for nothing and it's bad, really bad. Instead of getting blind by being proud for nothing we should do something really good to achieve it. You can start from now, make your weaknesses your strong ness and be a better person. Improve your patience, talk nicely with people and .... . One of the best things you can do is being nice to others even if they insulted you so you can represent what real Islam is.

Se estudasses a sério os documentos históricos da época, o Alcorão, a Sunnah, os diversos Hadiths, percebesses o que Alá e o seu "profeta" destinam aos não-muçulmanos (e que implementaram na Península Ibérica durante os muitos séculos que por cá andaram), a forma "pacífica" como chegaram à Península e por aquí ficaram... não c*gavas essas m*rdas pela boca nem nos envergonhavas a todos, Portugueses e Ibéricos.

I'm spanish. Our teaches talk positively about that. Just like all civilizations that were here. Arabs brought too many good things here, but they didn´t bring our salvation like other comments I read here XD Just a good contribution. The cultural exchange brings good things. Not totalitarism.

Why would you ask them for a video when you can research it yourself. You have the internet. You'll probably get more fact checking than from here. Cnut the Great was the king between 1027-1031. George II wasn't there until the 17th century. Does that not make you feel nervous about where you're getting your info from?

All those achievements were Spanish, not Muslim. All that is said in this video is a lie. It is even shown part of the Palace that was built by Charles I of Spain. It is hilarious.

That explains why so many kids including me back then whenever they hear Portugal they would say oh like bortoqal the fruit

MashaAllah It is important to go there and visit these places in Al-Andalus, if you can

However, I have been to cathedrals and churches in Spain (Granada Cathedral, Seville Cathedral, Cordoba Mezquita, some cathedrals and churches in Madrid and Barcelona. I was born and bred in a Christian country so I know all about it - UK to be precise

This is my go to video when I feel less motivated to do my work. Like, this story makes me realized how important my action and my behavior, to bring us back the next Golden Age of Islam. Well, it might not seems a lot, but a little hard work goes a long way.
